Martin quickly brought Luffy to the outskirts of the city and stopped at a random open space.

"Haha, you're amazing! I almost couldn't keep up with you." Luffy stopped and laughed.

"Luffy, what do you think the Pirate King is?" Martin asked.

"The Pirate King, the Pirate King is the person in the world who pursues freedom. Once I become the Pirate King, no one can control me anymore, not even my grandfather." Luffy smiled happily.

Martin couldn't help but feel sorry for Garp, who desperately wanted Luffy to become a Marine, and ultimately sent him down the path of piracy.

"No! The Pirate King isn't the freest person. Do you know how the last Pirate King died?" Martin tried to ask, thinking that Luffy couldn't possibly know that.

"I don't know how he died!"

"He was chased by your grandfather and eventually turned himself in to him. Whether he is free or not."

"He's so pitiful, being chased by Grandpa, and Grandpa's punches hurt so much." Luffy heard Martin say this and felt empathy, constantly touching his head with his hand.

Do you still think he's free?

“Grandpa didn’t fail to catch him. Failing to catch him means he’s free. I’ve already made an appointment to return this hat to him.” Luffy said with a determined look.

As expected, this didn't work. It seemed this was the only way. Martin made up his mind.

"Let's do it! Let me see what you're capable of to become the Pirate King."

"Then I'll launch my attack. You'd better watch out, my punches are really heavy," Luffy warned worriedly, having already considered Martin his partner.

"Rubber pistol!"

Luffy flicked his hand behind his back and then used the elasticity of the rubber to quickly strike Martin.

"afraid!"

Martin easily grasped Luffy's hand with one hand, then held Luffy's hand in his own palm.

"With this level of strength, you have no chance of defeating me. Otherwise, you wouldn't be the Pirate King. Anyone on the sea is stronger than you."

Hearing Martin's words, Luffy wasn't angry at all. Instead, he shouted, "Wow, you're amazing! You have to be my crewmate. I think I'll make you my first mate."

Martin was terrified by Luffy's audacity. How could such an ignorant boy survive on the high seas? Was it just because he was the chosen one of the world?

"call!"

Luffy felt a gust of wind blow past him, and then he suddenly felt a chill on his head; the straw hat he always wore was gone.

"How could you take my straw hat? This straw hat is very important to me. Give it back to me right now."

Luffy lunged back, trying to snatch the straw hat back from Martin.

"That won't do. This straw hat is mine from now on. I won't give it back to you unless you defeat me." Martin said, his feet constantly dodging.

"Give it back to me right now! How can I become the Pirate King without my straw hat? I'm turning seventeen in May and I'm setting sail!" Luffy shouted as he stretched out his arms and legs, trying to snatch the straw hat back.

"May, there are only four months left. It seems I have no choice but to take him to the New World..." Martin thought to himself, quickly approaching Luffy and then knocking him unconscious with a single blow.

When Martin took Luffy away from the Goa Kingdom to the New World, an unexpected person came to Windmill Village: Buggy the Clown.

"No, how could there be no Luffy? Where did he go? What are we going to do? If Shanks finds out, he'll laugh me to death. He can't even keep an eye on a newbie."

"And my dad told me that."

Upon discovering Luffy's disappearance, Buggy was in a panic. He secretly lurked in the East Blue to look after Luffy and go to the New World with him.

Yes, Martin personally instructed him to take care of Luffy.

Chapter 239 Stealing Luffy's Hat

"Where am I? Let me go! Let me go!"

Luffy glared at Martin, who was wearing a straw hat, and started cursing. But for some reason, he felt weak and limp all over, unable to muster any strength.

Martin turned and smiled as he watched Luffy struggle. To prevent him from being uneasy on the journey, he handcuffed him with sea stone handcuffs when he was locked in the single-person version of the Harem Ship, so that Luffy, as a Devil Fruit user, could not do anything.

"Don't struggle anymore. I've put seastone handcuffs on you. Seastone is the nemesis of all Devil Fruit users. No matter how you move, you can't get rid of them."

"What do you want to do to me? I have nothing to offer!" Luffy roared at Martin with his mouth wide open.

"What do I want to do? Didn't you always say you wanted to be a pirate? Kidnapping is exactly what pirates love to do," Martin said with a smile.

"Give me back my straw hat." Luffy wriggled his body, crawling like an insect next to Martin, and then spoke.

“That’s impossible. I’m not going to give you back your hat unless you defeat me.” Martin then took the hat in his hand and started spinning it around.

"You wait, I'll definitely beat you to a pulp!" Luffy shouted these words with all his might.

"I'll be waiting for that day," Martin agreed with a smile, thinking to himself, "That's impossible."

……

"Haha, Bucky, what brings you to call me? How's it going in the East Blue? Have you found any treasure?"

"Shanks, something terrible has happened! Luffy, Luffy is missing!"

"Hahaha, Buggy, you're joking with me again. There are still months before Luffy sets sail. How could he possibly disappear now?"

"It really is Shanks. How could I joke about something like this? Luffy is really missing."

"Buggy, you've been protecting Luffy the whole time, how come you didn't even know he was missing?"

"With that old man Garp around, I don't dare get too close, but I guarantee no ships have left Windmill Village recently, so Luffy can't possibly leave there."

No, a ship left. It was Luffy's grandfather, Garp's, dog-headed ship. Could it be that Luffy left with his grandfather and went to the Marines?

"Buggy, no way! Luffy is saying he wants to be the Pirate King, how could he possibly leave with Garp? That's absolutely impossible."

"I also think it's impossible for Shanks, but if that old man Garp insists on taking Luffy away, Luffy can't resist with his strength. After thinking about it, this is the only possibility."

"Hmm, Buggy makes a good point. You can search Windmill Village thoroughly, and I'll ask around to see if Luffy has been taken away by Garp."

"Okay, then you should find out quickly. I'll also go to the Goa Kingdom to see if that bastard Luffy has run off there."

"Bucky, don't worry too much. It's all fate, and no one can change it." Shanks said this, but his face was clouded with worry. The world had changed too fast in the past few years, and some things were beyond his knowledge.

"Fine, that's settled then! That bastard Luffy is always causing trouble; he just disappeared at this crucial moment. Isn't that delaying my treasure hunt?"

"Pakistan has plenty of treasure, and the biggest treasure is still waiting for us. The time is almost up, and your wish can be fulfilled."

"Understood, Shanks!"

New World Illusion Island

Martin, piloting the solo version of the Harem, slowly brought it to a stop at the Temple of Good and Evil base, then dragged Luffy into the base.

"Captain, your new hat is nice. Where did you buy it?" Enel greeted him with a smile.

"How are you doing, Enni? You look like you've gained weight again. This hat is one of a kind; it's the hat worn by Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King. There's only one of its kind in the whole world," Martin greeted him warmly, then said with a smile.

"Captain, where did you get the Pirate King's hat?" Enel chuckled.

“Hahaha, I stole Enel from you.” Martin then took off his hat and said, “It’s a really nice hat, the more I look at it, the more I like it.”

Martin held the hat up to Luffy and shook it incessantly, which made Luffy grit his teeth and bang his head against the ground in anger.

"Give me back my hat! Give me back my hat right now!" Luffy roared.

"Click-clack!"

Martin crouched down and unlocked Luffy's sea stone handcuffs.

After Luffy was freed from the seastone handcuffs, his Devil Fruit powers allowed him to quickly regain his stamina, and he pounced on Martin like a madman.

Rubber machine gun!

"Bang bang bang!"

Enel flashed in front of Martin and caught Luffy's attack.

“Enel will teach him a lesson and show him how weak he is,” Martin said, fiddling with his hat.

"Understood, Captain. I promise I won't kill him," Enel said with a smile.

He's indestructible because rubber doesn't get electrified.

"Oh!"

"Oh!"

"Oh!"

Luffy kept rubbing his arm, looking at Enel in disbelief. He was clearly a user of the Gum-Gum Fruit, so why did it still hurt so much when this guy hit him, just like when his grandfather hit him?

"Kid, now you know how ridiculous your words are! You can't beat just anyone on the high seas," Martin said, laughing at Luffy.

"I don't care, I'm going to be the Pirate King! Give me back my hat!" Luffy said, tilting his head to the side.

"I'll give you back your hat if you can defeat me, but you need to train hard first so you can defeat me."

After hearing Martin's words, Luffy, though unwilling to admit it, could only acquiesce.

Seeing that Luffy did not object, Martin continued, "Go carry that rock on your back, and then run around the island. I can't stop until I do."

“Carrying a rock? Such a big rock, it looks so heavy, can’t I not carry it?” Luffy refused, looking at the rock that was as big as a house.

“Not carrying it? Then I’m not giving this hat back to you.” Martin then put the straw hat back on his head.

"I'll definitely knock you out of here," Luffy said fiercely, then turned around, walked to the rock, picked it up, and carried it on his back.

"Hurry up, hurry up, what are you looking at me for?" Martin glared at Luffy and said.

"Clap clap clap!"

So Luffy picked up the stone and started running around the island. However, Luffy had very poor stamina and got tired after running for a short time, and his speed became slower and slower. Martin had already anticipated this situation and prepared a lot of meat for Luffy.

Upon seeing so much meat, Luffy forgot all his dissatisfaction and pounced on it to devour it.

And so, with the straw hat as leverage, Luffy began training relentlessly, while the seas were thrown into chaos and bloodshed because of Luffy's disappearance.

After learning of his grandson's disappearance, Garp returned to the East Blue without stopping. Any ships that dared to fly the pirate flag along the way were reduced to fragments and disappeared into the vast ocean. He visited the bases of all the pirate crews in the East Blue and only calmed down when the pirates in the East Blue disappeared.

The nobles of the Goa Kingdom also suffered. After Buggy learned that Luffy had a conflict with a noble, he robbed and kidnapped all the nobles, causing Buggy's reputation to soar in the East Blue and his bounty to rise to 5,000 Berries.

Time flew by, and several months passed in the blink of an eye. Luffy's birthday, May 5th, was fast approaching, and he grew increasingly impatient. Martin was simply too strong; even with his relentless training, he couldn't defeat him. And forget Martin, he couldn't even beat his subordinate Enel. However, his own strength had increased considerably.

"What am I going to do? We made a promise to set sail when we were seventeen, but now I can't even get my straw hat back, and I'm stuck on this island." Luffy said dejectedly to the sea.

Martin has witnessed Luffy's hard work over the past few months. Sure enough, pressure is the driving force, and Luffy is now much stronger than he was in the original story.
