America: Starting with the Last Liberty
Chapter 39 Searching for the Truth
Rosen noticed Blake's concerns; the dark-haired girl was currently struggling between restraint and desire.
So Rosen leaned close to Blake's ear and whispered something.
"Shall we go to a nearby hotel?"
Rosen's breath in her ear seemed to drain the last of Blake's strength. She slumped into Rosen's arms and nodded almost imperceptibly.
So Rosen carried the exhausted Blake back to the beach and walked ashore.
I think I just saw a nice hotel called Dolphin Hotel.
I wonder if this Dolphin Hotel has any strange rooms?
In a luxurious room at the Dolphin Hotel, Blake finally made the most important preparation of her life, revealing her true beauty.
No matter what industry it is, being a pioneer is always very difficult, because the hardships and obstacles they face are completely different from those faced by those who come later.
So both Blake and Rosen experienced the pain of being pioneers.
Blake shed tears many times, but she persevered and took the initiative to seek the truth.
Unfortunately, the black-haired girl, who didn't particularly enjoy sports, was ultimately lacking in physical fitness.
But thinking about it, it makes sense. Blake has such a heavy burden on him, so any kind of exercise he does must be very strenuous.
"Rosen, am I really useless?"
After the study session, Blake listened to Rosen's strong, powerful heartbeat, his fair skin still flushed with a hint of pink.
"How could that be? You've already done a fantastic job!"
Although Rosen said that, his actions didn't seem to convey the same meaning.
Blake gritted her teeth; she still didn't want Rosen to work too hard.
"Rosen, I've secretly watched some movies before, is that okay...?"
Rosen tilted his head and glanced at Blake. America was bold enough to admit without hesitation that she had seen it.
"Would you like to give it a try?"
Blake bit his lip; observing up close was still somewhat frightening.
"Rosen, I'm willing to try for you!"
Since the black-haired girl had already said so, how could Rosen bear to refuse a girl's pursuit of the truth?
Soon enough, the room was filled with the sounds of people practicing their speeches.
In the end, this learning experience came to a perfect conclusion.
Although Blake was a little tired, he was also satisfied when he saw Rosen's contentment.
The two lingered in the room until evening. Rosen originally wanted to take Blake back to Caltech, but Blake was seriously injured and had great difficulty getting out of bed.
With no other option, Rosen had to let Blake stay at the Dolphin Hotel for one night, and he also had to ask for leave from his class on Monday.
Otherwise, if I limp to school, I'll probably be treated like an animal.
In response, Blake bit Rosen's shoulder to vent his anger and embarrassment.
"It's all your fault!"
Rosen stayed at the hotel with Blake all day and did nothing else.
Rosen is quite worried that Blake's current state might cause him to develop a fear of this kind of thing in the future, so it's better to proceed gradually.
The next day, Rosen originally wanted to continue spending time with Blake, but his phone suddenly rang; it was Mia calling.
"Rosen, didn't you ask me to find an apartment? I found a nice one near Caltech, do you want to come and take a look?"
Caltech? What a coincidence!
Rosen glanced at Blake, who pretended not to care, but his ears were already perked up.
"Um, Mia, I'm a bit busy right now. How about I contact you later?"
"Okay! But that apartment is really nice; it might get rented out soon!"
"I understand! I will contact you as soon as possible."
Rosen hung up the phone quickly.
Blake looked at Rosen, his expression unreadable.
"Who was that girl just now...?"
"My friend's sister, I asked her to help me find a new place to live. You know how terrible the apartment I lived in before was."
Rosen remained completely calm, because he had never had any relationship with Mia in the first place.
Blake had actually overheard some of the conversation, since she was leaning against Rosen's chest, but she wanted to hear it from Rosen himself.
A faint smile appeared on Blake's face, but she still pretended to be magnanimous.
"Oh, she's my friend's sister! Rosen, since you have a nice apartment, let's go check it out! Good apartments aren't easy to find in Los Angeles!"
Rosen looked very hesitant.
"Blake, but you..."
Blake really liked how much Rosen cared about her, but she wouldn't try to keep Rosen by her side.
"It's okay, I feel much better now, there shouldn't be any major problems."
"Okay, I'll come back to the hotel to be with you as soon as I've finished looking at the house."
"Um!"
After leaving the Dolphin Hotel, Rosen called Mia, who asked him to meet her at a place called Duloto Cafe.
However, upon arriving at Duloto Cafe, Rosen discovered that this place was actually a shop run by Mia and her brother Dom.
When Rosen arrived, Dominic, Vince, and Jesse were all there.
After exchanging greetings, Dominic spoke up.
"Hey, Rosen, why didn't you tell me you were looking for a place to stay?"
"I thought that if I told Mia, you would know too."
"That's true!"
When Mia saw Rosen coming over, her eyes lit up, and she took out the information she had prepared beforehand and showed it to Rosen.
"The apartment I told you about is right next to Caltech. It became vacant because a foreign student graduated and stopped moving in. You'd better make a decision soon, otherwise it might be rented out again in the next few days."
Looking at the photos in the brochure, Rosen felt that the apartment was indeed quite nice.
However, we'll have to go to the site to find out the specifics.
"Mia, I'd like to go check if the landlord is available now?"
"I'll contact the landlord; there shouldn't be any problems."
While Mia was on the phone contacting the landlord, Rosen chatted with Dominic while looking around at his surroundings.
Duloto Cafe is not large, but its decor is very cozy.
However, this coffee shop didn't seem to be doing very well; there were hardly any customers inside even during the day.
However, Dominic and Mia didn't expect to eat at this coffee shop at all; it was most likely just a front.
Just then, an unexpected customer walked into the coffee shop.
"Boss, a sandwich and an iced Americano, please!"
