Myth: I am God!
Chapter 3 Alas, meeting God
The men talked until midnight.
When the atmosphere gets heated, they start to plan their famous future as if they were bragging.
They were spouting wild and unrealistic fantasies.
They said they would build the village into a castle so their daughter could become a princess. They said they would build a huge, terrifying vineyard on the plain, so that the people of Argos would only eat their grapes. Some even boasted that they would build a large ship, carrying a ship full of soldiers, and sail down the river all the way to Argos...
They squeezed out the grape juice to drink, and since they had no cups, they gathered around a rotten barrel full of grape juice, using their hands as vessels to gulp it down.
This was the happiest night for everyone since the disaster struck...
The banquet didn't end until late into the night.
When it was time to leave.
The old man called out to Yara, rolled up the map, and handed it to her.
Yara was very surprised. He was about to ask a question when the old man interrupted him.
"You seemed quite interested in this map just now?"
Yara nodded.
The old man nodded and continued, "This map was given to me by your father. It helped me a lot... Later, disaster struck, your father died, and my children all died too..."
At this point, both the old man and Yara looked somewhat forlorn.
"Now, I'm returning it to its rightful owner. Of course, there's no need to thank me; it was rightfully yours... You'll be the village chief in the future, and you should have a good map with you. It will be of great help to you."
Yara thanked him and accepted the map.
The old man smiled and bid farewell to Yara, watching Yara's figure disappear into the night before slowly returning alone to his empty tent.
......
Yara carefully tucked the scroll with the map drawn on it into her bosom. The scroll trembled slightly in her arms and continued to emit a gentle glow.
He felt like a walking torch, but no one around him noticed anything unusual.
When he returned to his and his wife's tent, the campfire outside had gone out, and soft, gentle snoring could be heard from inside; his wife was asleep.
Yara first opened the scroll and studied it from the outside. Only he could perceive the dazzling golden light, and only he could discover the golden characters hidden beneath the map.
"A... Hua... Ye... Wan."
After studying it for a while, Yara still couldn't figure out what it was, so she had to give up for the time being.
late at night.
Yara kept thinking about everything that had happened that day. First, there was the inexplicable bad luck, then the strange glowing map, and then the two words "Canaan" that slipped out of his mouth—he didn't even know how to write the word "Canaan."
Yara leaned back on the bundle, unable to sleep, and decided to go out for some fresh air.
He then casually took out that strange scroll.
I found a place to pee.
Suddenly, an idea struck him, and he quickly unrolled the scroll and returned to the vicinity of the camp.
He looked at the glowing words in his hand—
【YHVH】
"Ye Wei..."
"Yavi..."
"Yawei..."
"Yahweh!"
next moment--
The scroll in his hand suddenly burst forth with dazzling light, as if an eye had opened in the sky. A golden beam of light descended from the dark night, illuminating the scroll and reflecting the sacred name—
【Yarwee】
Yara was startled by the blinding holy light.
I closed my eyes involuntarily.
And when he opened his eyes again.
What he saw was a scene he would never forget in his entire life. Even after his death, as long as the sun and the moon still exist, this memory will be passed down through blood and faith to an eternal future that time cannot reach.
He saw—
The dreamlike clouds and mists bowed down at His feet.
A twisted, raven-like black mist, like a plaything in His hands.
The sacred and magnificent phantom was beyond Yara's mortal eyes to perceive, as if it did not exist in the world. However, an inescapable, divinely ordained intuition warned him—
He is everywhere.
Yara had heard tales of the "gods": the king of the gods who ruled over thunder and the sky, the sun god who rode a divine steed, the sea god who controlled storms and the ocean, and so on...
But his intuition told him that these so-called "gods" could only consider themselves "mortals" in the face of what was right before him...
His greatness is like a sacred decree.
Whatever exists, must be known; and whatever is known, must be worshipped.
Yara knelt on the ground in the most crude and devout manner.
His inner adoration and awe were deeply engraved in the depths of his soul, more devout than the worship of hurricanes and thunder, more sincere than the worship of the sun and the earth.
"I...I...How should I address you?"
Yara was so excited that he trembled all over.
For a long time, that great being remained motionless.
Yara turned pale with fright and dared not move.
He thought that his rudeness had angered this being.
But in the next moment.
A sacred sound, seemingly far away yet also close at hand, rang out.
The sound was as loud as the roar of ten thousand thunderbolts, the pounding of ten thousand drums, yet it was also as gentle as a breeze, the chirping of mosquitoes, the call of an old man, and the laughter of a child. This sound contained the sounds of all things, or perhaps the sounds of all things originated from Him.
Yahweh.
Following that voice was another ancient, hoarse voice, but with a touch of affected affectation—
You must call upon the Lord or God, and not speak lightly of his true name.
"God...God."
Yara bowed down in fear and trembling, and worshipped once more.
......
And then Yara opened her eyes again.
Everything in front of me disappeared.
Instead, the sky brightened, and his wife called out with earnest worry.
"Yara!"
"Yara, what's wrong!"
Yara gradually regained consciousness. His mind was a bit muddled and he was groggy. After drinking a sip of cold water with a grape juice flavor that his wife handed him, which was in a wooden bucket, Yara gradually came to his senses.
"What's wrong with you? I heard you suddenly collapse at the door last night, it really startled me."
Yara wiped his face, swallowed hard, and then belatedly said,
You might not believe it...
"I met the true God last night."
"?"
The wife looked puzzled.
"Yes, maybe it's a dream... but I feel like it must be real."
Yara then took out the scroll with the map drawn on it, but found that there was no golden light on it at all, which made Yara hesitate again.
"Was it really a dream?"
Yara was somewhat undecided.
Seeing her husband's unusual expression, his wife became worried and said, "You must be too tired lately. Even if Zeus wanted to see you, you still need to rest."
Arah nodded, even if it was true that "Yahweh" or "the Lord" had summoned him.
He also needs to rebuild his home properly first.
However, Yara still carried that scroll with him.
He felt that this scroll was very important.
