Monsters: Evolving from Titans to Ancient Gods

Chapter 28 The Burial Ground of Gods

The war had ended, but Longbo was still thousands of miles away, which made him feel terrible.

This may be one of the drawbacks of beyond-line-of-sight observation: he could clearly see what was happening thousands of miles away, but he was unable to get there quickly.

It would be fine if he didn't know, but seeing something like this happen with his own eyes and not being involved made him feel like he missed out on hundreds of millions.

Meanwhile, at the edge of that desolate battlefield, Godzilla glanced at his fellow race members, who were still alive despite their numerous wounds, and finally turned to look in the direction of Lumberjack once more.

It sensed an unusual danger, seemingly emanating from a Titan. Although it didn't know exactly who the Titan was, the sense of crisis was clearly felt around it.

In the past, it would have taken the initiative to confront the threat and launch a fierce attack in order to eliminate the threat and consolidate its own position.

But it doesn't do that nowadays.

Its power increased more than once after its awakening, but it was still not enough.

Because many things have appeared in this world that make it feel dangerous, and these things exist on the surface of the earth, in the earth's core, and even in the outer world.

Finally, Godzilla let out a weary growl, took heavy steps, and left the battlefield.

The world is becoming increasingly dangerous, and it needs to evolve once again to gain sufficient power to cope with the crisis.

Unharmed, Lidor caught up with Godzilla first, deliberately mimicking Godzilla's majestic appearance, but the bewilderment in its eyes was completely different from Godzilla's.

Godzilla Noodles made no move in response to Lidor's deliberate actions, and the former tyrant displayed qualities different from those of a Titan at this moment.

As Dagon watched this scene, his blood-stained beast eyes flickered slightly. The deep affection between this foster father and son was beyond the Titans' imagination.

In the world of Titans, this situation does not even occur between individuals who are truly related by blood.

In the end, Dagon and the other atomic behemoth kept this memorable scene in mind, and then dragged their heavy bodies away across the scorched earth.

On the other side, Longbo watched as several Titans left one after another and completely lost interest, turning away with a sense of regret.

Although he probably won't gain anything from this situation, it's still worthwhile to join in the fun at such a rare and grand event.

Pity.

...

When Longbo returned to the other side of the canyon, the beasts realized that the war in the distance had come to an end, and they scattered and fled.

Longbo glanced at them casually, but didn't find any giant beasts that caught his attention, so he stopped paying attention.

His gaze returned to the original path. The herd of mammoths had already fled the moment the aftershocks dissipated, but the white, eight-legged behemoth was still there.

It still lay in a pool of blood, its twisted hooves hanging limply, emitting a faint wail, the thick stench of blood spreading in the breeze.

Faced with the enormous beast that looked like it was about to die, Longbo shook his head and finally took another step.

...

More than a month later, on a plain somewhere in the inner world, Longbo arrived at a brown mountain range he had never been to before.

He casually tossed the red-backed skeleton demon, whose neck had been snapped, behind him, leaving the wart dogs to devour it.

Looking up at the mountains before him, Longbo realized that this place was unusual.

The entire mountain range stretches for thousands of miles, but apart from one peak on the edge, there is no greenery to be seen; the entire area is brown, shrouded in a hazy, gray-black mist.

The deathly mountains exuded an aura that Longbo found repulsive and terrifying. Many towering peaks had been broken in half, with sections of the mountains lying haphazardly all around.

The shattered boulders are scattered for hundreds of kilometers along the edge of the mountain range. Each fragment seems to contain the power of death, stripping the earth's inner world of its vitality, leaving nothing but barren land in its wake.

Looking up, it's as if countless gray-brown stains, symbolizing death and darkness, have been scattered across the lush, verdant inner world of the earth.

Clearly, long ago, something containing special power ravaged this place, turning the mountains stretching for thousands of miles into a dead land, devoid of any life.

Furthermore, judging from the distinct layers of color on the surface, this erosion of death and darkness is spreading towards the entire inner world and even the Earth.

Its actions were punished when another being descended, stood in this dead land and fought against it, ultimately killing it and stopping the erosion.

Why was Longbo so certain that the being that caused a corner of the Earth's core to become a dead zone was dead?

The fact that he lingered there for so long, yet the panel didn't issue him any new missions, almost proves that the culprit is dead.

Otherwise, something that looks like it's not going to be messed with would definitely be on the elimination list on the panel.

With stats like that, a 40-meter-tall newly formed Titan could definitely take on the powerful Arcane monster, the Golden Dragon, in a one-on-one fight. It's absolutely possible for them to do something like that.

After making a general deduction about the scene before him, Longbo had another idea in his mind.

"Even something capable of slaying such a calamity couldn't reverse the situation in this area?"

With this question in mind, Longbo began searching for any possible information on the edge of this desolate area.

He searched through suspicious areas amidst the earthquake-like roar, finally finding the answer in the ruins of an Iwe settlement on the edge of a desolate zone.

It was a hidden area located within a tattered light curtain, where rows of emerald crystals interspersed with black veins stood tall, the once vibrant colors of this place now completely gray.

Houses collapsed, and human remains littered the ground, their bodies showing varying degrees of mutation, growing limbs that defied description.

Some of the corpses even showed signs of splitting, as if a second head was about to split off. The grayish-white bones were stuck together like a sticky liquid, and the facial features were twisted and deformed, revealing the pain and despair before death.

Right in front of those bones, in front of the settlement, stood a huge stone monument, seemingly erected by the descendants of the survivors who returned.

Although they didn't have the courage to bury the twisted body, they left behind the events of that day.

The stone tablet is engraved with an abstract mural depicting three meteors bursting out of a vortex and crashing down on the mountains, bringing devastating disaster.

The crimson giant stood amidst the mountains, joining forces with a colossal beast whose chest was inlaid with crystal to battle the formless calamity, ultimately destroying everything.

The second mural depicts mountains dyed black, with the tribe's people wailing in pain and their bodies undergoing mutations.

The last mural depicts a red giant destroying "Calamity," but he and his companions also fall, turning into a rain of light and disappearing.

"Ultraman..."

The red giant has a pointed head and a "crystal" on its chest; it's undoubtedly Ultraman.

Longbo took in all of this and roughly figured out what had happened.

Earth seems to have been targeted by something extraordinary. Judging from the mutations in the people here, it appears to be an unknown entity of the Kree type.

Ultraman arrived here, or perhaps he came after the "calamity," and destroyed the "calamity" before the timeline became serious.

But Ultraman eventually turned into a shower of light, presumably perishing together with the "Calamity" of the Cthulhu series.

Judging from the shape of this Ultraman's face, he doesn't seem to be from the Land of Light. He looks more like an Ultraman from the ancient era. He probably doesn't have a life-fixing device, so if he's dead, he's probably really dead.

perish together.

"No wonder this land of death couldn't be reversed..."
