The Necromancer's Church Management Manual
Chapter 3 Dragon Knight
Footsteps came from the top of the tower, descending the stairs. Gar could barely make out the conversation of the people coming.
"Jace, should we go check out the Oak Guild now?"
"Why go to the guild? Tomorrow is the Dragon Knight's year-end assessment, and I was thinking of going back now to review the manual."
"Hey, I already told you that thing is just to scare you newbies. What emergency handling, what postpartum care for Feilong... Listen to me, just fill in the answer section and you'll definitely pass the test."
"Maybe, but I'm still a little nervous."
So, are you going or not?
"Tomorrow, I guess. Today I need to prepare food for my Diliana. You know, at this time, the cafeteria's special dragon nutritional meal is almost sold out."
"I knew it...ever since I got your precious dragon, I've drifted apart from my best buddy."
"Ha ha......"
The two dragon knights chatted as they walked to the bottom of the tower and opened the door to the outside world.
"See you tomorrow, Jess."
"See you tomorrow, Brand." Jess waved and ran towards the dragon camp.
Brand shook his head helplessly, stretched, and the glowing crystal outside the door cast an extremely long shadow of him.
Just then, his shadow moved, and Hans emerged from the shadows, grabbing Brand by the throat and knocking him down.
boom--
As soon as the tower doors closed, Brand immediately gripped Hans's wrists tightly with both hands, trying to break free and get some air.
He was stronger than Hans, and Hans's hand was lifted up little by little.
Just when he was about to see a glimmer of hope for a counterattack, a beggar dressed in a black robe walked up to him.
Gal made his move, punching Brand in the face and shattering the power Brand had just gathered.
Brand was still struggling, but his face was flushed from lack of oxygen, and he could only stare wide-eyed trying to make out the beggar's face.
Then, he fainted.
Gar immediately fell silent and pressed himself against the wall to listen to the sounds outside. Fortunately, the dragon did not notice, and Jess, who had just left, did not return.
Phew, thankfully no one outside noticed the commotion. The dragon knight is indeed powerful; even with Hans's perfect sneak attack, he almost managed to break free.
Gal was filled with emotion, but his hands did not stop. He stripped Brand of his dragon knight suit and put it on himself. Then he tied Brand up, gagged him, and threw him into the secret passage he had come from.
During this time, he also rummaged through Brand's personal belongings.
Dragon Knight Identity Card, Platinum Adventurer Badge, 3 Dragon Pattern Silver Coins, and several keys.
Unfortunately, there was nothing that was of any use to him.
He was somewhat surprised when he saw the Platinum Adventurer Badge.
I never expected that even a single dragon knight guarding Nidhoggburg would possess platinum-level strength.
It's important to know that the world's recognized adventure rating is divided into tiers of 10 levels each: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, Grandmaster, and Legendary.
Garr and Hans are at levels 20-29, currently just average Gold level, which is the level that most followers can reach. It becomes increasingly difficult to advance beyond that level.
However, here, even a random dragon knight is far stronger than them.
Thinking of this, Gar clenched his fist.
His strongest trump card right now is summoning Edmund. Not to mention that summoning him requires setting up a complicated magic circle, his own strength is insufficient, so the strength of Edmund he can summon is at most at the master level.
If he encounters an enemy stronger than a master, he's doomed.
Phew, I need to be more careful from now on and consider the consequences before I do anything.
Garri adjusted his thick dragon knight robes and said in a deep voice:
"Hans, you've done well. You may step down now."
"Yes, Lord Andrew." Hans vanished into black mist.
Then, Gal opened the tower door.
A wide road comes into view, stretching out in all directions and pointing to different towers.
Tents and supplies were piled up on both sides of the road, and soldiers were patrolling back and forth in a tense atmosphere.
In Andrew's memory, the scene behind the walls of Gussenburg was much the same, except that Nidhoggburg had an additional feature.
Those are wyverns! Dozens of wyverns are lined up neatly on one side, like well-trained soldiers, their posture solemn and their eyes sharp. If an emergency occurs, they will certainly be able to move out immediately without hesitation.
Garr's heart pounded wildly; he felt as if he had been thrust onto the stage at the last minute.
He currently possesses extremely limited intelligence, aside from the very vague locations of important places given by Edmund, and the information he overheard in the tower compartment about the dragon knights' year-end assessment to be held tomorrow.
As for what the dragon knight should do at what time, he had no idea.
And so, Garr infiltrated the enemy's headquarters alone.
Although he was reluctant to admit it, his legs were indeed a little weak. In his previous life, he was just a corporate slave, and he had only ever seen this kind of infiltration in TV dramas.
In short, just act like most dragon riders and don't attract attention.
Gal walked down the steps with a tense expression, carefully observing the movements of the others, and eventually followed behind a small team of about a dozen people.
The small group had just left the dragon camp, their journey filled with cheerful laughter. Garr could tell at a glance that they were off duty.
If you follow behind them, you can leave this place.
Indeed, they soon left the area and entered the main city of Nidhoggburg, where a bustling scene came into view.
The architecture here is slightly different from that of Gusenberg, leaning more towards the ancient Roman style, with arches and domes. However, these buildings are taller and more magnificent, and Gar felt as if he had shrunk several times over when he stood here.
After coming out, Garr decisively left the group. He had been listening to their conversation all the way, and it was mostly meaningless talk.
For example, the new receptionist at the Oak Guild has big eyes, a beauty mark, a broad chest, and long, slender legs. Or, the leader of the diamond-level adventurer party, Gray Wolf, is rejected after confessing his feelings to his teammates, and the party is on the verge of collapse...
Gar almost got lured to the Oak Guild.
Clutching the newly acquired dragon-patterned silver coin, Gal walked into a bakery by the roadside.
"Hello, I'd like a piece of bread." He pushed a silver coin to the counter and pointed to the more expensive bread.
"20 copper coins, here's your change of 80 copper coins."
Then, holding the bread, he looked at a dragon knight dressed like him in the bakery, who was busy eating a piece of dry bread.
Garl just checked; it's the cheapest bread in the store, priced at 2 copper coins.
So he moved closer.
"Hey bro, the year-end performance review is tomorrow, and I haven't prepared at all. Can you do me a favor?"
As he spoke, he pushed a silver coin with a dragon design in front of the other person.
