Chapter 51 Arrival at the Sweet Forest
Early in the morning, Ian groggily opened his eyes.
The sunlight was blinding. It was another new day.
He glanced at the experimental field subconsciously.
The two glowing veins were still shining, not extinguished all night.
The sprout has grown taller, not just a little, but visibly taller.
It only sprouted from the ground last night, and now it's as tall as a little finger, with two leaves unfolding and stretching out in the sunlight.
Ian's [Analysis] has been restarted.
Magic concentration: Normal.
Growth rate: Abnormal.
Ian always felt that something was missing, and just staying in the fields day after day wasn't enough.
It's still just an experimental stage, but I already feel like I can't live without the land.
If the area that needs to be planted increases in the future, I'm afraid I won't be able to manage it all.
Hopefully, some agricultural talents will emerge in the future...
……
Just then, footsteps could be heard in the distance.
Charles walked over with elegant steps and stopped in front of Ian.
"Lord Ian, are you alright?" Charles asked, bowing his head. "The teleportation array in Sweet Forest is ready and will begin teleportation shortly. Would you like to take a look?"
"So fast?"
"Miss Kiki's cutting operation went more smoothly than expected; the dwarves managed to avoid causing any major chaos." Charles's expression held a rare hint of elation. "In any case, Sweet Forest will soon reach the receiving point in the open area outside the dragon's nest..."
Charles didn't have a chance to continue.
Spatial rifts have begun to appear in the sky.
Ian quickly followed Charles to the receiving point outside the Dragon's Nest; the Sweet Forest plot was about to arrive...
The reserved open space was packed with people.
Uh, no... it was filled with bizarre creatures.
Charles had reached the edge of the clearing and took out a thick roll of parchment from his pocket. It was a diagram of the magical veins of the Sweet Forest drawn by Ian.
His face was paler than usual, probably from nervousness.
The dwarfs ran around, carrying various measuring instruments. Qiqi stood at the front, her goggles pushed up to her forehead, her eyes fixed on the sky.
The rock monsters stood silently at the teleportation point, like small hills, responsible for catching the landmasses that were teleported in.
Angry Horn brought most of the tribe's minotaurs, about a hundred or so, who were squatting on the east side of the open space, responsible for dragging the land.
Behind the minotaurs followed a large group of crystal spiders, almost all of which were half a person tall, crystal clear, with eight long legs gleaming with a faint blue light, lying quietly at the back of the group.
The spiders' leader was a tall, slender, humanoid woman with six long, crystalline appendages extending from her back. She had fair skin, a slender waist, and a languid smile on her alluring face. She sat cross-legged on a crystal spider, lazily yawning.
Ian keenly spotted the languid, mature woman, and her somewhat familiar appearance made him exclaim, "The Spider Queen? Where did I get here? Is this still another world?"
"The Spider Queen? You mean Elise? She's just a spider leader at best." Lilith had somehow appeared beside Ian.
Ian was picked up by Lilith, who carried him into the shadows. When they reappeared, they were in a good spot with excellent visibility.
……
"They're here!" Charles shouted.
The moment the words left his mouth, the sky split open.
A silvery-white spatial rift appeared out of nowhere, rapidly expanding from a few meters long to tens of meters, its edges shimmering with unstable arcs of light.
Deep within the crevice, a verdant forest can be faintly seen.
Then, that small patch of forest fell from a few meters in the air.
A complete piece of land, with seven or eight tall trees growing on it, and dense bushes beneath them, even a small patch of berry bushes. It fell from the sky, accompanied by a whistling sound, crashing down on the designated receiving point.
"Get out of the way! Get out of the way!" Kiki screamed.
The rock monsters moved; dozens of enormous rock hands stretched towards the sky, steadily supporting the forest.
The impact shook the ground, and the resulting strong winds overturned several running dwarves, but the rock monsters remained motionless.
Amidst the massive cloud of smoke, a dwarf shouted, "Three meters off target!"
"Drag! Drag him over there!"
As the Spider Girl lightly tapped her finger, swarms of crystal spiders surged toward the forest floor, the thud of their legs hitting the ground creating a continuous thud.
Before long, the entire plot of land was covered with spiders, which began to spin shimmering silk, wrapping themselves around the forest floor.
The minotaurs rushed forward, grabbed the spider silk at the edge of the plot, and used it as a rope, pulling with a whooshing sound.
With the combined efforts of dozens of minotaurs, the forest was moved inch by inch to its designated location.
Charles unfurled the parchment and shouted, "Left! A little more to the left! Okay! Stop!"
The first forest has landed.
Ian breathed a sigh of relief, but was also somewhat surprised. The silk spun by those giant spiders was incredibly resilient, and strangely beautiful, with a translucent sheen...
While Ian was still thinking about the spider silk, a second rift appeared in the air, attracting his attention.
Then came the third and fourth rounds.
The sky looked as if it had been torn apart, with silvery cracks everywhere, from which pieces of forest fell out. The rock monsters were busy as bees, the minotaurs' shouts rose and fell, and the dwarves' instruments beeped incessantly.
Chaotic, yet orderly.
When they got to the fifth piece, Vivian arrived.
She had slipped out of the dragon's nest at some point, standing barefoot at the edge of the open space, half a small cake dangling from her mouth, her golden vertical pupils gleaming.
"Wow!" she exclaimed. "It's so lively!"
Charles quickly went to greet her: "Lady Vivian, what brings you here?"
"Just here to watch the fun!" Vivian said matter-of-factly.
She moved closer to Charles and glanced at the parchment in his hand: "What's this?"
"The magical map of Sweet Forest, drawn by Lord Ian, is used to guide the reconstruction of Sweet Forest."
Vivian blinked and snatched the parchment away.
Charles was stunned: "Lady Vivian?"
"I'll direct!" Vivian exclaimed, holding up the parchment, her eyes gleaming. "This looks like so much fun!"
Charles opened his mouth as if to say something, but in the end he said nothing.
Vivian had already leaped onto a large rock, unfurled the parchment, and shouted to the sky, "Next piece! Put it on the left! To the left!"
Everyone was looking at her.
Ian nestled in Lilith's arms, thinking to himself that he had just expected it; Vivian simply had no resistance to giant jigsaw puzzles.
But strangely enough, Vivian's command was... flawless?
Even though she had never learned to read diagrams before and it was her first time using one, the locations she called out were almost identical to the markings on the diagram each time.
If she occasionally mispronounces a word, she will immediately correct herself, as if she had never mispronounced it before.
