Super God Academy: Kabuto

Chapter 168 Untitled Draft 4

The Emerald Galaxy. This star system is named after its core, a giant star that emits a unique emerald-green glow and is in a remarkably stable state. In the known history of the universe, it was a relatively secluded star system, devoid of any significant civilizations except for a few basic astronomical observatories. However, since the "Fall of the King of Gods," an event that shocked the gods, took place here, the Emerald Galaxy has been imbued with a heavy and special meaning—it is a symbol of the end of the Age of the Old Gods (for some beings), the stage where the Angel Queen Keisha "took her final bow," and a coordinate where order and faith once collapsed.

At this moment, this star field is more "lively" than usual, yet also more desolate.

The commotion stemmed from the fact that, centered on that emerald star, a vast space with a radius of several light-minutes was enveloped by an energy field that was nearly transparent, constantly refracting an eerie purplish-black halo. Within this energy field, the visible spatial structure exhibited an unnatural smoothness and fragility, like a membrane stretched to its limit, about to burst. Countless tiny, eerie blue energy veins, like blood vessels or circuits, wove and spread spontaneously in the void, forming an incredibly complex and breathtakingly large three-dimensional ritual array. The source of these energy veins was the Great Clock—which, at this moment, did not reveal its complete physical form, but rather, in a form akin to a "field," evenly spread and permeated its terrifying computational power and energy control capabilities into every microscopic particle of this space.

The silence was palpable because within this meticulously crafted area, there was no life activity in the conventional sense, no starships traversing the area, no roaring energy cannons, only the silent, pulsating energy channels, and the "phantom" Karl, standing like a sculpture at several key nodes of the ritual array. He had only one physical body, but through the aid of the Great Clock and the ultimate application of phantom technology, his consciousness and power were simultaneously projected onto multiple nodes, precisely controlling the flow of every wisp of energy and the calibration of every rune.

His choice of the Emerald Galaxy was no accident. This was the site of the fall of the "Old Goddess" Keisha, containing powerful disturbances in causality and echoes of faith (albeit negative ones). The spatial structure was also relatively fragile and riddled with "cracks" due to the stellar explosion and the dispersal of divine atoms. More importantly, Keisha's "fall" itself was a practical verification of Karl's theory of "ultimate fear." Opening the void here held a symbolic, ritualistic significance for him—a fait accompli of the Old Gods' complete departure to usher in a new era.

Deep within the Deathsong Academy, Snow stood by, several screens before him frantically displaying real-time data streams from the Emerald Galaxy and the Grand Clock's predictions of the ritual's progress. His usual respect and composure were gone, replaced by intense concentration and an undisguised awe of the unknown.

"Energy field stability is 98.7 percent, spatial anchor point calibration is complete, causal ripples are being introduced normally..." Snow reported in a low voice, "The activity of void particles continues to rise, exceeding the safety threshold of 300 percent, and is continuing... My God, the pressure at the core of the ritual is approaching the theoretical limit, and some energy channels are showing signs of overload."

One of Karl's phantom nodes flickered slightly, and a calm command was transmitted directly to Snow's consciousness: "Activate the backup energy circuit, diverting 15% of the load. Activate the third to seventh stabilizing rune groups to counteract the space tremor. Continue monitoring changes in the void energy level gradient and record all abnormal fluctuation patterns."

"Yes!" Snow immediately carried out the order. The entire Death Song Academy, as well as several hidden energy stations scattered throughout the Styx Galaxy, operated at full power, continuously transmitting the vast dark energy and specially transformed void energy through the quantum channels constructed by the Great Clock to the ritual array in the Emerald Galaxy.

At the core of the Emerald Galaxy, the emerald green star also seemed to be affected. The stable photosphere on its surface began to show subtle, irregular pulsations, as if a heart was being slowly pressurized by an invisible hand.

The void, the bottom of a lightless abyss. This is the end of concepts, the opposite of existence, where even the word "darkness" seems too pale and concrete. All perception fails here, all rules are distorted and annihilated. Only the most primordial, most chaotic "nothingness" itself, like a viscous substance, eternally surges.

Just as Karl ignited the unprecedented void ritual in the Emerald Galaxy, the vast, directional void energy pierced through the dimensional barriers like a lighthouse, precisely "knocking" on the "door" of this world.

At the bottom of the abyss, the most condensed and ancient "pitch black" moved.

It was not a physical movement, but a shift in "state of being," a deflection from near-eternal "silence" to "activity." The first things to appear were two points of scarlet light. They were not eyes, but a "focus of being" that transcended the concept of vision and was directly mapped onto the level of perception, filled with the purest desire to devour, a chaotic essence, and an endless hatred and thirst for the "world of the living."

"here we go……"

A "thought" that defies description in any known language, resonating directly at the soul level, arose. It was not a sound, but rather a mental storm sweeping across the entire abyss. This thought was mixed with a soul-freezing, insane joy and a cruel anticipation.

"Hehehe..."

That thought transformed into a bizarre, malicious "laughter," echoing through the endless void and causing the entire abyss to "boil" even more violently. Countless twisted beings of various forms, lurking in the layers of the abyss, whether powerful void lords or tiny chaos worms, felt a tremor and ecstasy stemming from their very life (if they could still be called life). The King, or rather, the "Dominator," cast a "gaze."

The laughter subsided, but the two crimson lights did not go out. Instead, they shone even brighter and stared more intently in a certain direction—a direction that corresponded to the known universe, to the Emerald Galaxy, and to the "crack" that Karl was struggling to pry open.

The abyss returned to "silence," but it was a silence brimming with viscous malice, a silence poised to erupt. The oldest and most terrifying being had anchored a wisp of its will at the other end of the soon-to-be-opened passage. It waited, waiting for the moment the door would be fully swung open, to unleash its endless hunger and chaos upon that universe that flowed with the scent of "vitality" and "order."
