Chapter 126 Roasted Whole Lamb
In a distant galaxy, the newly crowned Angel King Yan, empowered by the sacred treasury of knowledge, is engaged in a fierce battle with Ruoning and her fallen celestial legions, who have come to challenge her. Brilliant silver wings clash with dark, silver weapons in interstellar space. Ruoning, ultimately no match for the new king's sharpness, suffers injuries and retreats in a huff, filled with resentment and bitterness, disappearing into the Insect Bridge Station.
On Earth, inside a palace, the atmosphere was eerie. A demon warrior, who had just completed a massacre somewhere on Earth, knelt before the throne, seeking praise from Morgana.
"Queen, I want more... stronger power now!" The demon warrior's eyes gleamed with a thirst for power.
Morgana leaned back lazily on her throne, a playful smile curving her crimson lips: "Oh? What do you want then?"
"I need more achievements! We have successfully invaded the borders of China, but I know that China has the Super Soldier Corps, and there are so many tough nuts to crack! I need a... divine body! True power!" The demon warrior's voice trembled with excitement.
Morgana looked down at him as if he were a chess piece, her tone both seductive and cold: "Fine. As long as you can take down a second-generation angel, or any super soldier from the Super Soldier Squad, I'll give you the divine body you've always dreamed of."
With demonic wings, in the cold, icy palace, Rose's face burned with suppressed rage: "Your men have invaded China again!"
Liang Bing shrugged, a helpless expression on her face: "You know how it is, sometimes I can't control these kids either."
"With just one word from you, who would dare to go?!" Rose stared intently at her.
"You said you would give up Earth for me." Rose's voice trembled slightly.
"I've given up," Liang Bing replied matter-of-factly.
"But those mercenaries and demon cultists you've bewitched are still committing slaughter!"
"Rose," Liang Bing's voice lowered, carrying an almost philosophical sophistry, "I have no ability to control human thoughts. Evil is rooted in their hearts; I didn't put it in."
Meanwhile, somewhere on the border of China, in a valley still shrouded in the smoke of war, corpses littered the ground, a scene of utter devastation. Qi Lin was ordered to lead a special team to eliminate the demonic threat lurking there.
Inside the low-lying tent, a group of low-ranking demons were gathered around a rough map, discussing in hoarse voices how to penetrate deeper into the heart of China and carry out even more brutal destruction.
Unbeknownst to them, Death's sniper scope had already locked onto him. Outside the tent, ground assault troops, equipped with special Leo Knight armor and moving with lightning speed, were already in position.
"action!"
As Qi Lin's calm commands were transmitted through the encrypted channel, the battle began and ended in an instant. Precise sniping and the Leo Knights' swift assault worked in perfect coordination; the demons inside the tent didn't even have time to mount an effective resistance before being completely annihilated by the intense firepower and sharp hand-to-hand combat.
As the smoke cleared, Qi Lin put away her sniper rifle and looked at the Leo cavalry, clad in streamlined black armor, clearing the battlefield. A resolute glint flashed in her eyes. Whether it was a threat from outer space or a demon lurking in the shadows, anyone who dared to invade this land would face the most resolute counterattack.
Liang Bing leaned lazily against her demon throne, her deep gaze piercing through the porthole, fixed on the azure planet. Involuntarily, the image of that red figure and the seven-colored sword light that cleaved through stars and issued a warning from afar—Lin Yu—appeared in her mind.
Her slender fingers tapped unconsciously on the armrest of the throne, her brows furrowed slightly.
"That unlucky kid Karl... I wonder if your so-called void theories can actually solve this troublesome guy." She muttered to herself, her tone carrying a hint of barely perceptible irritation and apprehension. The power Lin Yu had displayed had exceeded her initial expectations, becoming a major variable.
After a moment of contemplation, a cold and calculating glint flashed in her eyes. An invisible, clandestine communication command was sent directly from Demon One to Ator, who was far away in the Kunsa Nebula.
"Ato".
"Your Majesty, please give your orders," Atto's calm voice responded immediately.
"Send Daberon to China." Liang Bing's voice regained the calm and decisiveness befitting the Demon King. "Let him go...test the waters. I need to know, without our direct intervention, just how deep the waters are in that land."
Shortly after the cold ice on the demon's wings gave the order, in a bustling city in China, space distorted and a deafening roar was heard as the massive, mountain-like body of the Great Beren descended!
It swung its massive arm with unbridled ferocity, destroying skyscrapers and overturning vehicles, causing panic and chaos as citizens fled in terror. It even let out a defiant roar to the sky, its sound waves deafening:
"Super Soldier Company—! Get your ass out here!"
Inside the command center of the Mangdangshan, the scene was clearly captured on a real-time projection. Liu Chuang, arms crossed, brows furrowed, stared at the rampaging destruction of the Great Bolon on the screen, and spat:
"That bastard is clearly here to challenge our Super Soldier Squad! He even named names; isn't he just trying to stand out and gain attention from Morgana?"
Just then, Qi Lin walked in from outside. Hearing the commotion, she asked, "What's going on? Why is it so noisy?"
Liu Chuang turned around and saw her, explaining, "Qilin, a troublemaker has come, demanding a one-on-one fight, and saying he won't let you join in."
Qi Lin walked to the projector and looked at the familiar figure: "Oh? It's him, Big Brother Lun?"
"Hmm," Liu Chuang nodded, cracking his knuckles. "Anyway, it's always the same few guys I challenge. Monkey King isn't here right now, so this kind of head-on confrontation is my job! I'll go and check him out!"
"Do you need my remote support?" Qi Lin calmly suggested, her sniping skills playing a crucial role in this situation.
"No need!" Liu Chuang waved his hand, displaying a fierce courage. "If he wants a one-on-one fight, then let's fight one-on-one! We can't let others look down on us!"
Hearing this, Angel Leng, who had been watching the fight with her arms crossed, couldn't help but raise her hand and slap Liu Chuang on the back of the head, making a crisp sound, and said, "Look at you, so capable! What if it's a trap?"
Just then, the door to the command room was pushed open with a "whoosh," and a slightly tired, yet somewhat aggrieved voice came through:
"Oh my god, I'm exhausted! I absolutely have to eat a lot this time to replenish my energy!"
Soton dragged its tail as it wobbled in, plopped down on the ground, and panted heavily.
All eyes turned to him, and Liu Chuang's eyes lit up: "Brother Soton, you've come back just in time!"
Thorton raised his large head, looked blankly at the crowd gathered around him, and pointed at the huge figure in the projection: "What... what is this thing? It looks really ugly."
Liu Chuang quickly crouched down, put his arm around Soton's shoulder, and pointed at the projection: "Brother, you're back just in time! Go, help your brother deal with this big guy!"
Upon hearing this, Thorton shook his head vigorously, clutching his stomach: "What? You want me to go? No way! I just got back, I'm exhausted, and my stomach is growling. I don't have the energy to fight!"
Qi Lin looked at Suo Dun, who was sitting on the ground acting like a spoiled child, a hint of a smile flashing in her eyes. She stepped forward, her tone calm yet alluring:
"Soton, that big guy outside looks big, but he's not very strong. He'll probably only be a handful for you to take down with one axe."
She paused, watching Thornton's little ears perk up instantly, and then unleashed her trump card:
"Here's what we'll do: if you go and take care of him now, I'll give you a treat when you get back—ten whole roasted lambs, roasted until crispy on the outside and tender on the inside."
"Roast...roast whole lamb?" Thorton almost drooled. He sat on the ground, counting on his fingers, seemingly weighing whether "tiredness" or "roast whole lamb" was more important. The thought process lasted about three seconds.
The next moment, he leaped up from the ground, his previous exhaustion vanished, his eyes burning with an insatiable craving for food. He grabbed his double-bladed battle axe and charged out:
"Alright! You promised! Qilin, you wait! I'll go chop him up right now, it'll be extra for dinner tonight!"
Before he finished speaking, his round figure had already become a blur as he rushed out of the command room and headed straight for the battlefield.
The group in the command room were left looking at each other in bewilderment, and the unwavering belief in roasting the whole lamb lingered in the air.
