Super God Academy: Kabuto
Chapter 120 Disappearance
At the very instant Lin Yu was swallowed by the mist in that mysterious wooden house and completely disappeared from the current universe—
Far away on Skyblade No. 7, Kadoya Tsukasa, who was idly supervising the training of the Super Soldier Corps, suddenly raised his head, his gaze like lightning, and shot towards the direction of the North Star Courtyard! His usual cynicism vanished instantly, replaced by an extreme sharpness and astonishment.
"Gone..." he muttered to himself, his brow furrowed. "The entire universe... can't sense his presence anymore?"
Zhao Xin, who had come closer, asked curiously, "Brother Xiaoming, what's that aura?"
Tsukasa Kadoya instantly suppressed all his outward emotions, reverting to his usual lazy demeanor. He casually patted Xin Zhao on the back of the head: "Nothing! What are you all standing there for? Go train! I want to see the results of your training when I get back!"
After saying that, he didn't give anyone time to react. He quickly opened a gray light screen, stepped into it, and disappeared.
The next moment, Tsukasa Kadoya appeared in the quiet courtyard of North Star. He stood in the courtyard, his gaze scanning every inch of the space.
"The energy residue... it's right here, the coordinates where he disappeared." He pinpointed the exact location where Lin Yu last disappeared.
However, no matter how he sensed, explored, or even used special search techniques, he found nothing. Lin Yu, He Xi, and Keisha were as if they had been completely erased from the universe, leaving no trace of spacetime ripples or energy.
"Interesting..." Instead of being discouraged, Tsukasa Kadoya's lips curled into an intrigued smile. "To be able to erase someone's existence so cleanly is no ordinary feat."
Unconvinced, he raised his hand again, and the Aurora Curtain unfolded in response. He attempted to rewind time, returning directly to the moment before Lin Yu disappeared to see what had happened. But—an invisible yet vast power, as boundless as a starry sea, descended from nowhere, firmly suppressing his spacetime abilities! No matter how he activated it, the Aurora Curtain remained frozen, unable to take him back even a second!
"This is strange..." Tsukasa Kadoya frowned even more deeply; this situation was extremely rare.
He changed his approach, attempting to use the aurora curtain to directly connect to and penetrate the "space" Lin Yu might have entered when he disappeared. He stepped into the light curtain, but upon taking one step, he found himself still standing in the same spot, as if he had just undergone an ineffective teleportation.
"Can't even lock onto the coordinates? Or rather, is that level of 'space' rejecting my connection?" He looked up at the sky, his eyes flickering, as if he had thought of something. He opened the light screen again and left Earth directly.
The questioning of the void and the helpless return
Tsukasa Kadoya once again arrived at that void space he had visited before, isolated from the regular universe.
"I know you're here!" His voice echoed in the void, carrying an undeniable certainty. "Where did he go?"
He was questioning the man in the black trench coat who had thrown him into the abyss to explore.
However, this time, only eternal silence answered him. A long time passed without any sound or figure appearing.
Tsukasa Kadoya's expression was not good. He snorted coldly, activated the Aurora Veil again, and returned to Skyblade 7. He went straight to Kirin, who was adjusting her sniper rifle.
"Brother Xiaoming?" Qi Lin was startled by his sudden appearance. "Did you need something?"
"Summon the Thunderfly," Tsukasa Kadoya said succinctly.
Although Qi Lin didn't understand why, she still summoned DrakeZecter as instructed.
Tsukasa Kadoya stared at the hovering lightning dragon and asked in a deep voice, "Do you know where he went? Can you contact Kabuto?"
The Thunderfly Insect Device flickered a few times, emitting an electronic voice that conveyed confusion and a sense of disconnection:
Undetectable... Connection forcibly severed... Unknown force... Isolating all senses...
Tsukasa Kadoya nodded, his expression serious. "I understand."
Hearing this conversation, Qi Lin immediately tensed up and asked anxiously, "Has something happened to my brother?!"
Kadoya Tsukasa glanced at her, quickly regained his relaxed demeanor, and shook his head: "It's nothing, what could possibly happen to him? He probably just went camping somewhere with bad signal." He made up a reason to reassure Qilin, then opened the light screen again and left.
Back in the small courtyard he rented in Kita no Hoshi, Tsukasa Kadoya stroked his chin, his eyes not showing any worry, but rather a gleam of light as if he had discovered a new toy.
"It blocks time travel, isolates the rider's senses, and even avoids seeing 'that guy'..."
He muttered to himself, the smile on his lips growing wider and wider.
"It seems that this universe... is much more interesting than I imagined."
A gray light curtain unfolded across the desolate ruins of the Divine River, and Tsukasa Kadoya reappeared. He wasted no time, his sharp gaze locking onto the highly unstable, seemingly imminent spatial rift above the center of the ruins. The aura emanating from that rift was filled with chaos and the unknown.
"Could he be hiding in here?" The thought had barely crossed his mind when he keenly sensed a subtle fluctuation. He addressed the empty space loudly, "Since you're here, come out and meet me. Hiding is not the way to treat a guest."
As his words fell, the void ahead indeed distorted, and a slowly rotating nebula-like illusion, seemingly composed of countless shattered stars, emerged. A voice, weary and ancient, echoing across millennia, came from the depths of the nebula:
"Outsider...you shouldn't be here."
Tsukasa Kadoya dismissed the warning, surveying the nebula with a glint of insight in his eyes: "Interesting... You've integrated a part of your consciousness, even your very essence, into this spatial structure to better suppress that rift, haven't you?" He succinctly revealed the secret of this place.
He stopped beating around the bush and went straight to the point: "Where did he go? You should know, right?" The "he" he was referring to was, of course, Lin Yu.
The voice from within the nebula remained silent for a moment before slowly responding, tinged with a deep sense of powerlessness:
"I... don't know either."
"Although by merging with this place I can briefly monitor some major variables in this universe, the vast majority of my power and spirit are devoted to maintaining the stability of this rift, leaving me no time to attend to anything else."
Tsukasa Kadoya clearly didn't believe this explanation. He changed his approach and asked another crucial question: "What kind of 'deal' existed between you and him?"
"It cannot be said." The other party's answer remained concise and resolute, filled with a sense of taboo.
"Really... there's no room for compromise?" Tsukasa Kadoya took a step forward, a dangerous aura emanating from him. He pointed to the unstable spacetime rift, his tone carrying an undisguised threat, "I don't mind going to the 'other side' myself. Perhaps we can find the answer there?"
Faced with this blatant threat, the being within the nebula let out a long, heavy sigh:
"well………"
"It's no use. He's not on the other side of the rift. Even if you recklessly opened it and disrupted the balance, I... still can't tell you where he is."
Tsukasa Kadoya stared intently at the nebula, as if trying to see through its dazzling light to discern the true thoughts hidden behind it. The standoff lasted for a long time before the dangerous aura emanating from him slowly subsided.
"Never mind." He finally seemed to give up, uttering two words decisively. Then, without saying anything more, he turned around, opened the gray light screen again, stepped inside, and disappeared.
Only after confirming that Tsukasa Kadoya's presence had completely left this star field did a heavier, more worried whisper resound from within the nebula, as if conversing with the endless void:
"Sigh... These are turbulent times..."
"Even 'over there'... is starting to get unsettled..."
This graveyard of civilization has once again fallen silent. Only the spacetime rift that has been forcibly suppressed, and the ancient consciousness that has merged with it, are silently telling the story of a profound crisis that the universe is facing, one that is far beyond what ordinary people can imagine.
