Marvel: I am Iron Man
Chapter 75 Run away!
Sif: "?"
What did I just see?
That mortal, wearing armor made from mortal materials, showed no magical fluctuations whatsoever, relying solely on the power of mortal "technology."
They wiped out so many Zeta Swiss soldiers in an instant?
In the eyes of the Asgardians, the Chitauri, while not a first-rate power in the interstellar world, were considered the weakest in Midgard, the Nine Realms? This shouldn't be a situation that mortals could handle.
But this human named Tony Stark completely overturned her preconceived notions about mortals on Earth until now.
Are mortals already able to wield such powerful weapons?
Ms. Sif didn't voice her true feelings aloud, otherwise Tony would surely have found it amusing.
Earth? The weakest in the Nine Realms?
On the surface, this statement seems to make no mistake.
Let alone in the Nine Realms, in the vast Marvel Universe, Earth's level of civilization is set at the "village with internet access" level. This is roughly equivalent to other worlds being modern, industrialized superpowers while Earth remains a remote mountainous region stuck in the era of cold weapons.
However, this remote little planet seems to possess some strange and extraordinary characteristics, attracting the attention of the Kree Empire, a top-tier cosmic power, the Skrull refugees, the Dark Dimension boss Dormammu, Thanos (the head of the family planning commission), and even the legendary cosmic gods...
All sorts of cosmic-level brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, and even ancestral-level bigwigs keep running around this little planet all day long. Some are fighting, some are holding meetings, some are dropping nuclear bombs, some are demolishing buildings, some are developing projects, and some are implementing family planning policies...
Marvel Earth is like a prestigious school district in the universe. Although it may be old and dilapidated, it's still a top-tier school district in the multiverse. No matter which universe or district you come from, anyone who wants to make a name for themselves has to come to our solar system first. Only those who can leave alive can be considered someone special.
This is another strange thing about Earth—it's primitive and backward in its design, but no matter how powerful a figure is, even a god would have to perish here.
So if an alien ever gets the idea that "I can do whatever I want with Earth's current capabilities," then he'll definitely be the next unlucky one.
For example, this group of Chitauri probably thought this way before entering the atmosphere. Then they encountered Iron Man, and Thor... the kind who goes into overdrive.
Thor was incredibly excited, charging through the Chitauri warriors like a man possessed.
He stomped his feet hard, the air beneath his feet seemed to explode, and his fiery red cloak fluttered wildly behind him.
Thor fell from the sky like a thunderous meteor, crashing down on a group of Chitauri warriors with destructive force!
Mjolnir's unstoppable hammer slammed into the ground, and from the point of impact, a silent, ring-shaped shockwave, a blend of divine power and physical force, exploded outwards. The sand instantly collapsed, creating a massive crater, from which endless lightning poured forth, weaving a forest of bolts!
The Zeta Swiss soldiers were instantly swept away by the lightning, shattered into pieces amidst billions of volts of electricity. Their metal armor melted into molten iron, and the violent shockwave tore the warriors to shreds.
Meanwhile, Tony's Iron Man armor flew past at high speed, unleashing a barrage of electric pulses that knocked down several Chitauri cavalrymen before slowing down and hovering in mid-air. At the same time, the reactor in his chest was fully charged to incandescent energy.
Jarvis: "The arc reactor is 100% charged."
Tony: "Launch!"
A buzzing energy hummed, making the very air tremble. A concentrated pulse emanated from the arc reactor, the most powerful energy weapon in Iron Man's armor at full power. A blindingly bright white beam of light erupted from the reactor's center.
Gamma Vibranium New Element Arc Reactor, Maximum Output!
An exaggeratedly intense pulse of energy utterly obliterated every Zeta Swiss soldier it passed. There were no explosions, no flashes of light; the soldiers who were pierced through seemed to vanish instantly, their mechanical structures and bio-armor vaporizing silently like thin ice in the sunlight.
Tony merely rotated his upper body slightly, and the pulsed beam from the reactor resembled a giant scythe of light wielded by a god. The incandescent white beam swept steadily through the enemy ranks, the continuous hissing of energy and crackling of ionization obliterating swathes of the Chitauri.
The four Asgardian warriors were completely stunned, and even their fighting movements unconsciously stopped.
It's not that Iron Man's firepower shocked them so much that they forgot to fight, it's just that there was nobody else to fight!
Thor's lightning, combined with the cluster pulse from Iron Man's reactor, unleashed two powerful attacks in quick succession, decimating the Chitauri fleet and reducing its combat strength by more than half.
The cluster pulse attack from the reactor just now involuntarily reminded the group of the Destroyer, Odin's magical armor, which could also unleash similar beam impacts from its facial armor, instantly destroying everything in its path. The visual effect was somewhat similar to Iron Man's energy pulse just now.
The group couldn't accurately determine the exact intensity of the energy beam by sight alone, but it seemed that any Zeta Swiss soldiers touched by the beam were instantly vaporized.
Could it be that mortals have already mastered powers similar to those of the Destroyer Armor?
Relying entirely on the technology of ordinary people?
The mere thought of such a thing terrified the four warriors.
They now finally understood that Thor's previous praise of this mortal iron warrior was by no means an exaggeration.
The few remaining Chitauri who had miraculously survived were also shocked.
This is completely different from what we agreed on before we left!
Intelligence indicated that the planet they were investigating, named Earth, was likely in a relatively primitive, indigenous civilization stage. With their technology, they shouldn't encounter much resistance there.
But what did they encounter here?
A brute wielding a hammer, striking with thunder and lightning; and this steel monster that looks like it's wearing an interstellar warship...
...Is this what they call indigenous civilization?
The current Chitauri have clearly suffered from the flawed version of the information. Because if it were later in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, almost the entire universe would know that the information that "Earth is a backward indigenous people" is the biggest trap in the version.
Earth is such a mysterious place.
You could say it's backward, and you'd be right. Humanity is a backward civilization that can't even develop outside its own planet, so logically, it would only be able to take a beating from an alien empire.
However, this godforsaken place has a backward level of civilization, but its cutting-edge combat capabilities are by no means lacking.
Thanks to a superpower awakening craze akin to a "revitalization," Earth, while lacking conventional interstellar combat capabilities like other civilizations, boasts a diverse cast of superpowered warriors, led by the Avengers. These individuals, when unleashed, can unleash combat power far exceeding the level of Earth's civilization, even surpassing that of top-tier cosmic civilizations.
So, after years of playing the fool to outwit the powerful and defeating various deities, Marvel's later "Broken Planet" had earned a formidable reputation. Every now and then, news would spread throughout the surrounding regions and galaxies that some powerful being had attempted to attain enlightenment on Earth, only to never return.
Over time, Earth, the "backward civilization," gradually became known throughout the universe. Apart from top-tier powers like the Kree, few second-rate civilizations dared to challenge the Avengers.
However, the world is still relatively unknown at this stage, so the Chitauri became the first unfortunate group to be taken advantage of while pretending to be weak.
At this point, the Chitauri and the air force riding electric scooters that had been deployed were basically wiped out, leaving only the giant insect-like mechanical mothership.
The body, covered in thick bio-armor, gleamed with a cold, hard metallic luster in the sunlight, and countless mechanical parts were slightly open like the scales of a giant beast.
That posture seemed to be gathering momentum, angry at the annihilation of his teammates, and preparing for a final, devastating charge.
However, just as the mechanical behemoth had gathered its strength to the fullest, like a bowstring taut before an arrow is released, at that very moment...
The enormous, suffocating mothership began to spin in place with an agility that was disproportionate to its size and almost clumsy.
It turned around and accelerated, like a giant python that had run aground in shallow water and discovered its natural enemy, desperately trying to turn around and dive back into the deep water, as if it were going all out towards the sky.
If I can't beat them, I'll take my leave.
Run away!
