Marvel: I am Iron Man

Chapter 38 Stark Products Sell Well

The Mark VI armored vehicle landed with a trail of flame, smoothly returning to the armored launch pad at Stark House.

Multiple robotic arms immediately reached out from all directions, removing pieces of armor plating that were worn, faded, and covered in mud from Tony's body.

The armor was disassembled and stored in the cracks in the floor, automatically entering the storage, maintenance, and cleaning process.

Tony stepped out of the armor, plopped down on the sofa, took a sip of the special coffee handed to him by the mechanical arm next to him, and sank into the soft sofa back, allowing himself to enjoy a three-minute nap.

In conclusion, this potential global gamma crisis has been averted.

In terms of results, Tony also gained a lot. He obtained a large amount of gamma research data and a very rare opportunity to potentially contact the leader of AIM. If handled properly, he might be able to solve the AIM problem once and for all.

Gamma research is also an important project in Marvel. In the original comics, Ultron even developed an anti-gamma ray that could force the Hulk back to Banner with a single shot. Tony believes that if his anti-gamma technology can reach the level of Ultron in the comics, then most gamma threats will be nothing to fear in the future.

In the Marvel universe, gamma radiation has caused numerous disasters. Since Tony has decided to prepare for all sorts of potential calamities that might befall him, gamma countermeasures are naturally an essential part of his plan.

Planning ahead is a crucial principle Tony believes is essential for a successful career in Marvel.

Marvel Earth is a horrible place where there's a small explosion every three days and a big one every five days. The Statue of Liberty is dismantled by aliens every now and then and used as building blocks.

New York is demolished on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; it's rebuilt on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. For the unfortunate office workers living in New York, Sundays are a rare moment of peace and a chance to catch their breath, only to find the Avengers fighting aliens when they get home the next day, or the Hulk carrying their ten-year mortgaged car and swinging it at their thirty-year mortgaged house. At that moment, the feeling is utterly hopeless.

The only slightly comforting thing is that, supposedly, in the original comics, Stark would compensate for the damages caused by the Avengers' fights...

...What? I'm Stark?

That's fine.

So this is one of the key reasons why Tony is always uneasy. As mentioned before, if the sky falls, there are tall people to hold it up, but unfortunately, he just happened to be transported into the body of a tall person.

Everyone knows that Marvel would be in trouble at any moment without Iron Man, so Tony feels like he's living on an Earth that's like a giant time bomb, where the whole world could explode at any time and take him to the sky with it.

Only by constantly innovating his own advanced armor and using it to eliminate potential threats one by one can he continuously strengthen his sense of security.

Tony leaned back on the sofa and closed his eyes to rest.

He felt he had been lying there for about two minutes (or maybe longer) when he heard Jarvis's voice in his ear: "Sir, there has been progress on some of the matters you raised. You may be interested."

Tony opened his eyes and suddenly found the lab lights a bit too bright. He instinctively raised his arm to shield his eyes, while Jarvis intelligently dimmed the lights.

"What is it, Jarvis?"

Tony lowered his arm and asked.

Jarvis said, "After we dealt with Obadiah Stane, you instructed us to find out the whereabouts of all the smuggled weapons that leaked from Stark Industries."

A batch of weapons has now been tracked down.

They are illegally trafficked and often sold to terrorist groups. These include the Ten Rings gang that kidnapped Tony Stark, and possibly even inhumane organizations like AIM or Hydra.

It's said that anything made by Stark is of high quality, and weapons bearing the Stark name are highly sought after throughout the Marvel universe, including by terrorists. You can see the Stark logo flying everywhere on battlefields around the world.

Tony doesn't like this.

Most of the tasks in his current to-do list were created by himself, but this was something that his original self, the original Tony Stark, had already started before he transmigrated here.

Find and destroy all Stark technology that has been smuggled and illegally circulated around the world, and prevent his own inventions from being used to slaughter innocent people.

This was also the original mission given to "Iron Man" when he was born.

Tony zoomed out on the projected floating screen in front of him: "Give me more details, Jarvis. Which of our weapons were smuggled? Information on the buyers and sellers. Let me see."

Jarvis immediately typed all the details onto the screen. Tony tapped his finger and slowly scrolled down.

"The buyer is Nemesis Energy... Doesn't this name sound familiar?"

Tony felt the face looked familiar, but couldn't quite place where he'd seen it before, so he asked, "Jarvis, give me a hint."

Jarvis quickly retrieved various relevant information about "Nemesis Energy," including the company's business, news, and overlaps with Tony's own database.

Tony quickly scanned the area and soon remembered where he had seen it before.

This was before Tony established the Hydra mole file. He compiled a list of all the officials, agents, and other personnel he could remember who he was certain were Hydra members, and arranged for the collection of information on each of them.

One of them was a member of parliament named Sent.

This character first appeared in the movie "Iron Man 2," where he aggressively demanded that Tony hand over Iron Man technology to the government, but ultimately failed.

It was later confirmed that this person was actually a high-ranking member of Hydra.

The company called "Nemesis Energy" had appeared multiple times when collecting Sent's files before. This company was Sent's biggest financial backer when he ran for office.

Tony is now more than 80% certain that this so-called "Nemesis Energy," like the Sent they sponsor, is backed by Hydra.

This is a Hydra company.

"So actually, Hydra wanted to steal our weapons," Tony said. "Then our products must be selling really well."

Jarvis said, "I think this at least represents the market's recognition of your technology."

"Yeah. So can we put Hydra's five-star reviews on the company homepage as a promotional tagline? In promotional language, we could say, 'Terrorists use it and they love it,'" Tony joked.

Jarvis: "That's an interesting idea, sir."

"I need more detailed information about this deal, including the location and time," Tony said. "Also, complete the routine maintenance and checks of the Mark 6 as soon as possible to ensure it is ready to be deployed at any time."

"No problem, sir," Jarvis said. "Mark 6 can be ready within an hour."
