Marvel: I am Iron Man
I submitted my application for Chapter 13.
"Beep beep beep~ Beep beep beep~"
Tony lay in the soft, warm bed, still half-asleep, and said, "Turn off the alarm, Jarvis, I'm awake."
The alarm clock stopped immediately.
Tony yawned, forced himself to sit up from the covers, and sat on the edge of the bed with his eyes closed, as if cherishing the last lingering afterglow of a beautiful dream.
Jarvis said, "If I had to say, I think you need more sleep, sir."
"Yes, I think so too. It's a pity we have more important things to do, and I won't be able to sleep well until we finish them."
He yawned again and jumped out of bed, talking as he walked toward the bathroom.
"Get me ready for work, Jarvis. I'll be right there after I wash my face."
Once he regained consciousness, Tony arrived at the laboratory, realizing that this was probably the place he had spent the most time in since he transmigrated.
Today's top task is still to introduce new elements.
The extraction of the new element has been successful. The next step is to apply this new element to the new model of the arc reactor and to design a new model of armor to adapt to the new reactor with higher power.
This refers to the "Mark 6" armor, the first suit of armor in the movie to be equipped with a new energy reactor.
As designed, the Mark VI featured a completely upgraded reactor with a much higher output power than its predecessors. To maximize this power advantage, the Mark VI was designed with greater propulsion, higher speed, and greater energy output.
Tony threw himself into work from the moment he woke up in the morning, even eating his meals in the lab while supervising his "clumsy little hands" to keep working.
They worked until sunset before the new reactor was finally completed. Tony was finally able to say goodbye to the old model that had been torturing his body every day.
As the new reactor was inserted into his chest, Tony instantly felt refreshed. Watching the azure light bloom in the small arc on his chest, he had the illusion that all the filth in his body had been washed away by this holy light, as if his whole body had become light and airy.
Of course, it would be even better if he could completely remove that annoying shrapnel from his chest. But at least this is an important milestone, meaning he won't have to worry about his heart problem for a while.
The next step is to finalize the detailed design of the Mark 6.
Tony was in a good mood after the new reactor was installed, humming a tune and allowing himself a short break during his busy research work. During this time, he reviewed the "high-risk individuals" file he had created—he went through this file at least every three days, making notes on any new characters and events he remembered.
For example, he remembered another important role these past two days.
"Quentin Baker, mark this guy down for me," Tony said.
Jarvis marked the name on the list and had already intelligently retrieved the relevant files before Tony gave any specific instructions.
"Quentin Baker is an engineer in our company's Advanced Technology R&D department, specializing in the intersection of virtual reality and artificial intelligence..."
The person's educational background, work experience, and other specific details were displayed below.
"An engineer from the R&D department," Tony murmured, resting his chin on his hand.
Quentin Baker will play a supervillain codenamed "Mysterio" in the future, primarily a villain for Spider-Man. However, in the movies, he was originally an engineer at Stark Industries... and in fact, a very talented one at that.
He developed a holographic imaging technology called "Dual-structure," which is so realistic that it can be completely mistaken for reality, just like bringing movie special effects into reality.
Later in the cinematic universe, this person was fired by Stark Industries due to his unstable personality. Later, he used his incredibly realistic "dual-structure" technology to package himself as a superhero from the multiverse, staging a real-life Hollywood spectacle in front of the public with a bunch of drones.
Regardless of the person's concept, the ability to create holographic images to this extent is undoubtedly a powerful technology with wide applications and practical value.
Jarvis asked, "Are you interested in Engineer Baker?"
"Yes, a little. Arrange for me to meet this Quentin Baker sometime... no, wait a minute." Tony thought for a moment, "On second thought... don't contact Baker himself, contact his department. Then arrange an inspection, just say... the boss has suddenly become very interested in the field of holographic effects and suddenly wants to visit the project team, that's all."
Jarvis: "No problem, sir."
Tony quickly ate dinner and then continued working on the development of the new armor.
Tony worked until about 1 a.m. that night before finally completing the design of the Mark 6 armor. Visually, it matched the Mark 6 from the movies. While there were some personalized modifications compared to the original film version, the fundamental design concept was the same: to maximize the energy output of the new reactor. Therefore, they were largely the same.
Once the design phase was complete, the remaining tasks were the actual production, assembly, and painting of the armor. However, by this time, Tony's intelligent production line for armor was relatively mature, and Jarvis's supervision was sufficient after the design phase was finished; he didn't need to do it himself.
After a good night's sleep, the Mark 6 will be almost finished.
A day later, the chairman personally inspected the virtual R&D department where Quentin Baker worked.
As expected, the entire department was on high alert. The person in charge, after receiving the notification, quickly mobilized all his employees, doing his best to instill in each of them the importance of this opportunity to their department, with a level of importance probably no less than that of a local official in ancient times receiving the king.
But this is actually just human nature.
It's important to understand that while everyone knows they're nominally working for Tony Stark, the Stark Industries is an unimaginably vast behemoth. Most of them would probably work their entire lives without ever having the chance to meet Tony Stark in person.
The fact that this boss actually showed interest in a particular project team and came to visit in person was undoubtedly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the entire team.
If they truly gain the appreciation of a big shot, it's not impossible for the entire team to be promoted and for everyone to embark on the fast track to success.
So, as soon as Tony got out of the car, the manager's fawning smile almost smeared his face.
Meanwhile, Tony's focus, the "Mysterio" from the original timeline, was the chief engineer who stayed by his supervisor's side the entire time, using every trick in the book to make the most of those precious few minutes and desperately trying to sell the boss the bright prospects of their project.
What they didn't know was that the boss didn't need their sales pitch at all; he had already made up his mind before even coming here.
"That's very interesting."
After listening to their eloquent explanation, Tony smiled slightly with his hands behind his back and began to speak.
I invested in this project.
