Demigod Mage in America
Chapter 29 I said she wouldn't die
Raine sipped beer after beer. With his current physique, he wouldn't get drunk even if he stayed in a brewery, let alone this much beer.
"Eagle Eye can see through the human body, so many wealthy people hope to obtain matching organs from him."
Why?
Renn didn't quite understand why these people needed organs. Aren't organs only replaced when someone is sick?
"You don't know?" David looked at Ryan's doubtful expression and couldn't help but marvel at it.
He thought the other person was the young master of some magical family, but it turned out that he was not as good as him, a half-baked expert.
"Of course it's to extend lifespan. How can you compare the organs of a 20-year-old to those of a 70-year-old? With organ replacement, their lives can be extended by at least 15% to 20%."
What kind of black technology is this? Raine had never heard of this kind of technology before he transmigrated.
If transplanting organs from young people into the bodies of the elderly can extend lifespan, then there must be some kind of unseen, cutting-edge technology in this world.
Or...
Renn narrowed his eyes, a guess forming in his mind.
The extraordinary beings in this world may be colluding with official organizations; otherwise, they couldn't have accomplished something like this.
"What about the homeless people who take in women?"
David took a breath, a movement that aggravated his injury, causing him to cough a few times. He then said indignantly, "To accompany some important people."
Ryan narrowed his eyes, suddenly feeling a sense of disgust towards this complete stranger, Murphy.
He must strike hard!
The other person's actions really made him think, "Is this even human?" and wanted him to disappear from this world.
"Take him with you."
Renn gave an order and got up to walk towards the basement.
The chains David had been chaining to the door fell to the ground before Ryan could even get close, and the heavy iron door, straining under the weight, slowly opened to the sides.
"Are you usually alone here?"
"Yes, we don't need too many people here. Unless it's during business hours, the waiters won't come here."
"Are they all ordinary people?"
"right……"
David has given up on himself; saying one thing is the same as saying everything.
The entrance to the basement is a passageway that can only accommodate two people at a time, with red bricks instead of wood on the sides of the stone steps.
Several kinds of paint were splattered on the wall, but Ryan could smell the stench coming from behind.
Having dealt with corpses for many years, he knew very well what that smelled like.
"A lot of people must have died in this place before, right?"
"No...nothing like that."
David's expression tightened, and he stammered.
Ryan smiled but didn't say anything, and continued walking down the steps.
The lights in the passageway below are incandescent, bright and glaring.
After rounding the corner, Renn saw a room with a transparent film encasing the walls, as if isolating something.
An operating table was placed in the center of the room. The room was dark except for the shadowless lamp next to the operating table.
The equipment was also very old, making it look like some kind of shady clinic.
A girl lay naked on it, her body bearing obvious signs of abuse, with blood flowing all over the ground.
Raine noticed that her face was very young, but there was an inhuman sense of horror about it, much like those of drug addicts.
"Let me go! She's dying! Quick!"
Ryan turned to look at the struggling David and gestured for Number One to release him.
The man, freed from his restraints, gestured for Number One to return the scalpel to him, then approached the girl, picked up the surgical tools, and began first aid.
However, he quickly stopped, a look of grief on his face. He turned and slid down against the operating table, covering his face with his blood-stained hands, and sobs escaped from between his fingers.
Even when Renn walked past him, he didn't react at all.
"Why are you crying? She's not dead."
David sniffed. "He's not dead yet, but he'll be dead soon."
He's been in this industry for almost ten years now, and at this point, is there anyone who knows it better than him?
The electrocardiogram almost stopped. They said he wasn't dead, but he was just barely clinging to life. Once he breathed his last, he would be gone.
This girl is beyond saving; she will either be sent to a slaughterhouse or disposed of in a sewer.
"I said she's not dead, and she's not dead," Ryan said calmly and confidently.
David looked up at him, wanting to say something.
Who are you? You think she's not dead just because you say so? I was saying she could jump too.
However, due to the other party's strength, he ultimately dared not say those words.
Immediately afterwards, he saw Ryan, who had been motionless, raise his hand.
A touch of dark green gathered at his fingertips.
Life-sustaining techniques
The spell landed on the girl, and her originally pale and lifeless face visibly regained its color, while the electrocardiogram beside her started beating again.
Although the frequency is low, it is stable.
"Don't just stand there, get up and help me."
David was taken aback at first, then looked at the cardiac monitor, his pupils contracted, and disbelief appeared on his face.
"How did you do that?"
"Stop talking nonsense and get to work."
Ryan skillfully put on sterile gloves and a mask, creating a sterile environment.
Then, [Hypnosis] and [Bouncy Magic Ball].
The girl's furrowed brows relaxed, and a milky white, transparent sphere enveloped the area, creating a completely sterile environment.
Every necromancer is a master of human anatomy; modifying the body is as natural to Raine as breathing.
Looking at the girl on the bed, he raised his hand and took the tools.
In David's view, every movement of Ryan's was textbook perfect.
"Open her legs, I need to remove what's left inside."
David didn't know why, but his body moved instinctively, and he did as he was told.
Seeing the exposed parts already showing signs of decay, he felt a pang of pity.
Today, while she was entertaining a customer, for some unknown reason, the customer suffered severe bleeding, and she was beaten up as a result.
David's job is to save as many people as possible, and if he can't save them, he has to get rid of them. He has been doing this job for many years.
He thought he should have become numb by now, but he didn't; he still hoped to save a life.
After cutting the last thread, Ryan placed the scissors in the tray.
Fortunately, although he hasn't done it for many years, it seems he's still as sharp as ever.
"How much do you remember?" Ryan asked, turning around.
David paused, then touched his nose: "No... I don't remember."
However, his expression changed drastically when his gaze fell on the instrument.
The girl's vital signs, which had been weak just moments before, have now stabilized.
The electrocardiogram is no longer slow, but slightly slower than normal.
Ryan really saved the person's life!
This is completely unscientific!
Aren't most mysteries based on objects? Raine didn't wear any ritual props at all, yet he still displayed an extraordinary side.
Ryan took off his gloves and said with a smile, "Want to learn? I can teach you."
David's eyes widened: "You're not going to kill me?"
The other party didn't kill him? Instead, they wanted to teach him?
"Do you know what saved you?"
David looked puzzled and shook his head.
"Because you are still useful."
Seeing that he was still confused, Ryan offered a very tempting suggestion.
"Do you want to be your own boss? This bar, and everything about you as the boss, is here."
