When Chen Bainian returned home, he added food and changed the water for his "elder brother." Watching the little guy's round back as he buried himself in his food, the weariness of the day seemed to be washed away a little.

He opened the refrigerator to find some ingredients to make dinner, but his gaze suddenly stopped as he looked around.

The vacuum-packed spicy rabbit legs that Jiang Yiting had given her earlier were lying there quietly.

The scene of Jiang Yiting mocking him for not daring to eat spicy food inexplicably flashed before his eyes.

Just then, my phone suddenly vibrated.

The screen lit up; it was a message from Jiang Yiting:

"Producer Chen, how's the office location search going today?"

Along with this message came a meme of an older brother peeking out from behind a screen.

I don't know when she took the photo.

Chen Bainian promptly added it to his meme collection and simply posted two words: "Stolen."

Then, reflecting on what had happened today, he replied seriously, "I searched high and low without finding it, but then a new village appeared amidst the willows and flowers; it was a bit of an unexpected gain."

Finally, he asked again, "And you? Are you off work?"

Jiang Yiting's chat window displayed "Typing..." twice before finally sending the following message:

"Not yet, soon. Oh, and don't forget tonight's live stream."

She ultimately swallowed her words, planning to ask him in person after the broadcast ended tonight.

Chen Bainian glanced at the time; it was almost five o'clock.

"I remember. What time will you get home? Will you be able to start the broadcast on time?"

"I should be back around six o'clock, that's plenty of time." She replied quickly this time.

This time was already very close to her self-set broadcast time of 6:30.

Chen Bainian couldn't help but ask curiously, "What about dinner?"

"I still have some wontons my dad made at home, that'll do. Or maybe I'll see something I want to eat on the way back and just buy some."

Chen Bainian looked at the message, then glanced at the rabbit legs in the refrigerator, and the ribbonfish that had been thawing since he returned at noon. Without much thought, he replied with a message:

"Then you're lucky. I prepared extra ingredients for myself for lunch tomorrow."

He thought to himself that this would repay the favor of sending her the rabbit legs, and also serve as some compensation for the "torture" he had inflicted on her during the past two days of live streaming.

Then, he casually added a handful of rice to the rice cooker that was being rinsed.

Jiang Yiting quickly replied, "Thank you very much."

The conversation ended there, and Chen Bainian began preparing dinner.

When serving the meal, he carefully portioned out the dinner dishes, neatly arranging one portion into a microwaveable lunchbox.

He bought it while he was at work.

Just after six o'clock, I heard the sound of a key turning and a door opening next door.

Chen Bainian seized the opportunity, picked up the prepared lunchbox, and went out.

"Here, if it gets cold, just heat it up in the microwave." He handed over the lunchbox.

Jiang Yiting took it, and when her fingertips touched the inside of the lunchbox, she felt a trace of residual warmth.

She looked down and saw that the lunchbox on the left contained white rice and neatly arranged small green vegetables, the edges of which were slightly yellowed from being left out for a while.

The lunchbox on the right is divided into sections. One side has a braised ribbonfish, about three fingers wide and one finger long, while the other side has a light stir-fried white jade mushroom with pork.

An inexplicable warmth quietly crept into her heart, but her mouth spoke faster than her brain: "Producer Chen, your meals are too health-conscious, so bland and light."

She shook the lunchbox, deliberately teasing, "And don't expect to win me over with these little favors. Tonight's 'judgment' won't let you off easily."

"Hurry up and eat," Chen Bainian said with a helpless smile, urging softly.

"Don't stand at the door, come in." Jiang Yiting stepped aside to make way.

This was Chen Bainian's first time formally stepping into Room 1202.

They went in together with their "elder brother," who followed at their feet.

He glanced at it quickly.

Although the apartment layout is different from his 1201, the basic decoration style is similar, clearly indicating that they are uniformly designed rental apartments.

The room was tidy and neat, without much personal decoration. Only a few coats that he had seen her wear in the past few days were hanging on the coat rack by the door, adding a touch of life to this temporary space.

Jiang Yiting turned around and went into the kitchen to wash her hands, taking the lunchbox with her.

When they came out a little while later, each of their lunchboxes had an extra spoonful of bright red chili oil sauce.

She didn't stand on ceremony and sat down opposite Chen Bainian, eating with chili sauce.

Chen Bainian watched as she skillfully mixed the chili sauce with the light dishes, hesitating to speak.

In the end, I couldn't resist and, with a touch of coastal people's insistence on the original flavor of seafood, reminded you: "That ribbonfish... it's actually quite good to taste it plain, without the chili sauce."

Jiang Yiting hesitated for a moment, then picked up a piece of fish as instructed, dipped it in the brown broth at the bottom of the plate, and put it in her mouth.

The fish meat is tender, but not falling apart.

It has a salty and savory flavor with a hint of ginger and wine, a delicate taste of the ocean that is quite different from the strong flavors she is used to.

"Not bad." She nodded in approval, but her chopsticks betrayed her by picking up another piece of stir-fried pork with chili and eating it. "But I still prefer it this way."

Under the warm yellow light, the two sat facing each other.

She ate the chili sauce her father made, along with his home-cooked dishes, and found a strange harmony in it.

The room was filled with a calm and warm sense of comfort.

With the time approaching 6:30, Chen Bainian asked, "Is there anything else to prepare for the live stream tonight? I can help."

"The content is all here." Jiang Yiting tapped her temple, swallowed her food, and said, "If you really have nothing to do, could you move that chair from the living room into the live stream room for me, and also turn on the computer for me?"

"Which room?" Chen Bainian looked at the two rooms with their doors closed.

Jiang Yiting pointed to the room closer to the main entrance and also closer to his bedroom 1201: "That one."

Chen Bainian picked up a chair and walked toward the room she pointed to. Jiang Yiting quickly finished the rest of her food and followed him.

"Big Brother" also wagged his tail and squeezed into the room, as if to witness tonight's special live broadcast.

In the live broadcast room, the warm yellow light illuminated the room brightly but not glaringly.

The background is the scene Chen Bainian has become accustomed to seeing these days: a light-colored wooden bookshelf that covers most of the wall.

The books, including classical novels, game designs, and even psychology books, are scattered on the shelf. The different colors of the spines of the books actually give off a casual and relaxed vibe.

Jiang Yiting sat in front of the computer, making simple adjustments to the equipment in the live streaming room.

She glanced at the camera preview and pointed to the chair that had been temporarily moved next to her: "You'll sit here, but don't appear in the frame at the beginning. Wait for my signal before you enter the shot. You can sit a little further back to create some suspense."

"Okay, I'll do as you say." Chen Bainian readily agreed and moved his chair back half a meter.

He believed in her expertise.

At exactly 6:30, the notification tone for the start of the live stream sounded softly.

Jiang Yiting quickly put on a smile, leaned forward slightly, and approached the microphone: "I love games, I enjoy life, and I'm very happy to spend tonight with everyone. I'm Twelfth Floor."

However, before she could even finish her sentence, a torrent of comments flooded the screen:

-? Where's the promised mystery guest?

-Is Chen Gou going to desert his post at the last minute?!

There's clearly an empty chair on the right side of the camera! Where is the person?

-Lou Ge, did you scare the producer away?

-I've got my big plane all ready, ready to let Chen Gou have a taste!
