Frilian: This Demon Isn't So Cold

Chapter 61 An Approaching Birthday, Danger Lurks Within

"Did you understand what I just said?"

In the north, in a place where demons roamed, in a cave that could be seen everywhere, Graosam looked at several demons in front of him. They were all loyal to the Demon King and had similar experiences, which was why he was able to gather them together to do things together.

"I understand, but are you sure he won't escape this time?" a demon asked.

They had tried to hunt down Carlos before, but without exception, he had always managed to escape.

If a powerful demon abandons its dignity and only cares about running away, then unless one has magic specifically designed for pursuit, it will be very difficult to catch it.

Moreover, only when they are together can they overwhelm the other side in terms of strength, making it even more difficult to pursue and kill them.

"Don't worry. Although doing so would mean abandoning the dignity of a mage, I've already planned to ambush him from the shadows. As long as you coordinate well afterward, he won't have any chance to escape," Graosam said in a deep voice.

He wanted to clear away the obstacles in front of him for the sake of the demon race.

"Isn't Livale coming?" a demon in armor asked. "If he were here, we wouldn't need the two of us [Generals], would we?"

Even among the individualistic demon race, Livale is still a madman because his desire for battle surpasses that of most demons, even surpassing death. He is a thoroughly pure individual.

"I couldn't find him." Graosam was well aware of the reputation of the Bloodstained War God, Livale, but unfortunately, this guy acted as he pleased, and there was no way to find him in a fixed place to come and help.

"What does it matter? We have three great demons and two generals here. Taking down a mere great demon is a piece of cake!" another demon said disdainfully.

"Our teamwork isn't as good as humans', so whether we can each give our all is still a question." The demon who initially raised the question to Glaosam didn't think this was any advantage; he remained quite calm.

"I've already considered this issue, which is why I only contacted you."

Glaosam explained his plan to the four demons:

"At that time, I will be responsible for concealing your magical fluctuations and will send a signal at the appropriate time. Then, the two of you will work with me, while the other two will immediately go and entangle him. If we are lucky, the matter may be resolved without you two generals even having to lift a finger."

"Ha, you've really thrown away all your dignity."

"What does my dignity matter for the sake of the demon race?" Glaosam waved his hand. "Let's go. You just need to focus on the battle. I'll take care of everything else."

Outside the cave, spring is in full bloom, and a small blade of grass is showing off its beauty under the bright sun.

The next second, a foot pressed down from above, flattening it. The grass, which had just straightened up, was pressed down again. It stubbornly tried to raise its head, but was flattened again by a new foot.

After a long time, once Graosam and his demon horde had left, the little grass straightened up a bit again. Although it looked withered compared to before, as long as it could grow again, it would become even more resilient than before.

……

"Ah, finally finished teaching, I'm so tired."

As soon as she got back to the hotel, Sylvia threw herself onto the soft bed and rolled around on it.

"Are you tired?" Frilian asked curiously.

"Of course I'm tired! It's all your fault. Why can't you be of any use at all?" Sylvia complained. "If you could be like me, I could spend more time with Carlos now."

"What can I do? I just can't teach," Frillie said, looking aggrieved.

"Is that why you're here listening to my lecture?" Sylvia's beautiful face tightened.

"Because it's really interesting." Frilian stuck out her tongue. "Listening to people below who knew things but didn't understand why, I find that feeling very interesting."

"I can't stand you." Sylvia continued to roll around on the bed.

It has been a month since Vlame and Alden reached an agreement. They have started to help train qualified mages locally. Although it is only a very basic thing, without a master to explain it, even the simplest things will be difficult. So they have been forced to become a high-quality labor force.

Although she received a salary and successfully paid off the debt she owed Carlos when buying desserts, Sylvia wasn't really interested in it, as time had slipped away unnoticed!

"Frilian, when will you be able to help?" She buried her head in the pillow.

"I should be able to come in handy once your first batch of students have completed their studies."

"By then, will it still matter whether you'll be of any use?" Sylvia slapped the sheets with her calves. "I've decided, as punishment, you're not allowed to have your head touched by your master today."

"Sylvia, you are so cruel..."

"Hmph, scared now?" Sylvia said smugly. "Who told you to be so useless?"

"It's not like I wanted something useless." Frillie turned over in bed. "Speaking of which, what's it like to be in love?"

"You're still young, you don't need to think about these things."

"I'm clearly much bigger than you."

"Does that mean she's already a smelly old woman?"

“That’s not the case!”

"Just kidding." Sylvia got out of bed. "Love..."

She used her magic to detect the room next door.

Not long after, there was a knocking sound on their door.

"Come in."

Carlos opened the door, and in the next instant, Sylvia flew into his arms with such force that Carlos couldn't help but hold her and spin her around in place before slowly putting her down.

"Why are you so excited?" He smiled and brushed his index finger across the girl's delicate nose.

"My birthday is in two months!"

"Isn't there still two months left?"

"I just wanted to express my excitement."

She pulled him to sit on the edge of the bed, then lay down on her lap.

"What's going on?" Carlos didn't refuse, but he was a little confused.

Sylvia seems a little too excited today.

"Trying to convey the feeling of love to a certain elf." She snuggled slightly into his arms. "Am I pretty?"

"nice."

How good-looking is it?

"Spring flowers, summer cicadas, autumn maple leaves, winter snowscapes—" Carlos searched for words in his meager vocabulary, "none of these are as beautiful as you."

"That's an exaggeration!" Sylvia covered her mouth and laughed. "I mean, how are you supposed to interpret cicada chirping? And don't maple leaves fall from the trees?"

"Anyway, let me take a few more looks." Carlos couldn't explain, because this was just an adjective he came up with on the spot.

"Liar. If I hadn't called you over, you wouldn't have come at all. And you even said you wanted to see me a few more times." Sylvia turned her face away.

Here, Frillie's figure was completely blocked by Carlos, so she couldn't see him, but the expression on his face must have been quite interesting.

Sylvia smiled secretly where no one could see her.

"Isn't this because I didn't want to disturb your rest?" Carlos became slightly interested and subconsciously reached out to gently stroke her cheek.

Sylvia blushed slightly and buried her head in his chest.

"Goddess magic, so difficult."

"No need to rush, just take your time."

"I want to go out and play."

"Then let's go out and have some fun."

"Can't you just say no to me?" Sylvia said angrily. "I really want to abandon the task my master gave me and go out to play."

"I know."

"Then why did you agree?!"

"Is it okay to be a little impulsive once in a while?" Carlos turned to look at Frilian. "As for the mission, we can just have someone else take over."

As Frilian watched their interaction, she suddenly met Carlos's gaze and immediately had a very bad feeling.

She curled up, as if in fear, and said:

"W-What do you want to do?"

"It's nothing, just a small help, please don't be afraid."

Carlos smiled.
