Frilian: This Demon Isn't So Cold
Chapter 60 Spring Arrives
While Carlos and his group accompanied Alden in clearing out monsters outside the city, inside the city—
"Oh? It's pretty good."
Celia sat leisurely on the bed, gazing out the window. Her magical perception was accurately transmitting various relevant information to her, and she was also taking into account all the magic used by Carlos.
Carlos used almost every spell he had taught him.
He undoubtedly possesses considerable combat skills.
However, Celia didn't really want to get involved in human history.
However, his own disciples are likely to stir up some trouble now.
"Hmm...should I help them or not?" she wondered to herself.
If she were to help, she would inevitably be re-evaluated by humanity, which was a mixed blessing for her.
The good thing is that humans are incredibly creative, and all sorts of novel magic will be created, allowing us to acquire more magic for combat.
As for the downsides... everything else besides magic will inevitably fall on her shoulders, and she hates everything else besides magic.
—Of course, this is Celia's own opinion.
Amidst this distress, the disciples returned.
"What would you like to eat for lunch today, Master?" Vlame asked as she opened the door.
She shared a room with Celia, while Sylvia and Frilian shared another room. Carlos, on the other hand, was given full privacy and had his own room.
"I'm not really in the mood today, some bread will do." Celia replied casually, her voice low and her mood slightly downcast.
"The city lord just said he's going to treat us well, so we're going there for a big meal at noon!" Sylvia said excitedly, chattering behind Vlame.
"We can have a feast without doing anything! Yay!" Frillie chimed in.
Celia was starting to feel annoyed.
"If there's anything particularly good to eat," she paused, "bring some over for me."
"Yes, Master," Vlame said with a smile.
If she hadn't met Celia, her magical talent, no matter how strong, would never have had the chance to be put to use.
Vlame was always grateful to Seria, even though Seria was a rather awkward elf, she was willing to cooperate with her as much as possible.
"There's one more thing," Vlamé said, suppressing his excitement. "The city lord has promised me that he will use his connections to help me spread the book on the fundamentals of magic."
"Is that the book you wrote yourself, the one with a few attack spells appended at the end?" Celia turned her head, shifting her gaze from the window to the room.
Before her stood Vlamé, suppressing her excitement, while behind her, Frilian and Sylvia smiled broadly.
"Yes." Vlame nodded.
"Where's Carlos?" Celia asked, not having seen her disciple.
"He said he needed to go back to his room to do something." Upon hearing this, Sylvia explained for Vlame, "That's just how he is; he sometimes does things that can't be seen in the light of day in his room."
So Celia silently used her magic to sense her surroundings.
In a room not far away, Carlos was writing something on a book with a pen. Seemingly sensing something, he looked up and met the gaze of Celia, who was spying on him. Then, he smiled at her.
"This guy..." Celia shook her head and withdrew her probe. "You don't need to report everything to me anymore."
"I regret to decline."
"Hmm?" Celia looked at Volame with a questioning gaze.
"Because I want my master to smile more. After all, hasn't my master always been lonely?"
"Is this what you truly believe?"
Celia found Vlame's words laughable. Loneliness? If she were afraid of something like that, she wouldn't be alive now.
"Perhaps this is just wishful thinking on my part, but I think deep down, Master probably also wants to connect with others, right?"
"You're just a human who won't even live a hundred years, what gives you the right to say such things to me?" Celia got off the bed and walked step by step to Volame.
Despite his short stature, his eyesight was remarkably sharp, and the immense magical power he possessed, even under restrictions, made it nearly impossible for fellow mage Vlamé to breathe.
However, Vlamé still smiled.
"Because, even if I'm gone, I think Master will still remember me, right?"
She looked at the magical energy emanating from Seria, noting extremely subtle misalignments and fluctuations, indicating that the mage had not yet reached a level of mastery in controlling magical energy.
Not only the master, but others also have this problem to varying degrees at this stage.
"So, shouldn't we cherish these days when I can still be by my master's side even more?"
Celia opened her mouth, but the words she had prepared couldn't be uttered smoothly.
After a long silence, she finally spoke:
"Call Carlos, let's go."
"Is Grandmaster also planning to go outside?" Sylvia had originally thought that Celia wouldn't come.
"I sometimes go out for a stroll to change my mood." Celia glanced at Sylvia, who had just spoken. This grand-disciple, now blessed by the goddess, might be a genius in another aspect.
Unfortunately, it's not good at offensive magic.
Now that everyone is ready to go out and have some fun, there's one more person who needs to be called along.
Sylvia walked to Carlos's room and knocked on the door:
"It's time to go."
"Understood," came the reply from inside the room.
After a while, Carlos came out and was not at all surprised that Celia was also there.
"You really want to eat a big meal here?" he said with a smile.
"Do you really have to say things like that?" Celia gave Carlos a cold look. "Let's go."
As she passed by Carlos, Sylvia could see a necklace behind Celia's neck, and she also knew that a group photo of them was hidden in the pendant in front of it.
"Grandmaster is quite cute," Sylvia whispered to Carlos.
"Keep your voice down, don't let her hear you," Carlos replied in a low voice as well.
"And what about me?" Frillie leaned closer, flashing a smile at the two of them. "Am I cute?"
"..."
Carlos gave a slight smirk, not offering his own thoughts, but instead asking Sylvia, "What do you think?"
"It's a bit disgusting."
"I think so too." He nodded in complete agreement.
"That's too much!" Frillie snapped back to her forced smile.
"Now you've suddenly become cute."
"Yeah yeah."
"I see." Frillie seemed to understand something. "I'll be cute as long as I keep being willful."
As she spoke, she seemed to be in a good mood and began humming an unknown song, then jogged up behind Celia and Vlame.
The two followed Frillie.
Sylvia decided to let her experience what favoritism was like. "Isn't Ms. Frillie a little too confident? Carlos, you tell me, between her and me, who's cuter?"
"Of course it's you." Carlos wasn't so bad that he couldn't answer such a basic question.
"Tell the truth?"
"Even more so, it's you." Carlos wouldn't fall into such a simplistic trap.
"Hmph." Sylvia puffed out her broad chest, proudly looking down at Frillien. "See? I'm the cutest one."
"Try saying that again when we get back!" Frillian glared resentfully at Sylvia's impressive assets, then looked down at herself.
hateful!
"Go back?" Sylvia asked, puzzled.
"I also have people who like me and praise me," Frilian said.
Ahead, Vlame, who was walking with Celia, deliberately slowed down. When the three of them got closer, she reached out and touched Frilian's head, smoothing the strands of hair on her head.
"In my eyes, you are both equally adorable."
"And what about me?" Carlos interjected.
"You want to become cute too?" Vlamé was taken aback, but still smiled.
Sylvia looked at Carlos and said, "It's already quite cute that you can say something like that."
She wanted to touch his head, but she wasn't tall enough, and even when she stood on tiptoe, she couldn't maintain her balance while walking.
As if sensing her intention, Carlos reached out and picked up Sylvia.
"hey-hey."
Having reached the top as she wished, she placed her wicked little hand on Carlos's head and ruffled his hair into a mess.
Carlos didn't care at all, while Celia in front of him slowed down and looked back at her disciples who could cause trouble at any time.
A gentle breeze caressed my cheeks, and along the roadside, the occasional large tree sprouted new buds.
Spring has arrived.
