Frilian: This Demon Isn't So Cold

Chapter 12 Limitations and Compression of Magic

Vlamé was stunned, the soldiers below were stunned, the mages on the city wall were stunned, and even Carlos, who had done it, was stunned.

"Why is this barrier so fragile? I was just testing whether it could be broken." After a brief and eerie silence, Carlos turned to Vlame and criticized, "There's still a lot of room for improvement. Let's set up a better one here later."

After saying that, without waiting for Vlamé's response, he strode openly into [Tiyua], his left hand still firmly holding the briefcase-like magical tool.

"Wait for me!"

Vlame snapped out of his daze and rushed to Carlos's side. The soldiers near the city gate did not stop Carlos because of what had just happened.

Based on the strength the enemy displayed when eliminating the remnants of the demon race, and the fact that the barrier magic had become extremely dim, they believed that the truth was just as Carlos had said.

The lord hesitated for a moment, but still did not go up to greet them. The two had been separated for a long time, and it was clearly not a situation where he, as an outsider, could have a say.

I'll go and thank you in person later.

"Aren't you afraid of being found out?"

Once the people around him were a little further away, Vlame asked in a low voice.

She never expected that the method Carlos didn't mention would be to directly break the barrier she had set up.

Regardless of whether this method has any problems, the very fact that such an idea comes to mind is enough to explain a lot.

Carlos's skill in magic is probably even greater than hers.

"Isn't it because you're here?" Carlos didn't seem to have any particular thoughts. "Besides, your barrier was really fragile. I hadn't even used any force yet. To be honest, I was quite startled at the time."

From the moment he touched the barrier, Carlos had a strange feeling; he even felt that he could pass through it without being affected in any way.

Unfortunately, there is no opportunity to conduct the experiment for the time being.

He couldn't possibly conduct the experiment in front of so many people.

"What do you mean by 'I'm here'?" Vlame ignored Carlos's subsequent words and instead asked him the question in response to his first statement.

"I feel like the people here trust you quite a bit, don't they?" Carlos looked at her strangely. "I just saw a soldier make way for you to come out. Only someone of a certain status would do that. So even if I get questioned, you can come to my aid."

"no……"

What Vlamé wanted to ask was why he thought he would help him, since their relationship shouldn't be that good.

But she simply couldn't bring herself to say it.

"What's wrong?"

Seeing Carlos turn his head to look at him, Vlame shook his head: "It's nothing."

"Hey, what are you two talking about? I didn't disturb you, did I?" Sylvia peeked out from between their shoulders.

"And who is this?" Carlos asked Vlame.

"It's the daughter of the coachman who brought us here."

"It's her..." Carlos nodded to Sylvia. "Hello, my name is Carlos."

"My name is Sylvia, and I'm Lord Vlame's disciple." Sylvia circled around them. "May I ask what your relationship is?"

"Sylvia!" Vlame glared at her. "You've certainly been bothering us."

She didn't want Sylvia involved in their affairs.

"You have friends now, huh?" Carlos didn't think so. After saying this to Vlame, he looked at Sylvia and said, "In exchange for telling you about our relationship, can you tell me what happened to her while I was away?"

"Yes, yes!" Sylvia nodded vigorously.

Neither of them respects them.

Vlame sighed inwardly, feeling helpless for the first time.

"Put your magic away first. Why are you parading around like this?" she said to Carlos.

Although he understood Carlos's reasons for doing so, Vlamé still felt a little uncomfortable.

That immense magical power constantly reminded people of its master's presence, and it's likely to attract others soon.

"Okay, sure."

This place was indeed no longer the territory of the demons, so Carlos quickly condensed the magic he was emitting into a thin rope.

He then discovered that Vlamé was looking at him with great surprise.

"What's wrong? If you're asking why I do this, it's because I've found that it helps me improve my control over magic." Carlos paused, observing the magical fluctuations around Vlame. "Aren't you doing the same thing?"

"You should know that my approach is different from yours." Vlamé gave him a deep look. "I simply limited the magic I emitted, while you just compressed it."

"What? What?" As Vlame's disciple, Sylvia was also training in limiting the release of magic power.

The so-called restriction of magic power refers to restricting the release of external magic power, which can cause the opponent to misjudge one's strength.

The downside is that it consumes a lot of energy, and the magic power inevitably fluctuates; even skilled magicians can still detect the fluctuations.

But judging from what Vlame just said, Carlos not only saw this at a glance, but even used an even more incredible method of cultivation.

"Since limiting magic power became a little less challenging for me, I tried compressing it," Carlos gestured with his hand. "Just for better training."

"Wow, that's amazing..." Sylvia didn't understand, but she was deeply impressed.

Vlame felt she couldn't let Sylvia stay any longer, or the girl might really become a fan of Carlos, so she quickly changed the subject:

"Sylvia, it's getting late. Your father is probably starting to worry about you. Go back and let him know you're safe."

"Huh, it really is!" After glancing at the position of the sun, Sylvia hurriedly slipped away.

In truth, she knew that Vlame was trying to get rid of her, and that what he was about to say was probably something she wouldn't be able to hear.

Carlos shouted to Sylvia as she left, "Don't forget to exchange information with me later!"

"I won't forget!" Sylvia responded just as loudly.

"Honestly, she's still the same old girl." Vlame shook her head helplessly. "I really don't know if she'll ever become a good mage."

"What does it matter?" Carlos paused, then slowly smiled. "Isn't it good to be lively and cheerful at this age?"

"Let's not talk about that anymore. I've wanted to ask you this from the beginning: what's in the briefcase in your left hand?" Vlame asked, looking at the magical artifact shaped like a briefcase.

This is nothing that can't be said, so Carlos replied:

"A wand, food, and a diary."

"A diary?"

"This is my privacy, I won't show it to you."

Carlos smiled, and before they knew it, they had arrived at the hotel entrance.
