Chapter 123 He was smart from a young age (Fourth update)
Henry smiled but didn't say anything more.
Charles heard the sound and looked up.
"Henry!" His eyes lit up. "You've come at the perfect time. Mr. Scamander just told me a lot of interesting things. Did you know that dragon blood has twelve uses? One of them can cure... what was it again?" He turned to look at Newt.
"Father," Henry said helplessly, "you know, that's what I was studying for my final exam."
"Yes, yes." Charles laughed. "After all, you're a wizard now, this is a required course for you."
Newt whispered beside him, "His Highness is very intelligent. He has mastered a lot of knowledge that only older students have access to. I have to say, many children from pure-blood families can't compare to him."
Charles looked at Henry with pride in his eyes.
"He was smart from a young age."
At noon, Charlie arranged for them to have lunch in the research center's small cafeteria.
Although it's called a small restaurant, it's actually a cozy wooden cabin.
A simple meal was laid out on the long table: toast, cheese, vegetable salad, and a large pot of steaming stew.
Charles sat next to Henry, continuing his discussion about environmental issues with Newt while eating.
"So your reserve allows animals to roam completely freely?"
“Yes, we only designate areas,” Newtt nodded, “and don’t interfere with their daily lives. Unless they are injured or need help.”
When the topic of magical creatures comes up, Newt's social anxiety seems to vanish instantly.
When it came to environmental protection, Charles and Newt chatted like long-lost half-brothers, finding common ground in conversation.
However, in terms of age, Newt should actually be from the same generation as Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.
Charles nodded thoughtfully: "This is similar to the concept of wildlife reserves where we live. We also try to minimize human intervention and let nature run its own way."
"It seems His Highness is quite knowledgeable about environmental protection?" Newt asked happily.
"I know a little," Charles said with a smile. "I've started organic farming on my own estate, planted lots of trees, and built a small wildlife sanctuary. It's not as big as this place, but the philosophy is the same."
Newt looked at him with an appreciation in his eyes for a kindred spirit.
"Your Highness, you are a person who truly cares about nature."
"Thank you," Charles said, somewhat pleased. He could tell that Newt's approval of him was genuine.
The wizarding world is so great! The people here are so nice to talk to, and their ideas are similar to his. I really love it here.
Diana, listening nearby, couldn't help but laugh.
"Charles, you were criticized for being unrealistic in the Muggle world, but you've found a kindred spirit in the wizarding world."

Charles glared at her.
"I was misunderstood!" he argued.
Diana smiled even more broadly.
Henry sat beside him, eating quietly, only responding with a word or two when Charles occasionally mentioned him.
Hagrid was also very happy, sitting at the table chatting happily with Diana. It was clear the two got along very well—after all, Diana was a beautiful but somewhat foolish woman, while Hagrid—
Well, he's just an idiot, not really a beauty.
Both were truly kind people. Hagrid's merit is beyond question, and Diana was also a kind person whose kindness has been proven by history.
After lunch, Charlie took them on a tour of the entire reserve.
They visited the medical station, where several magical creatures were recovering from their injuries.
These included a hippogriff with an injured wing, a Welsh green dragon with a bitten tail, and a little Niffler who fell and hurt itself while stealing something.
"The Welsh Green Dragon," Charles said with a touch of melancholy, looking at the green dragon. "I've heard that the Hungarian Horned Bee is the most ferocious fire dragon, but my favorite is still the Welsh Green Dragon—"
"After all, it's your logo," Newt said with a smile.
After that, they visited the research center, which was filled with various instruments and materials.
Newt showed them some experimental records, which Charles found fascinating, and he kept asking questions.
Then, they went to see the staff dormitory. Although the cabins were small, each one was decorated very warmly.
Charlie said that more experts will come in the future, and the dormitory will be expanded.
Finally, they returned to the paddock of Norberta.
Noberta was sunbathing on that big rock. When it saw them coming, it raised its head, let out a low hiss, and spat out a string of sparks.
It's not old enough to breathe fire yet.
"It remembers you," Charlie said.
Henry walked over and stood by the fence.
Nobeta looked at him, jumped off the rock, walked to the fence, and rubbed his head against it.
Henry reached out and stroked its head through the fence, just like Hagrid had done earlier.
Norbert, perhaps suffering from some feline ailment, was making purring noises.
Diana stood beside her, her eyes sparkling.
"It likes you," she whispered.
Henry nodded: "I've known it since it was with Hagrid."
Charles walked over and looked at Norbert as well.
"Is it a Norwegian Spinosaurus?"
Henry nodded: "Yes, Hagrid hatched from an egg—an egg he won playing cards with someone else."
Charles clicked his tongue twice: "Winning a dragon egg just by playing cards? Hagrid is really something—"
He didn't finish speaking, but Henry knew what he wanted to say.
What an amazing person.
"Haha." Hagrid patted his beard. "I never thought I'd win a dragon egg. To be honest, I couldn't believe it until I hatched Nobeta."
By the time the visit ended, the sun had already begun to set.
Charles and Diana are returning to London; they came using a key, so their return will be convenient.
As she was leaving, Diana suddenly called out to Henry.
"Henry".
Henry looked at her.
"What's wrong?"
Diana came over and gave him a gentle hug.
"Mom is proud of you."
Henry was stunned; he hadn't expected his mother to suddenly become so emotional.
Diana released her grip and looked into his eyes.
"Mom knows everything you've done. You saved that unicorn, you built this sanctuary, and you've made so many people want to be your friends. You've done a great job."
Her eyes were a little red, and she reached out to rub her eldest son's hair.
Henry gave her a gentle hug.
"Thank you, Mom."
Charles coughed beside him.
"Alright, alright, it's time to go."
He walked over and patted Henry on the shoulder.
"Remember to write a letter."
Henry nodded: "Yes."
The two of them picked up the door key, and with a flash of white light, they disappeared from the spot.
