Hogwarts: My Grandmother is the Queen
Chapter 121 The Prince's Visit
Chapter 122 The Prince's Visit (Third Update)
A few days later, one afternoon, Henry was reading in the library when an owl flew in and dropped a letter.
It belongs to Charlie.
Your Highness:
There's been significant progress at the reserve, and I'd like you to come and see it. Would it be convenient for you to come this weekend? I'll have Haig show you around.
Also, Mr. Newt is here, and he said he wants to see you.
Looking forward to your reply.
After reading the letter, Charlie Henry picked up his quill and wrote a few words on a new sheet of paper:
See you this weekend.
Then give it to the owl to take back.
Early on a weekend morning, just as the sun was peeking over the tips of the Forbidden Forest, Hagrid came to the Great Hall to find Henry.
"Henry! Are you ready?"
Henry nodded and followed him out of the castle.
The morning air was cool, and a thin layer of mist shrouded the edge of the forbidden forest, like a mysterious veil.
They crossed the lawn and passed the key to the gate leading to the Scottish Highlands—a seemingly ordinary stone, but one that, if touched, could transport a person to the vicinity of the reserve.
"Get ready." Hagrid grabbed Henry's wrist, reached out, and touched the stone.
An invisible force pulled him and Henry inside, and he felt as if his navel was being pulled by a hook and kept spinning.
The dizzying sensation lasted only a few seconds before his feet touched solid ground.
He opened his eyes and froze.
The last time I saw the photos, this place was a barren highland with only a few makeshift shacks and some signs of construction.
Now, things are completely different.
After all, it's a magical world, so the construction speed is extraordinary.
On the hillside, several tall buildings have already sprung up.
The largest building is the research center, which is three stories high and has a natural wood exterior that blends in with the surrounding natural environment.
A slender chimney stood on the roof, emitting wisps of smoke.
Next to it is a medical station, which is a bit smaller but looks very sturdy, with some green vines climbing on the walls.
Further away, there is a row of staff dormitories, scattered on the hillside in a staggered manner, with a small garden in front of each cabin.
Below the hillside are several huge hunting grounds.
Each enclosure was surrounded by high fences, which shimmered with a faint magical light—that was a protective charm.
The terrain of Weichang varies; some areas are covered with rocks, some are covered with grass, and some have babbling brooks flowing through them.
In one of the enclosures, a small black dragon was sunbathing.
It's Norbert.
It has grown quite a bit, now at least seven or eight feet long, its black scales gleaming metallically in the sunlight, and the row of sharp protrusions on its back standing upright like swords.
It lay on a large rock, limbs outstretched, its tail occasionally swishing, looking extremely content.
"Noberta!" Hagrid ran over excitedly, "My little Noberta!"
Norbert looked up and saw Hagrid, a glint of light flashing in his orange-red eyes.
It let out a low hiss, jumped off the rock, ran to the fence, and rubbed its head against it.
Hagrid reached out and stroked its head through the fence.
Norbert made a purring sound, like a giant cat.
"You've grown so much! You're so beautiful!" Hagrid's voice choked with emotion. "Mommy missed you so much!"
Well----
Should we not have a male mother?
Charlie walked out of the research center, saw them, and walked over with a smile.
His work clothes were still covered with bits of grass and dirt, but he was in good spirits.
"Your Highness has arrived," he said.
Henry nodded, his gaze sweeping across the entire protected area.
"Faster than I expected."
"With the money in place, the people were in place, so it was quick," Charlie laughed heartily. "And Mr. Scamander knows a lot of experts; with just a call, more than a dozen came."
At this point, he suddenly realized and said, "Oh right, your parents are here too."
"My father? And my mother?" Henry asked in surprise.
Charlie nodded and said, "His Highness Prince Wales and His Highness the Princess arrived early this morning. His Highness is particularly interested in the environmental protection concepts of the magical world regarding protected areas, and has been talking with Mr. Newt for over an hour."
"Where are they?" Henry asked.
Charlie pointed to the research center.
"It's inside. I'll take you there."
Henry walked into the research center and heard his father's voice.
"—So this moonstone powder really can promote the healing of keel bones? I've seen similar cases in Muggle medical literature, using minerals to supplement calcium—"
Prince Charles stood in front of a long table, with several notebooks and documents spread out in front of him, and was pointing intently at one of the pages.
He was wearing a dark gray casual jacket today, without a tie, and looked much more relaxed than when he was at Buckingham Palace.
Newt stood opposite him, head down, explaining something somewhat embarrassed.
On that face, which was usually plagued by social anxiety, a rare hint of excitement appeared as if he had met someone who shared his interests.
"Yes, yes, that's the principle. The magical components in moonstone can stimulate bone regeneration, much faster than Muggle calcium supplements. We've done experiments; an injured Hungarian wood bee had its wound healed after applying this for a month—"
Charles listened attentively, nodding frequently and occasionally asking for more details.
Nearby, Princess Diana was crouching in a corner, with an injured little Niffler in front of her.
The little creature was curled up on the cushion, one of its hind legs wrapped in bandages, its beady black eyes looking at her pitifully.
"It's okay, sweetie," Diana soothed gently, reaching out her finger to carefully stroke the Sniffler's head. The little creature let out a soft whimper and nuzzled its head against her hand.
Henry stood at the door, somewhat reluctant to break this harmonious and beautiful scene.
He had seen his father receive foreign heads of state at Buckingham Palace and his mother give elegant speeches at charity galas, but he rarely saw them like this—so relaxed, so genuine, so genuinely happy.
"Henry!" Diana was the first to spot him. She stood up, her smile brighter than the sunlight streaming through the window. "Come look! This little guy is so cute!"
Henry walked over and squatted down next to her.
The little sniffle shrank back warily when it saw him, but relaxed when it saw Diana still squatting beside it.
"What's wrong with it?" Henry asked.
Diana pointed to its hind legs.
"Mr. Weasley said it fell into a ditch while stealing something and hurt its leg," she said softly, "poor little thing."
"It broke while stealing something, and you still pity it?" Henry chuckled mischievously.
Diana glared at him.
"It didn't do it on purpose. It's just its nature."
