At the LPL broadcast booth, the staff members were already smiling: "OK, no problem. EDG has finally decided on Lucian in the mid lane and Ziggs in the bot lane. Neither of them are difficult to play. For the top lane, they will choose Jax to lane against Renekton. This will purely depend on individual skill."
Su Xiaoyan joked, "Comparing individual skills with C-God seems a bit unwise. After all, if you really had that ability, you wouldn't be banning top laners five times, would you?"
Zhihuan said in a serious tone: "No matter what, the lineups on both sides in this game are still very unique, especially the clashes between the top, mid and jungle in the early game, which will be very exciting and everyone should definitely not miss it."
[I laughed. I didn't see the collision, but I did see the extraction.]
I can understand not building Corruption Elixir, but building Cull to fight crocodiles instead of Doran's Sword and Shield is something I really can't understand.
They really don't give you any face at all.
[C has already committed the sin of arrogance; if we can't crush the opponent this game, I'll hold them accountable.]
Within the EDG team, Clearlove also noticed Li Chen's item build and said somewhat speechlessly, "You're starting with Cull? Don't you even consider the enemy team human?"
"I treated him too well. He might be able to handle other items, but I don't believe he can resist using extract."
Li Chen always felt that the top lane was not only a place to test skills, but also a battlefield to test intelligence and strategy. Just look at how many people in ranked matches get into fights over a question mark or an emoticon from the opponent.
Professional gamers are human too, and they can't escape the calculations of Sun Tzu's Art of War.
Both sides started the game normally. Li Chen was stuck in a bush on the blue side, ready to teach the enemy crocodile a lesson.
When facing off against a champion like Jax and Renekton, the most crucial aspect in the early game is the passive abilities of both sides. This is because the passives of both champions directly affect their dueling ability, and whoever stacks more passives will have the advantage in the fight.
Hauntzer understood this, so even though he knew the weapon might be hiding in the bushes, he still followed the minion wave forward, wanting to attack the minions first to secure the lane and build up rage.
Li Chen didn't come out immediately. He waited until both sides of the minion waves had fully formed their battle formation before emerging from the bushes and then taking a detour to the back of the crocodile.
hauntzer had only attacked the creeps twice and was still a long way from reaching his red fury.
Seeing the weapon's aggressive movement, he considered it for a moment and decided to take the plunge.
Both players showed some subtlety here. When the weapon player approached the crocodile, he subtly attacked the blue team's ranged minions twice to stack his passive ability.
The crocodile positioned itself close to the red minions, allowing it to use its Q skill to hit three more minions, thus securing the lane and healing itself while stacking rage.
Finally, when the two entered each other's basic attack range, they attacked each other almost simultaneously.
The only difference is that the crocodile's combo is AQ, while the weapon's combo is EA.
The weapon's details here involve taking the first auto-attack from the crocodile, causing the crocodile to draw minion damage, then using E to weaken the Q skill damage, and his auto-attack also attracts minion aggro, thus stacking E skill damage for himself.
At this point in the game, the situation is still acceptable to both sides.
But then the weapon A was used a second time, simultaneously blocking the crocodile's retreat route and forcing it to retreat into the bushes.
Even a Bronze player wouldn't make such a stupid move to fight a weapon with its E active. Hauntzer naturally couldn't just stand there and let himself be hit, so he could only turn around and walk into the bushes.
The two walked into the bushes at the same time, but the crocodile was a little closer. Just as the crocodile was about to enter the bushes, Li Chen used his E skill to stun the crocodile on the spot.
He then approached the bushes, used an attack on the crocodile, and then entered the bushes first.
Hauntzer lost sight of Li Chen, and his first basic attack after regaining mobility failed, which was a huge loss.
Even so, the crocodile dared not enter the bushes. At this point, the weapon's passive was almost fully stacked, and if he continued to fight, he might lose his Flash. He could only turn around and pull away towards the river again.
Li Chen controlled his weapon to chase the crocodile out of the bushes and attack it again. Then he turned around and went back into the bushes to draw the minions' aggro before leaving the bushes to start farming minions.
The crocodile suffered such a huge loss, getting hit four times by the weapon at level one, taking a full stack of its passive E skill, and being hit a few times by minions. It was almost half health left, and in order to maintain its health, it had to use its only health potion.
Meanwhile, the crocodile was also trying to farm minions and push the lane, then slowly moved towards the weapon.
Hauntzer knows very well that he can no longer play defensively and let the lane go; this game is not suited for him to play defensively, and if he retreats, he may become silent in the early game.
Playing Renekton is absolutely unacceptable when you're at a disadvantage in the early game, especially since they're playing top, mid, and jungle in this game, and a fight is very likely to break out at level three.
He must take advantage of the time when his weapon's E skill is unavailable, use his Q skill to turn the tide of the game and get to level two first, then he can have a chance to win.
Furthermore, he noticed the weapon's health was incorrect at the start of the game and saw the weapon's extraction effect, so it wasn't impossible to operate.
However, Li Chen saw right through his little scheme. Since Li Chen was building Culling in this game, he couldn't compete with Renekton's Doran's Shield for sustain. So even without his E skill, Li Chen would never easily give Renekton the opportunity to take lane control.
He now has an absolute health advantage, and as long as he doesn't get hit by the crocodile's skills, he can accept trading blows.
Moreover, his E skill just stunned four blue minions, so he has a minion wave advantage now, and Renekton won't gain much advantage by attacking him.
The two traded blows several times. The crocodile managed to heal himself by using his Q on the weapon, but he was also hit by the weapon's auto-attack, leaving him at a health disadvantage and unable to gain an advantage in the minion wave.
Soon the second wave of minions arrived, and Li Chen's E skill was ready, so he decisively started pushing forward.
The crocodile was currently enraged, so Li Chen wouldn't let him attack both the enemy and the minions together, as that would cause too much health gain. He needed to drive the crocodile out of the minion range first.
Hauntzer felt he was having a tough time; he desperately wanted to farm creeps to heal, but he never had the chance.
Seeing the weapon approaching, he had no choice but to use his red-rage Q to retreat, while Li Chen activated his E skill, drawing minion aggro and chasing the crocodile, eventually triggering a full stack of passive stun.
Li Chen didn't try to land a basic attack here. After stunning the crocodile, he immediately retreated, not giving the crocodile a chance to counterattack.
Without the crocodile's interference, in order to control the speed at which the minion wave pushed under the tower, Li Chen began to push the wave slowly, waiting for the third wave of minions to arrive before pushing under the tower together. Hauntzer had no way to deal with this and could only watch helplessly as the weapon controlled the wave.
He's out of health potions and only has half health left, while his weapon has been healed and will be back to full health soon. He's no match for him. If he goes up to provoke him again, he'll definitely lose his Blink ability at level two.
