Chapter 53 Problem Solving

Zhang Ailun directed the two to divide the work and cooperate.

The two immediately agreed, saying there was no problem.

As for what Zhang Ailun himself will do?

He was just an ordinary, five-star good citizen of Los Angeles.

If you don't want to be taken to the police station for an identity check, you should slip away first and remain an observer; then the rest will be none of your business.

Dominic knew that Zhang Ailun was an undocumented person and didn't want to make a scene in front of the police, so he asked him for the video to save it and immediately dialed 911.

"Hello, this is the 911 Southern Precinct. What's the situation here?" the operator at the Southern Precinct asked as she answered the phone.

"An officer is dying! Send someone over immediately! Current location: Fifth Street, under the sewage outlet of the Cakin Bridge." Dominic didn't waste any time, delivering a thunderous opening that left the operator stunned.

Dominic immediately gave a concise account of the situation.

The operator, being professionally trained, quickly calmed down and focused on asking key questions. She also notified officers on patrol nearby and dispatched an emergency ambulance.

The reply was: "Sir, I have notified nearby officers, who will arrive shortly. Please do not leave the scene before they arrive. Do your best to assist and ensure Officer Miguel's safety. Thank you very much for your cooperation. Please do not hang up during this time."

"Okay," Dominic readily agreed, keeping the phone in a call-only state.

Operators at the Southern Branch receive dozens or even hundreds of emergency calls every day. If they encounter a nonsensical call, they also need to determine whether the caller's current environment is dangerous. Without high quality and comprehension, it is truly impossible to be competent in this job.

If a taxpayer calls the police, you should resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Even if a 72-year-old Black grandfather calls the police saying he is being held hostage at knifepoint by his grandson, and the police dispatch center sends officers over, kicks down the door, and without saying a word, emptys the magazines, shooting the two men a total of more than sixty times, then shoots both of them and carries them away, that would be considered a solution.

Otherwise, your police station will have no future.

The United States has world-class police response speed and even more outstanding problem-solving speed.

If you can't solve the problem, then remove the person who caused it as well. That's how you say the problem is solved!

Zhang Ailun rode Trek Butterfly back to the shore and watched from afar as if nothing had happened.

Sig carried Officer Mig out of the sewage outlet and placed him on a wide roadside, taking off his clothes to let him use as a pillow. The man was incredibly resilient; despite multiple vital injuries, he was still breathing, with dried blood covering the back of his head and face. Sig immediately began first aid.

Stimulated by the light, Officer Miguel slowly regained consciousness and could no longer remember how many times he had woken up and tried to call for help, only to have his phone and wallet stolen by those unfamiliar black men.

Lying alone in a small, cramped space, surrounded by a stench, I felt utterly hopeless, as if I was doomed to die.

When Miguel was first attacked, he thought he was being robbed. His first thought was to give the money to the attacker to save his life, and then call the police to notify his colleagues who were working the night shift nearby to get revenge and launch a crackdown on organized crime! Even passing black dogs would get slapped twice!

But his opponent immediately went for the kill, using knives, spears, clubs, and punches to deliver brutal blows, which left him somewhat bewildered and gave him reason to doubt the opponent's motives for revenge.

But it was early morning, and the road was pitch black with no streetlights, cameras, or surveillance equipment. He couldn't remember what those black men looked like.

The opponent's initial skin comes with a Dark Cloak, which you cannot distinguish with the naked eye.

Residents have reported the issue of street light repairs to the municipal bureau and community departments several times, but their response has been that the repairs will be delayed for three years.

The community archives record the first filing date as 2009, and more than a decade has passed. Three years later, then another three years, and then yet another three years—no one seems to bother to resolve this issue.

Officer Miguel was dizzy and disoriented. Thank goodness, he couldn't believe he'd been rescued! And by such a kind-hearted citizen of Los Angeles!

Looking at the large white man who had given him first aid, especially his camouflage hat, he felt that the man looked somewhat familiar.

"Who are you?"

"I'm Sig Comprey, do you remember me? Officer Mig? We've met before. The first time was when I went to the police station to turn myself in, but the court rejected it, and I was detained for a few hours before being released. You and your colleague had just changed shifts then. The second time was at the convenience store on E.T. Street where I was robbed, and you gave me back $20."

Sieg immediately struck up a conversation with him, urging him to think more, stay conscious, and not fall asleep.

He then described his physical condition, saying, "You are seriously injured, with multiple bruises and injuries to vital areas, a high possibility of broken bones, and significant bleeding. Fortunately, you are in good physical condition and were not hit in any truly fatal areas. I have already given you basic first aid and bandaging. The fact that you are still conscious means you are out of danger. My friend has already called the police, and officers on duty nearby will be arriving soon."

"I remember you. You're the veteran, right? Thank you for saving me."

Miguel answered honestly, and his consciousness gradually became clear. Although he wondered how the other party had managed to get him out, he was too injured to care about that now.

"Is that person next to you your friend?"

"That's right, he's still on the line with the operator," Sieg replied.

"Could I speak with the operator for a few minutes?"

"Yes, but try not to talk too much. Don't get too emotional, so as not to cause further harm."

"OK".

Miguel agreed. Sig also beckoned Dominic over and put the phone to his ear.

"I'm Miguel, are you Sally or Lyra?"

The operator quickly replied upon hearing the voice, "This is Lyra. Hey, Mig, how are you doing?"

"Not good, I'm a bit unlucky, but I'm out of danger. I suspect those black guys who attacked me are connected to the people from the zero-dollar shopping group."

"I understand. Thank goodness, it's enough to confirm you're still conscious. We can talk about other things after you've received your doctor's treatment. I have other calls coming in, so I can't keep the line busy for too long."

Operator Leila didn't talk much with Sieg either; he was still sick and injured. It was best to talk less and rest more.

Not long after, Zhang Ailun heard the sound of police sirens. Three Ford 150s sped through the streets and alleys, arriving at the Kakin Bridge. After parking nearby, the officers immediately got out and headed straight for the injured.

Shortly afterward, another ambulance arrived at the scene.

Several officers inspected the second crime scene, inquired about Miguel's condition, and set up a cordon. Two officers searched and routinely questioned Sig and Dominic, asking them to show their identification.

His attitude was much milder, and even after learning that the two were homeless vagrants and that Sieg was an unregistered person whose registration had been cancelled by the military, he did not make things too difficult for them.

Dominic answered fluently and produced prepared video evidence, which earned him high praise from the police officers.

He also notified the dispatch center that he had obtained strong evidence and leads about the black man attacking the police from law-abiding citizens and that they could immediately dispatch personnel to carry out the arrest operation.

They could even bring in media reporters to promote racial correctness, praising good citizen behavior and the incident of Officer Miguel being injured in the line of duty, thus severely undermining Black Lives Matter rhetoric.

After paramedics carried Miguel onto a stretcher and took him to the hospital, police officers also asked them to take a car to the police station to give statements. One person in one car, sitting in the passenger seat, with his bicycle and skateboard folded up in the trunk—this kind of treatment is not something ordinary people get.

Police officers are human too. If you help them and earn their favor, they will naturally reward you by awarding you a Good Citizen Award! This will significantly boost your credit score and earn you special treatment.

Perhaps the treatment of homeless people in the neighborhood will even improve.

It's unlikely that they'll get extra food. At most, white and colored homeless people will get kicked a couple less times, while black people will get kicked a couple more times on average.

Nearby gang members will have to stay put and behave themselves in front of their homes to avoid trouble, and the number of zero-dollar purchase events will indirectly decrease.
