Chapter 78 Cooperation
Chapter 78 Cooperation (Part Two)
Lynn squeezed through the narrow passage and went inside, led by two goblin wanderers.
Red-Eye walked at the front. In its words, since it was the temporary captain, it should be responsible for the most dangerous part of the road. This little goblin was very thoughtful and daring. Lynn admired it quite a bit.
The monster lairs Lynn has encountered so far all have the same layout. Most of them are very similar. At the end of a narrow passage is the monster lair hall, where the monsters that need to be slain by the wizards quietly wait for the apprentices' favor, or perhaps the apprentices are favored by the monsters.
As Lynn walked into the hall, he heard thunderous snoring.
In the center of the hall lay a tall monster with an ugly appearance, dark green skin, a large nose, and a pair of large fangs protruding from its lower lip. It was covered with a simple animal skin, but this skin did not appear to be a complete piece. Instead, it was pieced together and sewn together from the leather of many species. One piece of skin was smooth and clean, somewhat like pigskin, but even more delicate.
It held a thick wooden stick in its arms, with many sharp nails stuck at the top. Although it looked simple, there was no doubt that this monster, whose shoulders were almost as tall as an average person when it was lying on its side, could use this simple stick to smash the enemy's head.
"Troll!"
"It's a troll."
The goblin wanderers were somewhat panicked, even a little fearful.
Red-Eye was also nervous when he first saw the troll, but he quickly calmed down.
"Master, trolls are the natural enemies of our goblin race," Red Eyes said through gritted teeth.
"Natural enemy?"
"That's right. We goblins live in the wilderness, and besides us goblins and some other natural races, the most numerous creatures in the wilderness are trolls," Red Eyes said.
"Trolls are the dominant race in the wilderness. A lone, wandering troll might be alright, but if you encounter a hunting troll pack, you can only pray that these trolls don't discover us. Hunting troll packs leave nothing but desolation in their wake; everything that lives will be snatched away and become their food."
Redeye mentioned that his breathing was a little rapid when he mentioned the troll pack hunting.
Are trolls really that powerful?
Based on his knowledge, a rich variety of species live and thrive on the Wizarding Continent.
Some of them are native species, while others are exotic species introduced by wizards.
Trolls are a well-known monster, but they are still far from becoming the overlords of the wilderness. The wilderness is not simply a barren land, but a rough and savage land area other than the area where humans live and thrive. The wilderness includes various complex terrains such as forests, swamps, ice fields, and mountains.
The vast wilderness is home to various dragons, powerful mutant wyverns, wild behemoths, and subspecies of titans. Compared to these powerful legendary creatures, trolls are nothing more than little brothers.
It seems that the plane Red-Eye was in before was not part of the Wizarding Continent plane, but rather another plane in the multiverse.
In that plane of existence, trolls were the most elite race in the wilderness.
"I'll go first." Lynn took out his staff and prepared to cast a spell.
Sleeping spell!
Grayish-white smoke drifted toward the troll.
The troll, lying on its side, snored even louder.
Lynn wasn't sure if the Sleeping Curse would work, so he cast it on the troll twice more.
Three sleeping spells should allow me to sleep a little longer, right?
The Fear spell is likely to wake them from their slumber, so the Earth Ring spell is the only one that can be used.
Lynn then cast an Earth Ring spell on the troll.
Transparent chains extended from the earth, firmly binding the troll's legs.
After doing all this, Lynn used another Fatigue Touch on the troll.
"You go in first and poison the arrows," Lynn said.
Four goblin wanderers cautiously entered the monster's lair, imbuing their arrows with magical venom extract. This troll hunt filled them with excitement and thrill.
Lynn stared at the troll on the ground, whose eyes were still tightly closed, and fired an acid missile at its eyes!
sizzle-
Amidst the blinding white smoke, accompanied by a deafening roar, the troll was awakened by intense pain.
The area around the eyes was a bloody mess, and even the upper half of the head had been corroded into a large hole. Despite this, new granulation tissue continued to grow from the wound at a visible rate.
The troll, who had crawled up from the ground, frantically swung his giant club.
The stick whipped up gusts of wind and smashed into the ground, creating a large crater.
Whoosh!Whoosh!Whoosh!
Three arrows flew out, heading straight for the troll's head.
The best way to deal with a troll is to attack its vital points, especially since its head is already injured.
Hearing the wind, the blind troll instinctively swung its club, trying to run, but the earth-shattering chains beneath its feet suddenly tightened, trapping it in place. The club deflected one arrow, but the remaining two cunning and ruthless arrows struck its head.
The troll's massive body trembled, and a blinding crimson light suddenly surged from its surface. It was a large amount of blood mist that poured out from the pores of its skin, turning into a layer of blood mist that enveloped it.
In this state, the troll's ears twitched, and then without hesitation, it transformed its club into a throwing weapon and hurled it!
"Roar!!!" The troll roared furiously, its face contorted in a ferocious expression, as it opened its blood-red maw.
A loud bang followed.
In a corner, large sections of the wall were broken, and amidst the splattering smoke, a goblin wanderer was pinned to the wall.
The upper half of his body was completely embedded in the wall, turning into minced meat.
Almost simultaneously, a bright orange flame traced a graceful arc as a minor fireball struck the troll's head with pinpoint accuracy.
Flames from the explosion scattered in all directions.
The troll's body trembled, and the enormous creature, taller than two adult men, collapsed to the ground with a thud.
Seeing the troll lying on the ground, Red Eyes screamed excitedly and suddenly jumped up. It rushed over and frantically stabbed the troll's neck with its rapier, letting out strange roars. Its bloodshot eyes, red from excessive excitement, were filled with tears.
Looking at the troll's corpse, Lynn clicked his tongue in amazement. This thing was far too difficult to deal with. If he hadn't prepared so many spells in advance, his team might not have been able to handle it.
This is just one troll; I've heard that trolls are social creatures.
It's unimaginable what it would be like if such a group of trolls were to transform into an army and charge head-on.
In the center of the monster's lair, the ground slowly sank, then rose again after a moment, revealing a black treasure chest that was three meters long.
Walk over and open the treasure chest. Inside is a points sheet with a part-time job instruction manual, as well as three items.
A small fountain model, about one meter in diameter, resembling a fountain sculpture.
A black-covered book with the words "Troll Handbook" written in large characters on the front.
And a manual documenting the extraordinary profession of Goblin Mad Hatter Shaman.
Setting the statue model aside, Lynn opened the troll manual.
"Trolls are dangerous, evil, and aggressively brutal creatures. They have built their civilization into kingdoms composed of clans. With their strong adaptability, they live in a variety of harsh environments, and their malleable bodies have allowed their bodies to evolve differently in different harsh environments."
Trolls value their young highly, and they regularly expel or execute individuals who threaten the stability of the clan, banishing them to the wilderness. This is the origin of most roaming trolls in the wild.
A typical adult troll can be over 4 meters tall, but because of their habitual hunchback and their tendency to drag their hands on the ground, most ordinary trolls appear to be only about 3 meters tall.
These gluttonous trolls have an insatiable hunger, capable of devouring a whole fat pig every day. They also possess incredible regenerative abilities; even if a limb is severed, it can quickly heal by placing it on the wound, or it can expend a great deal of energy to regenerate a new limb in a short time.
Upon seeing this, Lynn clicked his tongue. Such a powerful healing ability? If the battle hadn't ended so quickly, that troll's blind eyeballs might have grown back if it had dragged on a little longer.
Lynn marveled at the trolls' incredible vitality.
If one could thoroughly study the trolls' healing abilities, or extract the special factors that come with this powerful talent and bestow them upon other creatures, the mortality rate of one's own followers could be greatly reduced.
"To deal with a troll, you need to deplete its stamina. When a troll is hungry, its regenerative ability will be greatly reduced. Alternatively, destroying its severed limbs and forcing it to expend more stamina to create new limbs is also a good method."
Within the troll community, a rare number of individuals awaken spellcasting abilities. These trolls with awakened spellcasting abilities are given special attention and training by their own kind, and often hold a higher status within the troll community.
Trolls also possess a large number of advanced classes: Troll Guardian, Troll Bloodthirsty Warrior, Troll Wanderer, Troll Mountain Warrior, Troll Wrathbringer, Troll Overlord, and Troll Dragon Slayer.
The following content is quite extensive, including detailed introductions to each advanced class of the troll, mainly focusing on how to deal with its weaknesses.
Lynn only glanced at it briefly before closing the book.
I'll watch it slowly tonight when I have time.
