Chapter 56 Siren (Part Two)

According to this Bakhov sprite, even sleeping spots on the ship must be "fought for" by the apprentices themselves.

The only saving grace is that food and water on the ship are free. You can come to the kitchen at any time of day, tap the table to summon the Bakhoff sprite, and order food.

Besides the Bakhov sprites, the ship's crew also includes ghost sailors and talking picture frames in the corridors.

"How long does it usually take for a ship to reach its destination?" Lynn asked the little elf, Bakhoff.

"It should take about two years. Every time I go out, the flowers I plant can bear fruit twice, once a year, so it should take about two years," the little sprite Bakhoff said, scratching his head. "Would you like something to eat?"

"What do you have to eat here?" Lynn asked.

"Most of the food is available, but if you have any hometown dishes you'd like to eat, you can tell me how to make them. I love trying to make new foods," said the little sprite standing on the table.

Hometown dishes.

Lynn thought for a long time, then said, "Let's have some barbecue."

"Okay, sir. How much would you like? We don't allow food to be taken out of the restaurant, and we also don't allow food to be wasted. If you waste food, we will reheat the leftovers for you next time you come to the restaurant, free of charge, until you finish them. However, reheated food usually doesn't taste as good."

"300g will do," Lynn said.

"Yes, sir." The Bakhoff sprite vanished in a flash.

After the Bakhov elf left, Lynn sat down and tapped his fingers lightly on the table.

Two years

If the ship departs from the starting point and makes a round trip, including travel time, it means that a one-way trip would only take one year.

I just don't know if we're returning or starting now, and how much time we have left. If we have two more years, that's a really long time.

Those noble wizard apprentices who set out from Bangor Port probably knew how long it would take to reach their destination.

bang~

A flash of blue light appeared before their eyes, and the little Bakhov sprite came to the table carrying a plate many times larger than itself.

A plate of fragrant roasted meat appeared on the table. "Please enjoy, sir."

The little sprite, Bakhoff, picked up his tiny chef's hat, bowed to Lynn, and then vanished in a flash.

Lynn tasted the food and he understood why the wizard's notes described the Bakhoffs as natural-born chefs; the food was indeed delicious.

Lynn went down to the fourth floor and finally saw an empty room with the key in the lock.

Lynn found a spare room to stay in, which had four beds, but all of them were empty.

There was a faint musty smell in the air, so I guess not many people usually live here.

Lynn took the key out and went inside.

At night, there was a lot of noise coming from the corridor outside, including some arguments.

A short while later, there was a knock on the door.

Lynn opened her eyes, glanced at the door that was being knocked on, then closed her eyes and ignored it.

But the knocking didn't stop.

After a while, Lynn got up, picked up his staff, and opened the door.

"What are you doing, knocking for so long and still not answering the door!"

Several people were standing outside the door. Seeing that Lynn had taken so long to open the door, a tall man behind the young man at the head of the group said with dissatisfaction.

"My name is Anusheh Prat." Several young wizards stood outside the door.

Lynn recognized one of the wizards in the lead; he was the same young man in the purple-gold robe who had been leading the group on the deck earlier. Lynn knew his name very well.

Prat is the name of the royal family of the Kingdom of Erdoru, and the young man in front of him should be a member of the royal family of the Kingdom of Erdoru.

"The top two decks should already be occupied by the wizards who boarded earlier. This deck is probably for the wizards who boarded from Bangor Port. When traveling, we all come from the same place, so we should stick together," Anusheh said. "Many of our royal ancestors joined wizarding academies, and some have even become full-fledged wizards. You may not know this, but it's extremely difficult for ordinary wizarding apprentices to become full-fledged wizards at wizarding academies."

"To become a full-fledged wizard, an apprentice wizard needs to acquire a vast amount of knowledge. Learning spells and conducting experiments require a great deal of wealth. Among wizards, ordinary gold and silver are useless; wizards trade using magic stones. I've established the Erdor Wizard Apprentice Mutual Aid Association. If you're interested, you can come and listen in. The Erdor Wizard Apprentice Mutual Aid Association also facilitates the trading of knowledge and resources. It's located in room 108 on the first floor."

After finishing speaking, Anushek politely closed the door for Lynn and prepared to turn and leave.

"I'd like to ask how much longer we'll need to stay on the ship?" Lynn asked.

Anusheh paused for a moment after turning halfway around, then turned back and smiled, "It will probably take about another six months."

Lynn watched Anusheh's retreating figure and then closed the door.

Lynn pondered to himself, thinking that if he meditated for half a year, it shouldn't be difficult for his mental strength to reach the standard of a third-level wizard apprentice.

The number of spells can also meet the standard: ten zero-ring spells and one first-ring spell.

Then, the only downside to knowledge is that you don't have enough experimental materials. You can only conduct 10 or 20 experiments before you run out. Without materials, you can't do experiments, and without experiments, your daily task progress will be stuck and you won't be able to gain experience.

However, there are ways to overcome this problem. Just because experiments in mutation studies are impossible doesn't mean that experiments in necromancy are impossible.

Necromancy only requires a corpse to fulfill its most important material for experiments.

Lynn's eyes were deep and unfathomable.

For the next few days, aside from going out to eat, I spent the rest of my time in my room meditating.

As for the mutual aid society that Anusheh mentioned, Lynn took a look when he had some free time, but never went back.

Lynn went to the so-called mutual aid society once, only to find it was all empty promises.

When the wizarding apprentices met Lynn, they made all sorts of promises to him. Some wanted Lynn to hand over his wizarding heritage, others wanted him to conduct experiments for them, and still others wanted him to become their follower.

Their reward was simply that once they arrived on the Wizarding Continent, Lynn would be able to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors and have the opportunity to gain more knowledge.

If it were truly a commoner wizard who lacked knowledge and simply had good fortune in inheriting a wizarding legacy, perhaps he would have actually believed what they said.

But for Lynn, who has memories of two lifetimes, this idea still seems a little immature.

boom--

On the dark sea, a light, ghost-like ship cut through the waves at high speed. Suddenly, the ship shook violently as if it had hit something, and waves rose up around it, causing the ship to slow down abruptly.

Two wizard apprentices sitting on the deck watched as bright "lights" floated on the dark sea outside.

Suddenly, a wave of water shot out from the sea, and the next moment, a wizard apprentice sitting on the deck was pierced through the chest. His companion next to him couldn't help but scream in terror, breaking the quiet atmosphere of the ship.

Meanwhile, in the alchemy laboratory, soft light illuminated the room. Lynn, who was conducting an experiment on the lab table, put down the reagents in his hand. Next to him, large blue bubbles appeared on the surface of the sea god statue that had been sealed by Anglie.

A faint, salty smell emanated from the location of the Neptune statue.
