Chapter 31 The Banquet (Part 1)

Wilvi stared at the water ghost, stunned for a long time, when suddenly her image overlapped with that of someone from her memory.

"Uncle Dybala!" Velvi screamed.

She couldn't reconcile this deranged and monstrous creature with her kind, tall, and gentle uncle.

In her memory, Uncle Dybala was the most famous and elegant gentleman in the family. She vaguely remembered that Uncle Dybala was punished by her grandfather for falling in love with a commoner woman.

I haven't seen him much since then. My father told me that Uncle Dybala was sent to a remote part of the family business.

At that time, she still felt some regret.

But to my surprise, my missing uncle was locked up here.

"Is that the little brat next to you the food you brought for your uncle? It smells so sweet, it has a... a captivating aroma."

Dybala squinted.

Then my gaze shifted to Lauren at the very back.

"Interesting reptiles, perhaps they offer a unique flavor." Dybala stuck out his black tongue.

His tongue was very long, almost reaching his chest.

The viscous liquid dripped from his tongue onto the ground.

"Uncle Dybala, what are you doing here?" Velvi said.

"Why am I here?" Dybala asked himself, his expression suddenly turning ferocious, as if he had been provoked.

He clenched his fists in a frenzy and slammed them heavily on the ground, shattering the bluestone bricks.

"Why am I here?! Well, you should ask your dear grandfather, my dear father! They chose me and threw me into this hell with their own hands!"

"I became a ghost because they forced me to!"

Dybala was panting heavily, and his mind seemed to have regained some clarity.

"Vilvie, I'm asking you, how is my lover Marasia? They promised me they would give Marasia a decent job and support me and her child," Dybala asked.

Vervi looked blank; she had never heard of Uncle Dybala having another child.

I saw the confusion in Vilvi's eyes.

Dybala's expression gradually darkened.

"So it was all a lie, a complete lie from beginning to end?" Dybala rasped.

"I don't know..." Velvi said, bewildered.

"Excuse me for interrupting your family reunion, but I'd like to know where all those captured by your family went. Are there any other places where people are being held besides here?" Lynn asked.

Dybala looked at Lynn and grinned menacingly, "Those who were captured, of course, were all eaten by me."

Lynn's smile vanished. "That joke isn't funny."

"If you can dive to the bottom, you'll find the skeletons scattered all over the bottom. Maybe they're my dinner from last week, or even last month?" Dybala grinned maliciously.

"Once a week? Okay, I understand," Lynn said calmly.

Since this idiot across from me didn't mention yesterday's or today's dinner, there's a chance.

It seems my sister was probably hidden somewhere else in the manor... The most troublesome thing is that she wasn't hidden in the manor at all.

That makes sense; these kinds of things are usually not known to the younger generation in the family.

However, they stumbled upon the secrets of the Borent family by accident.

The rumors circulating outside turned out to be true; the Borent family truly possessed an extraordinary lineage.

Dybala suddenly charged at Lynn, who pulled Vervier back and then took two steps back to hide behind Lauren.

The chains that extend from the ankles to the ceiling go from bent to taut.

Stop when you are less than two meters away from Lynn.

slam-la-

The chain was taut, and the claws almost touched it.

"Aren't you afraid of me?" Dybala said.

"Your enemy is not me," Lynn said, turning and leaving.

He had no interest in getting involved in the family feuds and grudges, especially when the other party was unwilling to communicate with him.

Meanwhile, Lynn took Vervie away.

If he really couldn't find his sister, he decided to use Velvi as a hostage in a one-for-one exchange for her.

"Master, how do you know the chains can't catch us?" Lauren asked.

"Because there's a line underfoot," Lynn said.

While observing his surroundings, he noticed the line beneath his feet.

The appearance of a semi-circular line in this place is quite intriguing.

He observed that the center of this semicircle seemed to be exactly at the top of the chain.

Furthermore, during their brief encounter, he discovered that the water ghost seemed emotionally unstable. For their own safety, those who keep water ghosts naturally need a safe boundary.

So... it's not hard to guess.

"Wait," came Dybala's voice from behind.

"Can you do me a favor?" Dybala said.

Lynn kept walking.

"I can tell you where my family lives in Tibet. My brother is a pedophile, and if we delay, there might be consequences you don't want to see," Dybala said.

"..." Lynn stopped in her tracks.

Seeing Lynn stop, Dybala revealed a triumphant smile: "It's simple, you steal a key for me."

"No need for that." Lynn held up his staff and aimed it at the chains above the ceiling.

As the tip of the staff glowed purple, a swirling mass of liquid gradually took shape in the humid air.

Dybala's pupils contracted, a hint of apprehension flashing in his eyes. He suddenly understood the source of the man's confidence. It turned out that he was also a being with extraordinary power, just like himself, and without having to become this inhuman, ghostly figure.

"Tell me the answer first," Lynn said.

Dybala said, "I'll tell you, the answer is in his study. There's a separate room behind his study where he kept those girls—of course, that was several years ago, and I can't guarantee he's moved it now. As for how to open that secret room, there's a black box in one of the shelves in his bookcase; you can open the secret room by turning that box."

"Acid Missile." The acid missile at the tip of Lynn's staff flew towards the ceiling.

Whether intentionally or unintentionally, the clump of acid hit the top chain but missed it by a tiny bit.

The highly corrosive acid completely corroded the iron chain.

Only a small portion remained tied at the top.

Dybala tugged at the chain, and large chunks of plaster fell from the ceiling.

It's been untied, but not completely.

However, with his strength, it wouldn't be long before he could completely tear off the remaining chain that was fixed to the ceiling.

Dybala's eyes were blazing with fervor, like a mad wolf, his hands gripping the chain, pulling it down frantically, again and again. "My brother, and my father, wait for me, wait for me!"

While they were waiting, Lynn had already led the two of them out of the basement.

"You should know where your father's study is," Lynn said to Wilvie.

Having witnessed Lynn unleash his magic, Velvi dared not act recklessly.

Obediently nodded, and then led the way for Lynn.

The manor's first-floor hall was brightly lit and bustling with activity.

"Is your family hosting a banquet?" Lynn asked.

"I heard that a duke's daughter from the kingdom has arrived, and my father and several brothers are circling around her like a herd of stallions in heat," Velvi said nonchalantly.

With Vilvie as the mole, they made their way to Vilvie's father's study without any trouble.
