Chapter 30 Water Ghost
Chapter 30 The Water Ghost (Part Two)
The maid dared not respond; this was not a topic she could discuss, not even behind someone's back.
The Viscount is very strict; any disobedient servants in the manor are thrown to be fed to the fish.
Her responsibility was to serve her mistress well and keep her from leaving the estate.
The maid tried to grab the blonde girl's arm, but the blonde girl stopped and slapped the maid across the face.
"You're just a servant, who gave you the right to touch me?" the blonde little girl said with disgust.
The maid covered her face and lowered her head.
"Let me tell you, it's none of your business where I go. You just stand here, and you're not allowed to tell my father, or I'll have my brother beat you to death." The blonde little girl snorted coldly and quickly left.
The maid's face turned deathly pale.
She didn't know what to do; if her young lady got lost, she would surely be beaten to death by the Viscount.
The young lady has a bad temper, and the young master is even more domineering, having beaten quite a few servants to death on a daily basis.
While the maid was struggling with her decision, the blonde little girl had already run off.
The maid, regaining her senses, quickly ran towards her mistress's direction.
Lynn's eyes flickered slightly.
"Hmph, finally free. I don't want to marry an old man," Wilvi muttered to herself, pouting as she hid behind a flowerbed.
Just as she was about to get up, a large hand reached out from behind and covered her mouth.
"Shh, ma'am, please be quiet. You don't want your face to get scratched, do you?" The cold knife was gently pressed against her soft face.
Vervi's face was deathly pale, and her eyes looked around helplessly.
But this place is too remote, and hardly anyone comes here usually. She deliberately hid here.
At that moment, Velvi felt a pang of regret.
"I'll ask, you answer. If I think for more than two seconds, my hand might accidentally shake a little," Lynn's gentle voice sounded behind her.
"Where did all those people your father abducted go?" Lynn asked.
"I don't know," Velvi shook her head.
I don't want to ask a third time.
As Vilvi was about to cry, a certain detail suddenly flashed through her mind.
"I really don't know, but I know where it might be hidden," Wilvi said.
"Some of the port's death row inmates are locked in basements; if there's anywhere to hide them, they're probably kept there," Wilvie said.
basement……
Lynn squinted; it sounded like a good place to hide someone.
"Take me to the basement."
Lynn nodded toward the distance, and Lauren, who had crawled out of the ditch with her butt sticking out, also nodded to Lynn.
……
The basement was actually located in a building near the river.
There are many lush trees planted between here and the manor.
Using the large tree as cover, Lynn sneaked into the entrance of the building by the river.
Apart from an iron lock and a closed iron gate, there was no one at the entrance.
The soil beneath Lynn's feet loosened, and a gigantic monster burst forth from the earth.
Vilvi stared in shock at the monster that crawled out of the ground.
She was already afraid, but she became even more afraid.
The iron earthworm opened its mouth and swallowed the iron lock in one bite, just like eating chocolate.
Iron filings, like tofu dregs, fell to the ground from the corner of its mouth.
The iron bars were pushed open, and a dark staircase led to the basement.
Lynn gripped his staff tightly and communicated with the iron earthworm through the metal ring on his wrist, learning that no one was hiding in the darkness.
Let Iron Earthworm lead the way, then Lynn took Wilvi hostage and went into the basement. Shortly after Lynn disappeared, Lauren, who was acting suspiciously, tiptoed to the door and followed him in, then closed the iron gate behind her.
Drip, drip...
The sound of water dripping onto the floor.
The basement was even damper than Lynn had anticipated.
"Yes...yes..." Iron Earthworm relayed the information to Lynn.
It told Lynn there was something ahead, but due to its limited intelligence, it had difficulty explaining exactly what it was.
As Lynn walked along, he noticed that the rooms on both sides of the corridor looked familiar—very much like the same kind of prison cell as Professor Anglie's.
However, all the cells were empty.
The basement was very deep, with several levels. Lynn estimated that if he went any further down, the water level would probably be lower than the canal next to it.
Is the Viscount's family planning to build an underwater park?
While she was internally complaining, Lynn was actually being even more cautious.
As for Vilvie, she trembled and huddled in Lynn's arms like a quail.
Lynn's arms gripped her throat like an iron clamp, and Wilvi felt suffocated, finding it difficult to breathe.
However, for some reason, Vilvi didn't dislike this situation too much... Even though she should be afraid of this man, she was now filled with curiosity about him instead.
Lynn frowned; the girl in his arms had wrapped her arms around his waist at some point.
This makes it a little inconvenient for him to walk.
Lynn smacked Velvi's bottom hard with his magic wand. "Don't get in my way!"
Lynn reprimanded in a low voice, his warm breath falling on Wilvie's ear.
The girl in his arms became even softer, like a puddle of water.
Lynn frowned even more, pushed the girl away, and then grabbed her by the back of the neck, lifting her like a chick.
If there's any danger later, just throw her out.
"Ahead..." came the feedback from the iron earthworm.
We have reached the end of the corridor.
Ahead was a huge, empty room.
And the faint sound of splashing water could be heard.
Lynn stopped and paused for a moment, and Lauren followed from behind.
"Boss."
Vilvi was startled by the sudden sound behind her.
Lauren arrived at night, as it was inconvenient to enter the port during the day, so she followed the scent at night.
Lynn also brought Lauren along, considering her fighting prowess.
"Boss, can't you see clearly?" Lauren asked.
"Nonsense," Lynn said.
"Boss, the oil lamp." Lauren, draped in a curtain, stretched out a hand from under the curtain, holding an oil lamp.
The hardships of the journey made Lauren's already tattered curtain-like outfit even more worn and battered.
"You can tell me earlier next time." Lynn paused, it was very inconvenient to walk in the dark all the way.
Lauren took another flint lighter from under the curtains and helped Lynn light the oil lamp.
Carrying the oil lamp, Lynn took in his surroundings.
Wilvi stole a glance at Lynn. Lynn's skin was already quite fair, and the three months he spent in the cabin without sunlight made his skin appear even paler. He had thin lips and delicate, handsome features.
Although he wasn't particularly handsome at first glance, he had a unique charm.
Lynn looked around. Several supporting pillars supported the hall, which was only half land and the other half was a turbulent body of water.
Dark, heavy water splashed against the bluestone slabs of the hall. Two extremely long chains ran from the ceiling down into the water.
The chains swayed slightly, as if something had been disturbed.
A clump of dark water plants floated to the surface.
slam-la-
The rusty chains swayed, and a blue hand rested on the stone slab on the shore.
When Vilvi saw this, she screamed and tried to hide behind Lynn.
"I wondered who it was, but it's my dear niece." A blue face emerged from the water, and the clump of water plants on the surface turned into wet hair that clung to his face. As he grinned, he revealed a mouthful of sharp teeth.
Lynn looked at the man, his eyes narrowing slightly, thinking of the water ghost that Big Gold Tooth had mentioned.
It does look somewhat similar.
The water ghost crawled out of the water and stood up. Lynn then realized that the ghost was over two meters tall. Chains were fastened to his ankles.
"My dear niece, you've missed me! Have you finally decided to come see your uncle?"
The water ghost had long, slender arms that almost reached its knees, its head tilted to the side, and its face contorted with madness.
I'm currently queuing for a nucleic acid test (T_T), updates might be a little late.
