Chapter 115 Followers (Part Two)
As Lynn emerged from the service lobby, she asked the brute, "Do you know Toby?"
"I don't know him."
The brute force demon shook his head.
A hint of surprise flashed in Lynn's eyes. He had initially thought that Toby and the Brute knew each other, but now it seemed that he had been wrong.
Or perhaps it's just that Toby was simply acting out of kindness because of the brute force demon's honest and simple nature.
Back at his residence, the beautiful figure sitting on the balcony next door asked curiously, "Is this the demon you adopted? Where did you adopt it from? It looks quite fierce."
Lynn paused, having consciously avoided Ido ever since she learned about her.
Every six years, we forget something; every time we recall something, it's a process of constantly forgetting and remembering.
"It wasn't adopted, it was tamed by itself." Lynn paused, then looked at Ido. Suddenly, an idea popped into his head: what would happen if Ido didn't go to the abyss in the last six years?
If we don't go to the abyss, will we avoid reliving the memory of death?
But after a six-year cycle, what should have happened should still have happened.
"Oh, okay." Ido nodded.
"I'm going to do my experiment now, talk to you next time." Lynn waved to Ido.
Back in the lab, Lynn began her learning journey.
For the next period of time, I immersed myself in the laboratory memorizing knowledge.
Occasionally, I would go out to greet Ido, buy a few magical plants to bring back, and observe their habits while raising them. In my spare time, I would take the opportunity to study the big fleshy ball I brought back.
And at some point, a new profession, Magical Potion, appeared in Lynn's attribute panel under Life Skills.
"Jefferson, I heard you were humiliated by a new wizarding apprentice?"
Good things don't go out, bad things pass thousands of miles.
Jefferson looked at his friend, with whom he had a fairly good relationship, shook his head, and smiled, "Are you here to laugh at me too? A true wizard should be able to adapt to any environment."
"The eyes on your face can only see what ordinary people see; only the eyes in your heart can see what is truly hidden beneath the surface," Jefferson said calmly, showing no displeasure.
"Oh? That Lynn is quite extraordinary?"
"After I got back, I found out that although Lynn had only been here for a short time, he was led in by a formal wizard on his very first day. When he left the service hall, the person in charge there, Toby, even came out to see him off."
"Hmm, is that so? Then it seems he has some connections," James said.
After Jefferson saw his friend off, a glint of light flashed in his eyes. He had only temporarily left; it didn't mean the matter was over.
Given the chance, he wouldn't mind kicking someone when they're down.
"These two potions that Dao gave me are rather crude." Lynn, who had already raised his potion-making skills to level 2, looked at the two potions that Dao had given him and found many flaws and rough parts.
Of course, this doesn't mean that the doctors and researchers were incompetent; it just means that given their limited knowledge, it was already quite remarkable that they were able to formulate such a medicine.
Lynn was able to spot the roughness because he now possessed more knowledge of magical potions and understood the medicinal properties of many magical plants, many of which did not exist in Dao's world.
Lynn picked one up and carefully cut the stem of the Proflower into small pieces. Then he added the Gospel Grass, which had been soaked for three hours, into the Proflower by crushing it into powder. He then extracted all the juice from the thick root of the Waterweed.
When the three plants are mixed, they turn into a transparent, viscous liquid.
Lynn dipped her fingers into the bottle and stirred gently. She picked up a pinch with her fingertips, feeling how smooth it was. Lynn nodded slightly; the moisturizing effect was sufficient.
However, further experiments were needed. Lynn went down to conduct experiments and soon found that the moisturizing effect of the new liquid she had prepared was nearly twice as good as the original formula.
However, Lynn was not satisfied; even if the duration was doubled, it could only last for half a month.
Lynn prepared to continue preparing the medicine.
Lynn also had some ideas about another medicine. Through experiments over this period of time, Lynn discovered that this piece of meat had a strong assimilation ability. Most of the substances used so far were assimilated into a viscous white waxy substance, which was then slowly absorbed by it.
If not controlled by medication, this chunk of meat could theoretically expand indefinitely.
Lynn bought a rabbit to experiment with the one-time consumable potion that Daeo had previously created to resist magic.
After testing, Lynn discovered that zero-ring spells with energy properties were basically ineffective against the rabbit.
At the same time, even sharp objects cannot cause any harm to the rabbit during this period.
However, a blunt weapon can cause effective damage.
Upon examination, Lynn discovered that the rabbit died from internal organ rupture caused by a blunt instrument, resulting in massive bleeding and shock.
This similarity reminded Lynn of something quite familiar—a gargoyle.
Gargoyle series war weapons have strong resistance to magic. They were specially made by wizards who invaded a plane with a very prosperous magical civilization a long time ago to deal with magicians.
Later, the mages of that plane captured the gargoyles during the war, and then spent a great deal of effort breaking the gargoyles, and even more effort creating gargoyles that could only be controlled by them.
Because in the eyes of the magicians in that plane, wizards were also a group of enemies who used magic. Gargoyles could deal with them, and they could also become a powerful weapon against wizards. This is why they spent a lot of effort to reverse-engineer gargoyles.
At first, gargoyles did cause considerable trouble for the wizards, which excited the magicians of that plane, leading them to use massive resources to create more gargoyles.
However, when the second batch of gargoyles failed to achieve the expected results on the battlefield, the wizards unleashed a spell that directly knocked the gargoyles off their pedestal—the Spirit Breaker.
This spell, specifically developed to target alchemical creatures like gargoyles—which possess strong defenses but weak souls—can directly annihilate their intelligence, leaving only their husks.
This battle not only destroyed countless efforts of the mages in this plane, but also allowed the wizards to seize a massive number of gargoyles, completely turning the mages of this plane into the wizards' laborers.
Lynn pondered, not about the spirit-breaking spell or the gargoyles, as the nature of gargoyles and the properties of this magical potion were fundamentally different.
But Lynn thought about it from another angle, based on the method of making gargoyles.
If this skin-applied medication will transform the organism into wax after its duration ends, is it possible that there is a substance that can counteract this wax?
If one can resist this wax, and then create it using alchemical puppetry, wouldn't it become a new type of creation that is invincible on the battlefield?
This indirectly made the drug permanent.
