Chapter 114 Followers (Part 1)

On the other side, the brute force demon, who was on his way home, suddenly reached out his right hand and grabbed a thin, gray arm that was reaching out from the side.

"Hmm?" The brute force demon bent down and stared intently at the little devil beside him who wanted to steal his magic stone.

Although it may be a bit slow in life and sometimes unwilling to think, which may make it seem somewhat dull.

But this doesn't mean that its reaction in battle is the same as in life.

The little devil caught its attention when it sneaked close and stretched out its hand, but it couldn't be bothered to pay it any attention.

"What are you doing?" The brute force demon stared intently at the little devil, his blood-red eyes filled with brutality.

Instead of escaping after being caught, the little devil struggled fiercely.

"Let me go! I didn't do anything, what are you trying to do? No fighting is allowed in Demon City," the little devil said arrogantly.

The Brute Demon remained silent for a moment; it was indeed not advisable to act rashly in the Demon City.

He loosened his grip, releasing the little devil from his hand.

No sooner had the hand been released than the little devil transformed into a blur, darting past the brute's waist pocket and hooking with its claws.

He simply snatched the bag hanging from the brute's waist.

The brute force demon was stunned for a moment. It touched its waist and realized that its most important thing had been stolen. Its already red eyes instantly turned bloodshot.

With an angry roar, the little devil turned around hastily, only to see a figure crashing down like a mountain, the shadow growing ever larger.

"What's wrong?" Lynn rushed to the service hall after receiving Toby's message.

Toby stood not far from the entrance to the service hall and waved from afar.

Lynn walked over, and Toby said to her, "The Brute Force Demon has gotten into some trouble."

"It's currently inside confronting another wizard apprentice, who is also an apprentice at the Demon Wizard Academy. I can't really take sides," Toby said helplessly.

Lynn smiled. Toby's claim of favoring one side was probably just empty talk.

Because if Toby really couldn't show favoritism to anyone, he wouldn't have sent someone to inform me.

"Did brute force cause trouble?" Lynn asked.

"A little trouble. The brute killed a lesser demon. The lesser demon was a follower of another wizard's apprentice, and since the brute killed it, the apprentice is demanding compensation from the brute. Either become his follower or pay him five hundred magic stones," Toby told Lynn.

After finding out the details of how the brute force demon killed the lesser demon, Lynn frowned; he didn't want to spend a single magic stone.

The sequence of events clearly shows that the little devil stole the things first, and the brute force demon even let it go the first time.

Judging from this attitude, this little devil is clearly a habitual offender who specializes in bullying those weak and powerless demons.

It's likely that the little devil saw that the brute force demon was a bit simple-minded, so it boldly attacked.

But even a minor demon isn't worth five hundred magic stones. A minor demon is a low-ranking demon from the abyss, only slightly better than a lesser demon. A minor demon possesses a pair of small demon wings, allowing it to fly, and has a strong learning ability; if its aptitude is high enough, it can even awaken some magical abilities relatively rare among demons. However, none of this can compensate for the minor demon's weak physique and utterly useless talent.

A little devil is worth at most a few dozen magic stones on the market.

Even dozens of magic stones would be too much. You should know that the Iron Serpent No. 1 made by Lynn can be bought for only a few magic stones. The combat power of the un-advanced little devil is probably only about equal to that of the Iron Serpent No. 1.

"Is there any other way?" Lynn asked, knowing that Toby must have a plan to send him.

“Yes, there is another way: make the brute a follower of yours. That would create a conflict between two followers,” Toby said. “Of course, the price is that you might incur the wrath of a wizard apprentice.”

Lynn and Toby exchanged a thoughtful glance. After a moment, Lynn smiled and said, "Uncle Toby, the Brute Force Demon was originally my follower. We have formed a deep friendship in the Abyss, but I haven't had time to report to you because I've been busy."

Toby's flushed cheeks revealed a devilish smile. "What do you mean you didn't report it? You already reported it to me, it's just that we haven't had time to complete the formalities yet."

"Either obediently take the magic stone, or become my follower. Don't worry, I only need you to sign a fifty-year contract with me, and I will set you free after fifty years. If..." "Excuse me, how did my follower offend you?" A sudden voice interrupted the conversation in the room.

"Where did you come from?" Jeffrey narrowed his eyes and looked Lynn up and down. Jeffrey knew almost all the apprentices in Demon City who he couldn't afford to offend, and Lynn was definitely not a stranger among them.

Moreover, judging from Lynn's clothes and jewelry, he doesn't seem to be a wizard apprentice from a prominent family.

Jeffrey felt a surge of confidence and immediately threatened Lynn, who had suddenly walked in, "I've had my eye on this brute force demon for a while now. Get out of there where you came from, or don't try to be a hero if you don't want to die."

Lynn slowly walked towards Jeffrey.

Jeffrey narrowed his eyes, looking at Lynn with even more provocation. "What, you want to make a move?"

Lynn was half a head taller than Jeffrey. He leaned down, looking down at Jeffrey, and then raised his right hand.

Looking at Lynn's right hand, Jeffrey felt a surge of joy. Yes, make a move! It's best to make a move now!

The service hall forbids residents of Demon City from engaging in conflict, and those who violate this rule will be severely punished. He could almost see Lynn being punished.

*Smack! Smack! Smack!*

Lynn gently patted Jeffrey's face with her palm.

Although it wasn't heavy, it was very loud. The sound was piercing, and Jeffrey's face turned ashen, his heart burning with rage.

"He's already made a move, aren't you going to do anything about it?" Jeffrey questioned the staff member next to him.

Most of the staff knew Lynn. Lynn and Lord Toby were very familiar with each other, and Lynn didn't hit hard; he just patted her face.

Upon hearing Jeffrey's words, the staff all looked up at the ceiling, as if there was something interesting on it.

Jeffrey wasn't stupid; seeing the staff's reaction, he immediately knew he'd messed up.

This guy definitely has connections!

Jeffrey immediately changed his attitude, quickly putting on a kind smile. "My little devil is always disobedient, always running off to cause trouble. I've told him many times, but it's no use. He deserved to be beaten to death by your followers this time. Oh dear, he really deserved it."

As he spoke, Jeffrey hunched over, slapped his own face, and then walked back out with a laugh.

"Thank you." The brute force demon looked at Lynn, knowing that Lynn had helped it again.

"Friends?" The brute pointed at Lynn, then at himself.

"Friend," Lynn nodded.

A bright smile immediately appeared on the brute demon's face.

It didn't care at all about Lynn saying it was his follower. "Can you feed me?" the brute asked a simple question.

"Sure, of course no problem." Lynn laughed without giving it much thought.

How much can a single brute force demon eat? And even if it can eat a lot, can it possibly eat more than all of its hundreds of goblins combined?

The two then completed the remaining procedures in the service hall.

If the demon was purchased elsewhere, this procedure would not be required. However, since the Brute Demon has resided in the Demon City for a certain period of time and has a residence permit, the relevant procedures are required.

It was only after completing the formalities that Lynn learned that the Brute Demon was actually a fourth-tier demon. However, he wasn't too surprised. He already knew that the Brute Demon was stronger than other ordinary demons, because a normal Brute Demon should be at the third tier when it evolves into an adult. It was normal for this Brute Demon to have broken through the racial limit and reached the fourth tier.

Although demons also have ranks from 1 to 12, a demon at rank 4 is completely different from a demon at rank 4 of an ordinary race, and its combat power is far superior to that of an ordinary race.

His followers, even the strongest among them, the Red-Eyed, had not yet broken through to the second tier; they were simply slightly stronger in combat than the other first-tier goblin wanderers.
