Chapter 108 Iron-Blooded Queen
Chapter 108 The Iron-Blooded Queen (Part 1)
The man and the two demons walked a short distance before they collided head-on with a group of horsemen.
The horses neighed in terror as they saw the brute demon queen, tall and almost as tall as the trees on either side of the road, blocking their path. The horses stamped their hooves in fear.
The man at the head, dressed in fine clothes, immediately tried to flee.
The fly demon let out a low laugh, stretched out its arm, and suddenly a large number of black flies flew out of its body. The flies pierced through the temples and burrowed into the bones, causing the people who were still running away to stop in their tracks.
The expression on his face gradually changed from fear to blankness.
Soon, the group of people all obediently came to him.
Lynn narrowed his eyes; the Fly Demon's method was truly bizarre.
The fly demon held one of the people's heads in its hands and slowly spat out a white needle from its mouth, piercing the scalp.
The yellowish-white brain matter was sucked into the mouth like tofu pudding through the syringe.
The fly demon shook its head and opened its mouth to communicate with the group of people.
They were able to communicate completely without any barriers. Lynn, who couldn't understand what these people were saying, could only stare blankly and observe their expressions.
The Fly Demon relayed the knowledge it had inquired about to Lynn, and after a brief inquiry, Lynn learned that the leader of this group was actually the son of a noble viscount.
However, this nobleman now only has this much property left. His original city was attacked and fell by the rebels. He fought his way out of the encirclement with some of his family's elite troops and wanted to go to the kingdom's capital, Bailudu.
The kingdom's largest library is located in Bailudu, a destination that is exactly the same as Lynn and his group's destination.
"Let's go take a look first. I don't think the royal library might have what we're looking for," Lynn said.
After all, this time, in addition to demons, there were also many wizards who came in. Demons don't care about knowledge, but wizards might.
However, their location isn't too far from the Royal Library, so we can go check it out first.
"Even without knowledge, there are still ways to overcome them," the Fly Demon said confidently.
"There must be many mineral deposits in a world. The mineral deposits discovered by these natives only account for a portion of them. There are also some that have not been discovered in the wild. When the time comes, I can summon a metal-eating demon. Metal-eating demons have a very keen sense of metal and can detect metal as long as it is within a certain distance."
Lynn nodded thoughtfully, silently taking notes of the Fly Demon's experience to prepare for the next time.
When I get back, I can see if there are any alchemical creatures or other species similar to the Gold-Eating Demon that I can raise a couple of.
If you don't have any of those, raising some Gold-Eating Demons yourself is also an option.
"Let's just go and rob it," said the Brute Demon.
"Many powerful demons have come this time; we might not be able to snatch it," the Fly Demon shook his head.
If it were anywhere else, it wouldn't be a problem, but this time the market has attracted quite a few formidable individuals.
To put it simply, being able to invade other dimensions and trade a lot of resources is something ordinary demons can't do.
"I'm afraid it's not just demons," Lynn said quietly.
Not only demons, but even formal wizards have come.
It would be difficult to seize it head-on.
This time, I probably won't get the big prize from the invasion of the other dimension, and I'm worried about getting even the scraps, but I'll be happy to have some soup.
It was an unexpected surprise from the start.
"You don't know any language-comprehension spells?" the Fly Demon asked Lynn.
Lynn shook her head silently.
Language literacy is a second-circle spell for wizards, allowing them to quickly learn a language by reading another person's memories. However, second-circle spells are not something he can currently master.
It would be much easier if one could learn general language knowledge, but it is said that even if one learns a language through general language knowledge, one can only understand and communicate with it, but still cannot write it.
"It's troublesome if you don't understand the language. You can't communicate with these humans even when they're lying to you, but I do have a solution."
The fly demon grabbed one of the humans by the head and ripped it open.
The steaming brain matter inside was exposed, and the blood vessels on it were still pulsating slightly.
The fly demon used both hands to cast spells on the brain, which was continuously compressed and squeezed until it finally turned into a white bead that looked like a bone.
"After consuming it, you will learn the language of this race for a short time, but you will forget it after a while," the Fly Demon said. "But it will be enough for temporary use."
Lynn licked his slightly chapped lips and took the white bead.
"You're not afraid to eat it, are you? Or do you suspect I poisoned it?" the fly demon chuckled.
"This isn't poisonous; it's a natural talent of the Fly Demon race," said the Brute Demon standing behind them.
"I'm just thinking about how I should eat it." Lynn played with the beads in her hand.
Not knowing the language of this plane is indeed a troublesome thing.
At that point, he would have to rely entirely on the Fly Demon to relay messages. His relationship with the Fly Demon was very distant; it wasn't his servant and had no obligation to relay messages. If the Fly Demon left later, he, being unable to understand the language, would be completely helpless.
Moreover, the Abyss operates on a cruel jungle law, where the strong prey on the weak. Lynn felt that if he couldn't demonstrate corresponding value, the Fly Demons wouldn't stay with him indefinitely.
Although it was disgusting, Lynn still put the bead in her mouth and swallowed it whole without chewing.
His stomach felt warm, as if a seed was taking root and sprouting. As the seed sprouted, Lynn's senses cleared, and he could understand the language that was originally difficult to understand.
"Don't kill me."
"Help! We're willing to surrender, please don't kill us!"
"Are you a noble viscount?" Lynn lifted the pointed ear, clearly indicating that he was a nobleman of half-elf blood.
"No. I only have a noble status; my father is the viscount," the man who was mentioned said in a terrified voice.
"That's a real shame. You're all grown up and your father still hasn't passed the position to you," Lynn said calmly.
Whether you can survive depends on the value of what you can offer.
"I'll tell you everything, everything you want to know," the half-elf man quickly said.
Lynn began asking the nobleman various questions.
Through his explanation, Lynn quickly grasped the general relationships within the Silvermoon Kingdom.
He didn't know much about other kingdoms, but he knew very well about news within his own country.
Because their viscount family lives within the Silvermoon Kingdom, and the current situation in the kingdom is turbulent, affecting their family's interests, they must be very aware of the kingdom's internal dynamics.
Since the previous king of the Silvermoon Kingdom passed away twenty years ago, three princes have fought each other for the throne. At that time, many nobles secretly chose one prince to support.
In the end, no one expected that at the critical moment when the three princes were fighting each other and their strength was greatly reduced, the eldest princess, who had always been favored by the old king, suddenly emerged and seized the throne with her ruthlessness and decisiveness, becoming the first queen of the Silver Moon Kingdom.
The eldest princess was praised by the old king for resembling him when she was young. After ascending the throne, the Silver Moon Queen made good use of doctors, biologists, researchers, and soldiers.
With her tough approach, she won over many middle-level officials in the Silvermoon Kingdom. She also used her mother's status as the daughter of the Duke to bring many nobles in the North to her faction. She vigorously developed the economy and the military, which led to the rapid expansion of the Silvermoon Kingdom's national power, making it the leader of several surrounding kingdoms.
It is said that the Iron Queen had tried to propose war on several occasions, but the Elven Court suppressed her every time. Even so, she earned the title of Iron Queen in many kingdoms.
The various rebel armies that are now rising up are said to be the nobles who once served under the three princes.
However, they were only using the banner of the three princes, because after the Iron Queen ascended the throne, all three princes died due to various accidents. It couldn't be that their souls, who had been dead for many years, suddenly appeared and organized a rebellion.
"I like ambitious, ruthless women like this. If this were a plane without demons, I might be able to seduce her into starting a full-scale war. If she could conquer most of the land, I might even have a chance to hold a ritual to plunge her into the abyss," the Fly Demon cackled. "But it's a pity now."
Lynn knew what the Fly Demon regretted; this plane had already fallen into the abyss, so the greatest benefits naturally wouldn't fall to it.
Logically speaking, even if these nobles rebelled, they shouldn't have caused much trouble. However, it is said that there are mysterious forces behind the three rebel armies, and they have been advancing rapidly, conquering many cities.
However, according to the nobles, the powerful legion stationed in the north of the kingdom was also struck by a plague and was overwhelmed with its own problems.
"With so many rebels, we can cooperate with this queen and have her provide us with knowledge and flesh, while we fight those rebels for her," the Fly Demon said.
Lynn thought about it more deeply. What kind of mysterious force could be behind these rebels in a plane that has been ruled by an elven royal court for so many years?
This mysterious force is most likely related to the forces that led them to the abyss. Lynn figured there probably wouldn't be any conflict with those rebels.
We'll probably know once we see those rebels.
"Let's get going," Lynn said.
"Walking there like this is too slow. I'll summon a mount," the Fly Demon said.
The Fly Demon turned around and used its fingers to slit the necks of everyone except the nobles, using the corpses and blood to outline a seemingly simple array on the ground.
The fly demon stood at the edge of the formation, its body emitting a faint black mist.
Under the influence of the black mist, the teleportation array gradually emitted a faint glow.
The corpse on the ground quickly shriveled up, all the essence of flesh and blood being devoured.
The next moment, the dried blood smeared on the ground suddenly turned a glaring crimson.
The crimson light illuminated Lynn's cheeks.
Within the summoning circle, a colossal monster, enormous in size, resembling a pterosaur with a long, spiked tail and two sharp horns, appeared.
Demons, these people are absolutely demons.
The nobleman who witnessed this scene showed fear in his eyes.
He had never seen such a hideous monster before. Apart from the man who interrogated him, the other creature, which looked like a big-headed fly, and the giant monster all resembled the demons of legend.
Lynn, who could chat and laugh with such a demon, also became a demon disguised in human skin in his eyes.
Upon seeing the fly demon, the summoned monster affectionately extended its long, thin tongue to lick the fly demon's feet.
"This is my monstrous winged bird," the Fly Demon said. "Riding it is faster than walking."
The Fly Demon climbed onto the back of the evil-winged bird. When it was Lynn's turn, the evil-winged bird suddenly turned its head and let out a sharp cry.
bang~
Suddenly, the brute behind Lynn slapped the Evil Winged Bird across the face.
It completely stunned the Evil Winged Bird.
The strange bird stared blankly ahead, but after being given a severe beating, it seemed to become much more alert in an instant.
She stuck out her long, thin tongue and gently licked Lynn's boot. Her eyes were full of flattery.
