Chapter 8 Good Citizens Who Abide by Laws

Chapter 8 Good Citizens Who Abide by Laws

On Ang's retinal screen, the light flickered.

Wonder Woman didn't say it, but the system thoughtfully marked a profit curve for him. It was very clear that the later he acted and the weaker the villainous boss he killed, the lower his profit would be.

This wasn't Diana deliberately making things difficult for Ang; rather, she had traveled across time to Gotham to seek help. Saving lives was urgent, and if she was too late, she feared there wouldn't be any trace left on that side.

Ang instinctively felt that the time and space over there were not symmetrical with this one. She stayed here for a year or two, but over there it was still the same point in time.

Unfortunately, having accomplished nothing, he had no influence whatsoever.

Ang rushed to the underground gym, leaving his bodyguards outside, and started training like crazy.

"Bang bang bang!"

The sound of punches, as dense as rain, echoed through the empty gym.

"As expected! Powerful strength can be addictive!" Ang muttered to himself.

Despite his nightly revelry, he was still young and hadn't been completely ruined by alcohol and women. If he had taken over a few years later, he would have looked like a programmer with eight years of experience.

If Louis and his companions were watching right now, they would be so surprised they could fit a whole apple in their mouths.

fast!

too fast.

Agility of 22 points is more than twice that of an average person.

Ang circled the sandbag as nimbly as a butterfly flitting among flowers, launching a rapid and intense barrage of attacks. The sound was nothing like boxing; it was more like an automatic rifle firing.

His movements were so fast that not only his arms, but even his figure left behind fleeting afterimages.

Previously, there would have been ridiculous situations where his eyes couldn't keep up with his movements.

The enhancements Wonder Woman provided him were comprehensive. The improved perception made his previous movements appear as if in slow motion, but the rapid flashes of light and shadow brought by his 22 points of agility were just right.

He had taken countless heavy punches, but the sandbag, which he considered quite sturdy, suddenly burst open with a "bang".

Ang walked over to the next room, which was a shooting range, still wanting more.

This time, he didn't test guns and cannons, but went straight to the composite bow hanging on the wall.

"Thump! Thump! Thump!"

Within fifty meters, every arrow hit the bullseye. The system's aiming assistance function provided him with a complete simulated trajectory depending on the force applied to the bow and the aiming conditions.

The only problem is that with single-arrow rapid shooting, accuracy is relatively reliable. But when you use four fingers to nock three arrows and perform triple shots, it becomes really difficult to control.

Even the slightest difference in the force applied, or the slightest variation in the placement of each arrow, can result in the arrow missing its target the moment it's released.

"Phew!" Ang exhaled a breath of stale air, knowing that this matter couldn't be rushed.

It seems that Triple Shot will not be an option for him in the short term.

It took him more than an hour to finish all this, and Ang was hungry.

When he asked the servants to prepare a midnight snack, Ang discovered that he ate three times more than before.

"As expected, this is the price."

He ate more, and his physical strength recovered faster than before. He realized that his body was originally a bit weak, and even with Wonder Woman's power boost, his physical constitution was still his weakness.

Of course, he's already a tiny bit better than the average person.

Ang's eyes flashed with a sharp light; he had made a decision—to kill! Tonight!

Is that crazy?

He himself thought the idea was crazy.

Not to mention the enemy, even he himself couldn't have imagined it.

Life is unpredictable! Fate won't wait for you to be fully prepared before placing a so-called 100% successful opportunity in front of you.

[Black Mask] sent Black Canary to assassinate Ang. If there are no traitors around Ang, Black Mask will probably not receive news of her failure until at least tomorrow morning.

This is a perfect time difference.

Moreover, in the eyes of outsiders, he was just a coward who escaped with the help of bodyguards, was being chased and had to hide in his shell. Where would he get the strength to fight back?

This inherent asymmetry will not be improved until external forces intervene.

However, Ang needs to buy insurance before making a move.

A short while later, he appeared in front of the cell door.

"How is she?"

"It's very quiet," Louis replied. "If you hadn't seen it with your own eyes, who would believe this pretty woman is an assassin?"

"I'll go in alone."

"Boss!" Louis suddenly raised his voice.

"You can watch it through the surveillance cameras, but you're not allowed to record it." Ang took a step back.

"Fine! You decide." Louis said helplessly.

Opening the 5cm thick steel door, Ang saw the black canary. For a moment, he wondered if he was seeing things and that he was seeing a [Chrysalis].

The beautiful Miss Lance was in a rather unfortunate state. She was tightly bound from head to toe in a straitjacket designed for mental patients, leaving her with absolutely no room or space to exert any force. Only her radiant blonde hair and half of her fair face were exposed. To prevent any possible ultrasonic attacks from her, her bodyguards thoughtfully fitted her with a gag.

Ang had given orders not to mistreat her, but that didn't mean she would get any pleasure from him.

On a cold, hard wooden bed, she was like a wriggling silkworm.

Ang burst in and immediately said, "You failed your mission, and you don't want anything to happen to your sister, Sarah Lance, do you?"

The black canary's face instantly lost all color.

Ang didn't know what was going on in this chaotic world. Anyway, the White Canary from history was still an ordinary person. Ang could easily find out that she was the Black Canary Dina's biggest weakness.

To the black canary, Ang's voice was nothing short of demonic: "Among Black Mask's subordinates, there will always be an assistant known as 'No.1.' If he displeases Black Mask, he can be replaced at any time. As for how he'll be replaced, you should know..."

As cannon fodder under Black Mask, at least two No. 1s have been killed by Black Canary.

He was mauled to death by several starving hunting dogs.

The other was trailing behind an off-road vehicle speeding across the wasteland. Diana would never forget how that bright red line of blood ran across her entire field of vision.

As Ang spoke, her whole body began to tremble uncontrollably.

When the time was right, Ang reached behind the black canary's head and freed her mouth.

"What do you want me to do?"

"So Black Mask has a group of henchmen lurking on the surface of the sea, right?"

The black canary nodded, trembling.

"And he himself is still in the Black Mask Club?"

Her voice trembled: "If nothing unexpected happens, he'll stay in his hideout when he starts any operation. Every window in his second-floor office is fireproof against AK rifles."

Ang smiled and opened a laptop: "These are the architectural plans for the Black Mask Bar that I found. Take a look and see if there are any oversights."

She answered them one by one.

"Thank you very much for your cooperation, Miss Lance."

"Wait! You...you'll let my sister go, right?" Her beautiful eyes were full of pleading.

"Oh? Your request doesn't include yourself?" Ang asked curiously.

Black Canary pursed her lips: "Not everyone can live as carefree as you. In Gotham City's slums, just bearing the 'cost of living' is incredibly difficult! I chose to do dirty work for Black Mask, and I was mentally prepared to pay the price!"

After saying that, she lowered her head, letting her brilliant golden hair cover her sad and desperate face.

At this moment, Ang gently lifted her pointed chin, a playful glint in his eyes: "If I asked you to hold on to hope and live, would you still give up on life?"

A complex look appeared in the black canary's eyes—a look of ecstatic joy, a shift from despair to redemption, from abyss to heaven. She trembled uncontrollably: "I...can I really do it?"

"Very well, now that you've made your choice, please put on a show for me." Ang's smile grew even more mysterious.

Wonder Woman's mission has clear good/evil criteria. Black Canary's nature is not evil, just like in the 'history,' so Ang naturally has no reason to harm her.

Two minutes later, Louis and the others watched as Ang carried the pupa to his room like a sack of potatoes.

Without anyone noticing, Ang opened a secret escape route in the room.

Miss Lance, the Chrysalis, was stunned: "You...you'll kill Black Mask, won't you?"

Ang laughed: "I'm a law-abiding citizen with no power whatsoever. What does the Joker's gang taking down Black Mask have to do with me?"
