Godslayer in the Marvel Universe
Chapter 347 An Unexpected Helper
Chapter 347 An Unexpected Helper
"Merge?" Batman's voice was almost a whisper.
That word is used quite cleverly.
If something doesn't exist in the other world, merging is no problem. But what if it exists in both worlds?
This is getting a bit bad!
"What exists in both parallel universes?" the Flash suddenly asked.
"President?" Spider-Man replied instantly.
Tony frowned: "Let's all think about this, is Ellis the president we all know?"
"Yes." Everyone answered almost in unison.
"That's not a big problem. What's the next issue we should discuss?" After Dr. Banner spoke, the heroes began to discuss it enthusiastically.
After nearly half an hour of heated discussion, everyone felt that it seemed... well... there really wasn't a big problem!
Doctor Strange made the definitive statement: "It may sound a bit arrogant, but I'm certain that the core of both worlds is Earth. So theoretically, Earth will be the fastest to merge the worlds. I personally think Earth's merger is at least 90% complete."
"Where did the problem lie?" Tony's question plunged everyone into silence.
Human vision is limited.
How could a group of Earth heroes possibly have a full understanding of the changes happening throughout the entire universe?
Just when they were at a loss, an unexpected turn of events occurred on Darkseid's Apokolips fleet.
"Fire! Fire! All gun emplacements!"
On the flagship of the vanguard of the Apokolips fleet, an alien who looked very much like a lion-man shouted in a gruff voice.
He is Calibak, Darkseid's eldest son and Darkseid's second strongest warrior, whose fighting power is almost comparable to Superman's. However, Darkseid does not like him and even forbids him from calling himself "father".
Typical working-class mentality!
At this moment, Kalibak's face was filled with annoyance: "Where did these damn enemies come from? What is Thanos good for?"
The force that intercepted the Apokolips fleet was none other than the Nova Corps!
The Nova Corps is a renowned cosmic defense force. When Star-Lord first obtained the Power Stone, he entrusted it to the Nova Corps for safekeeping on Xandar, where the Nova Corps was stationed.
However, according to the intelligence Darkseid's side obtained, Thanos should have learned of this news, massacred Xandar, and stolen the Power Stone, which is the first stone on the Infinity Gauntlet!
Whether it's corroboration from bystanders or firsthand intelligence from Earth, the Nova Corps should have at least severely damaged Thanos, if not wiped out entirely.
Where did this massive fleet of new stars come from?
Kalibak's shouting did nothing to change the situation, and the continuous flashes of light from the warship's main guns on the optical screen easily turned his face white.
The enemy fleet launched relentless attacks, unleashing a barrage of neutron beam cannons.
The emitted energy expanded, and the resulting light intensely stimulated Kalibak's retina.
Sparks were flying from every corner of the vanguard warships of the Apokolips fleet.
The violent energy jets pierced through the ship's shields and crashed into the hull at high speed, causing explosions everywhere. The flames from the exploding energy reactors rose and fell throughout the vanguard fleet.
Kalibak can ignore the loss of Parademons, since they are free and purely cannon fodder, but building warships is not easy.
The surging energy currents stirred up raging waves, shaking the ships of both armies.
The Nova Corps' ships are relatively small. These spaceships, which look like origami cranes folded by Earthlings, nimbly weave through the gaps in the torn beams of light, like seraphim with multiple pairs of golden wings, constantly creating destruction.
The Nova Corps' attack alone is not enough to shake Apokolips' fleet. Putting aside everything else, the Nova Corps is no match in terms of numbers; it is merely a fraction of Darkseid's fleet.
Even after close combat, with all 500 or so superhumans of the Nova Corps mobilized, it still felt like a drop in the ocean.
What truly hindered Darkseid's fleet was the annihilation swarm from the Negative Space.
If Ang were here, he would know that these terrifying insects come from the classic Marvel event "Annihilation"!
In this incident, the Nova Corps was caught off guard by the threat of the Zerg Swarm. Unable to withstand the attack, they were gradually wiped out by the Annihilation Zerg, leaving only a few scattered survivors.
Who knew that this life would be such a cruel joke of fate? First of all, the Nova Corps mobilized all its main forces after receiving news of the Annihilation Swarm.
When they were unexpectedly caught in a spatial turbulence, their home planet Xandar was raided by Thanos.
Then, they entered a six-month-long space drift. Not only did they inexplicably encounter Darkseid's Apocalypse Fleet, but at this crucial moment, as if by fate, they also encountered the Annihilation Swarm.
However, the Nova Corps attacked the vanguard of the Apocalypse Fleet, while the Annihilation Swarm attacked the rear of the Apocalypse Fleet.
This made Darkseid a little uncomfortable.
The vanguard fleet alone was not enough to destroy the Nova Legion, and the main force behind them had to fight to the death against the swarm of insects that suddenly appeared in the void.
Although they are called a swarm of insects, a significant portion of these insects are actually mechanical life forms.
These worms, resembling caterpillars, have shells made of metal harder than titanium. Yet, being living creatures, they are just as agile as the Chitauri's flying motorcycles.
The giant bugs are the size of a space battleship, while the smaller ones are about the size of a car.
Many Parademons were ambushed by the Zerg swarm the instant they left the mothership. Some were swallowed whole, while many more were pulverized by the beams of light spewed from the Zerg's mouths!
An hour into the battle, Darkseid's entire rear guard was almost completely wiped out by the annihilation swarm's fierce attack!
Some were destroyed in the explosion and could no longer continue fighting; others suffered minor damage, but the Parademons who served as their pilots died, leaving them to drift aimlessly in the void.
Countless insects continued to burst forth from the cracks in the dark space.
Even though Darkseid didn't care about the deaths of the Parademons, he couldn't deny that the situation was extremely dire.
If his subordinates were not Parademons with almost no independent consciousness, but other intelligent races from the universe, the battle losses alone would generally mean the collapse of the front line on the verge of death!
Darkseid, having reached his limit, finally took action himself.
His enormous body slowly flew out of the cabin and directly into space.
A crimson light suddenly burst forth in his sharp eyes.
The two red rays didn't seem particularly remarkable at first, since the beams fired from any small airship would be much thicker.
Soon, the Annihilation Swarm realized something was wrong.
Because the space passage through which they invade this universe is rapidly shrinking.
"Squeak, squeak..." The mental communication loops between the swarms were filled with anxious calls.
