Godslayer in the Marvel Universe

Chapter 12 I Am the Man You Can't Have

Chapter 12 I Am the Man You Can't Have

That morning, Ang dismissed most of the security personnel.

It was just a temporary daily rental agreement anyway. The money was in my account, so there wasn't much to say.

However, the bodyguards who continued to provide security for Louis looked at Ang with strange eyes.

Isn't that a coincidence?

The spy girl who came to cause trouble last night was whining all night, clearly having been seduced by Ang, and then Black Mask's side was wiped out?

All doubts can only be kept to oneself.

Whether Batman happened to catch the Black Mask squad gathering on the beach, or the Joker gang blew up the Black Mask's lair and killed Black Mask himself, these were not things that his few bodyguards could handle.

All I can say is—

Whether justice is delayed or not is unknown, but justice always stands on the side of the victors.

Ang acted as if nothing had happened, continuing to play the role of a playboy as always.

His new favorite was, without a doubt, the mysterious Miss Diana Prince.

Just as her character suggests, Wonder Woman is very resistant to cumbersome clothes. After getting up in the morning, she finally chose a very neutral gray women's suit.

A grey round hat, a crisp white fitted shirt, a belt that perfectly accentuated her athletic figure, and well-fitting trousers that perfectly met her requirements for "convenience in battle" while seamlessly blending into modern society.

Looking at the spirited Diana, Ang's fatigue from cultivating immortality last night vanished completely.

You look really beautiful dressed like this.

"Thank you." Diana accepted Ang's praise gracefully, then got straight to the point: "Well done last night."

"You can sense it?" Ang asked in a low voice.

"Of course, that evil and depraved soul makes me want to vomit."

Ang bowed slightly, his meaning unspoken.

"Thank you for your support. Besides understanding the things about this world, I'm even more eager to know as soon as possible what can help me?"

Ang looked a bit sour.

Dude! You're the infamous V, oops, I mean GodKiller, so who do you need to help you fight Ares? Isn't this something you can handle yourself?

Ang couldn't bring himself to say this. He wasn't sure if the knowledge in his memory could perfectly match this chaotic, merged world.

Actually, when it comes to collecting information on all the heroes, Batman is definitely the most comprehensive. Batman keeps a detailed record of every hero's characteristics and weaknesses in his notebook; otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to pull off such an incredible feat as challenging Superman with his 'mortal body'.

Although Ang didn't have a database, that didn't stop him from using his computer's web search engine to find news articles and showing them to Wonder Woman one by one.

"This world has many beings beyond ordinary humans. There are evil ones, and there are relatively neutral or righteous superheroes. I'm not entirely sure just how powerful Ares, the god of war in your world, really is."

"At least, he should be much stronger than me." Wonder Woman frowned her beautiful eyebrows. "In fact, no one on Paradise Island has ever seen Ares as he is now. My mother sent me here, and I agree with her judgment."

"Before we go, could you demonstrate your abilities?"

"Can!"

The two arrived at the underground training ground, where the female warrior changed back into her Amazon-style leather armor paired with brass armor combat suit.

Ang didn't bring any weapons. This wasn't an act; he genuinely didn't know what equipment he had to fight the rich woman in front of him.

I won't go into the details of the Lasso of Truth.

Her Guardian Bracelet was made from scraps of Zeus's sheepskin shield. It can automatically attract fire and generate a force field shield that can withstand Superman's heat rays.

and then?

In her right hand she held the sword of Hephaestus, the god of fire; in her left hand she carried a divine shield made of a mysterious Amazonian alloy; and on her head she wore the Starlight Crown, a symbol of her royal status that could be used as a boomerang.

This is just what she's taking out now.

And that doesn't even include the outrageous things she might acquire in history, like the Golden Eagle Armor or the Hermes Shoes.

The only thing Ang could offer was that black mask that affected the city's appearance.

Rather than displeasing her, it's better to adjust one's mindset and witness what's to come as a mortal.

Seeing Ang, ten meters away, strike a simple boxing move, Diana wasn't annoyed. She slightly bent her knees, and the next moment, dust suddenly shot out from the floor where she had been standing.

Until the next instant, that elegant and slender figure traversed a distance exceeding the size of a classroom and slammed that magnificent round shield down upon her.

That's ridiculously fast!

So fast it's like teleportation!

The blow was completely beyond Ang's dynamic vision limit. Wonder Woman only stopped moving when the shield was just five centimeters away from hitting his head.

The shield, almost covering his face, brought Ang the most direct and terrifying sense of oppression!

But just as she stopped her movements as if she had pressed the "pause" button, the loud thud of her stomping the floor before her attack finally reached Ang's ears.

Ang's trembling eyes were filled with shock.

What made him even more dumbfounded was that even though he opened the system in advance and let it assess Wonder Woman's combat power, the final result was a series of question marks.

The system's response to the question in my mind was: "[The target's base attributes are more than ten times that of the host, therefore a question mark replaces the evaluation result.]"

Ang tested it again and found that, as expected, the system, which operated based on his physical condition, could not input information that was far beyond his perception capabilities.

"Phew—" Ang let out a big breath of stale air.

"Were you startled? If so, I apologize."

"No, I was just a little shocked by Amazon."

The scenes in the movie before the time travel are completely unreliable. Apart from the actors looking exactly like the superheroes of this world, they have no reference value in terms of strength.

The female knight smiled.

Back in the living room, Ang turned on his computer and showed Wonder Woman some of the target individuals.

He knew very well that Wonder Woman was not someone he could control or manipulate. She was extremely intelligent, and if she realized that he was stalling for time or trying to squeeze more out of her, it would only ruin their relationship.

Rather than doing that, it's better to let go.

"If you run into these kinds of people, you'll probably get along well with them. But the only ones who might actually be able to help you are these two." The computer screen was projected onto the home theater's projection screen.

What is displayed are two towering figures.

"They are Green Lantern and Superman! Green Lantern demonstrates extraordinary power with his lantern ring. As for Superman, we suspect he's not from Earth because he's too strong."

Sure enough, Wonder Woman wasn't too interested in the mysterious Green Lantern; she was completely captivated by the all-powerful, flying, and elusive Superman projected on the screen.

Like a god, yet not a god!

How can I find him?

Ang took a deep breath: "Don't press me. I can only tell you that he's in New York City next door. Because he... is extremely reluctant to have his life disturbed. If you anger him, the whole world could be in danger."

Wonder Woman blinked, secretly abandoning her plan to use the Lasso of Truth. Ang had treated her with sincerity, and she had no reason to press him for answers when he had his reasons.

Ang saved her and proved his stance. If she were to use the artifact to extract a confession after all that, she would feel guilty.

"Okay, I understand. Any other advice as a friend?"

Ang suddenly felt as if a knife had been plunged into his heart.

Does this count as being friend-zoned?

LOL!

Ang rolled his eyes. "Okay, my personal suggestion is—the newspaper!"

Ang didn't care when this damned world would be destroyed.

"Thank you so much!"

Ang couldn't keep Wonder Woman. Contrary to his memory, the original "history" was that Wonder Woman, driven by a sense of justice, voluntarily left the mountains to fight Ares. In this life, her hometown was in danger, forcing her to seek help.

The urgency of the two is not on the same level at all.

She spent a day cramming on basic common sense, and finally left on the speedboat provided by Ang.

Watching the heroine's dashing figure disappear from his sight, Ang finally couldn't help but roar angrily at the empty sea, "Damn it! One day I'll make you know that I, Ang, am the man Diana can't have!"

Theoretically, a sound from a kilometer away should be inaudible, yet on the speedboat, Wonder Woman's lips suddenly curled into a smile.

That radiant smile stunned even the passerby who was steering the boat.
