Chapter 9 The Man Who Came Back from the Dead

Chapter 9 The Man Who Came Back from the Dead

Yin Fu instantly ducked to the side, and his instinctive reaction saved his life in the instant of the attack!

Nora and Jim, who were terrified, rushed over to help, but the lightning-fast flesh spikes kept sliding towards their bodies, making it impossible for them to get close!

boom!

With a dull thud, the mutated David instantly collapsed to the ground, while the fire extinguisher that had struck his head also crashed heavily to the ground with a loud thud.

With lingering fear on his face and a somewhat crazed expression, Yin Fu rushed forward, grabbed a fire extinguisher bottle, and smashed it hard against David's head, like a wild beast's roar, accompanied by the violent sound of the impact.

To Nora and Jim's horror, David's head was smashed open, and he seemed to lose consciousness due to the head injury.

Yin Fu was pale and breathing heavily. Looking at his former friend, his face was extremely ugly!

Meanwhile, in a small courtyard where the wind and sun were shining brightly.

"dad!"

A clear voice echoed in the courtyard as a young Black boy rushed joyfully toward the man who looked haggard.

The man's movements were somewhat stiff as he slowly caught the little boy who had lunged at him and put him in his arms.

His wife quickly hugged him from behind, and the three of them were filled with a joyful and tearful atmosphere.

However, from the perspective of the little boy and the woman, the pale white membranes on both sides of the man's eyes blinked rapidly vertically, which looked extremely eerie!

Glug!

A deep, guttural sound, like a wild beast swallowing, echoed in their ears, and the little boy looked on with curiosity.

"Dad, were you swallowing just now?"

Slowly pulling away from his father's embrace, the little boy looked at his father, whose face was haggard and eyes were lifeless, with a hint of fear in his eyes.

The blonde woman next to her seemed to sense something was wrong and quickly pulled her son to her side.

"Helen, what's wrong?"

The blonde woman looked at the man who was staring intently at the two of them with some concern.

After a slight pause, the man spoke in a hoarse voice, trying to tear his eyes away from his wife and son.

"I... am not feeling well!"

Hearing the man's words, the woman slowly breathed a sigh of relief; she had almost not recognized her husband just now.

She quickly pulled the man into the room and placed her hands on his unusually cold palms.

"Oh, why are your hands so cold?"

The woman hurriedly went to the kitchen to boil a kettle of water to warm the man's hands.

Along with the humming of the kettle, the sound of something falling to the ground came from the hall. The woman frowned and turned around to look.

"Helend, what happened?"

Her gaze drifted through the kitchen's glass door to the outside, and the scene before her made her tense up instantly.

At this moment, her son's feet were sticking out of the coffee table, lying on the ground trembling, while her husband was on top of their son, doing something unknown.

"Helend?"

The woman, filled with doubt, rushed out of the kitchen and walked over, only to be so frightened by what she saw that she fell to the ground.

A fleshy tentacle, as thick as a forearm, emerged from the husband's mouth and pierced the son's neck. The tentacle throbbed intermittently, as if blood was flowing along it into the husband's mouth.

The man was actually swallowing his son's blood!

"what!"

A scream came from inside the house as the woman struggled to push the man away. But the next moment, the fleshy spike suddenly retracted into the man's mouth, and like lightning, it instantly bit into the woman's neck.

"Uh...cough cough!"

The moment it bit down, the woman froze on the spot. The fleshy spike seemed to have some unknown paralyzing property. Her body trembled uncontrollably, but she was unable to struggle.

The courtyard, bathed in sunshine and gentle breeze, has returned to its peaceful state.

At New York Central Hospital, Yin Fu placed David's body on the autopsy table, looking at his former friend with a pale expression.

"Fuck! Fuck!"

Jim, standing to the side, kept hurling insults, appearing completely deranged.

Nora, on the other hand, stood helplessly to the side, tears streaming down her face, unsure of what to do.

Taking a deep breath, Yin Fu picked up a scalpel from the table beside him. He was going to dissect David on the spot. The fleshy thorn he had just seen had completely shattered his worldview. David was definitely not human now!

As the body was dissected, white blood slowly flowed down. Everyone's faces were filled with horror. Yin Fu looked solemn as he put on gloves and slowly began to pry open the inhuman organs inside the chest.

"Fuck..."

The scene before him overturned his medical knowledge of more than 20 years. All the organs had undergone unknown changes, especially the still-beating heart. Under the bright light of the autopsy table, worms slowly crawled in the flesh and blood, which looked extremely creepy!

"What...what have I done?!"

Behind him, Jim suddenly collapsed to the ground in pain, his face full of remorse.

"Jim?" Nora asked, puzzled.

"I'm sorry, it's my fault. I didn't know what was hidden in that coffin, and I don't understand why the Stoneheart Group let those people who seemed to have undergone abnormal changes go!"

Jim was somewhat incoherent. Seeing the change in David, he knew he had made an unprecedented mistake!

Under Yin Fu's angry gaze, Jim recounted the Stoneheart Group's order for him to transport the sarcophagus from the plane, as well as the entire background and context of the release of those who had awakened.

boom!

With a look of resentment on his face, Yin Fu punched Jim hard, knocking him to the ground.

"I'm sorry, Iver!" Jim said, his face full of remorse.

"You bastard!"

Yin Fu gripped Jim's collar tightly, staring at his friend, about to deliver another punch when Nora quickly grabbed him and pulled him away.

"Now is not the time for resentment; I should quickly resolve the problems here and stop the spread of the disease!"

Nora Menlu shouted anxiously.

"Fuck!"

Yin Fu's face was extremely pale.

Just then, the door to the isolation room was suddenly kicked open, and several police officers dressed in black special forces uniforms rushed in.

The lead officer first glanced at David lying on the bed, then glared sternly at Yin Fu!

"Mr. Yin Fu, why did you kill Dr. David!"

Ignoring Yin Fu's explanation, the officers rushed forward and pinned Yin Fu down as he loudly explained his reasons.

With Nora and Jim looking on incredulously, they simply took him away.

"It's the Stoneheart Group; they've taken control of the police station!"

Jim, who knew the Stoneheart Group well, looked pale and filled with immense confusion and regret.

"Damn it, those unscrupulous businessmen, and those politicians!"

Nora was pale. The series of unexpected events had left her mind in a state of chaos, and she didn't know what to do. Suddenly, a figure flashed through her mind: the old man she had met outside the mine.

The old man's words echoed in her mind, seemingly fulfilling the prophecy of what was happening before her eyes.

Nora quickly pulled Jim up; she wanted to find the old man and find out what had happened.
