Chapter 67 Opportunity

The German and American forces continued to bombard each other, and thanks to the American occupation of the high ground, the initial decline gradually came to an end.

The two sides fought back and forth.

At the US military camp, Major General Pierd summoned Lin Jue.

"Lin! This is the U.S. Army combat hero badge issued to you by the government!"

Lin Jue slowly accepted the five-pointed star-shaped badge and pinned it to his chest. He then looked calmly at the old man who had promoted him to colonel.

"How about I send you to a boot camp in New Jersey to be an instructor for a batch of new recruits?"

"New Jersey boot camps?"

Lin Jue's eyes lit up as forgotten memories echoed in his mind. Yes, if Captain America hadn't become a super soldier yet, the first place he would have appeared on wouldn't have been the battlefield, but rather that somewhat unusual recruit training camp.

"Yes, I think that's where you should truly shine. Your skills and fearless spirit deserve to be passed down!"

Pierd's eyes were filled with admiration. In his eyes, Lin Jue was like a rare gem, radiating dazzling brilliance at all times, so much so that some soldiers he had once favored were now completely insignificant in comparison.

"Yes, General!"

……

As a U.S. military base vehicle slowly drove out of the camp, Major General Pierd watched Lin Jue leave, and the many colonel-level officers behind him all breathed a sigh of relief.

Lin Jue pressed down on them like a mountain, making it hard for them to breathe, and even those of the same rank had to be outmatched.

The soldier drove the armored vehicle attentively, glancing furtively at the rearview mirror out of the corner of his eye. The mirror reflected Lin Jue sitting upright in the back seat of the armored vehicle, his eyes closed as if resting.

The soldier's eyes were filled with admiration and respect.

In the recruit training camp, soldiers huddled together, their faces filled with excitement, clearly discussing something.

The thin Steve was pushed to the periphery of the crowd, where he could hear the soldiers cheering and snippets of conversation.

"God, do you know what news I just received?"

"Fuck, you don't even need to tell me, it's already spread throughout the entire training camp!"

"America's only combat hero is coming to our training camp, and supposedly he'll be one of our instructors! My God!"

"Haha, I can finally see this hero who utterly defeated the German army!"

"A combat hero?"

Steve's eyes showed envy; the small-statured man couldn't even imagine how proud it would be to have that title.

With the training instructors' shouts, the group of greenhorns quickly scattered, each rushing towards their instructors.

Steve was no exception. However, perhaps because he was on the outside, his tall and strong partner behind him knocked him to the ground in an instant. He only hurriedly said an apology and then quickly ran towards the instructor, without making any attempt to help him up.

As he stood up, somewhat unsteadily, saying it was okay, Steve realized that all his teammates had already gathered with the instructors.

Somewhat anxiously, Steve rushed over, and sure enough, he was a step late and was severely scolded by the instructor.

"Colonel Lin Jue is not someone you can discuss! Don't you know your own limitations?"

The burly instructor shouted and cursed loudly, facing Steve, whose head was hanging down. His spittle flew everywhere. Although he was cursing everyone, his words were directed at Steve.

He was born to admire strength, and he was originally quite satisfied with the instructor in this camp. However, he never expected that Commander Chester would assign him such a thin guy. In his opinion, Steve could not even be a good ordinary soldier, let alone the soldiers he was training. This made him extremely resentful and he was also exceptionally strict with Steve.

Training resumed day after day until Chester led Carter and others on a tour of the recruit camp, at which point the instructors stopped training the recruits.

Chester's gaze swept over the burly, determined recruits, and a look of satisfaction appeared on his face. But when his gaze fell downwards, he noticed Steve, whose chest was heaving violently and who appeared unusually thin.

Noticing his gaze, the instructor couldn't help but step forward: "Sir, I still think Steve is simply not fit to be a U.S. soldier!"

The sharp words did not change Steve's expression in the slightest, but the perceptive Chester still noticed the fleeting disappointment in the corner of his eye.

A smile played on Chester's lips, and just as he was about to say something, all the soldiers, including the sergeants, gasped in surprise.

The new recruits in front of them all looked over, and were immediately filled with shock and disbelief.

A tall, handsome Asian man slowly walked towards them.

Along the way, soldiers and officers alike looked on with reverence!

The visitor was none other than Lin Jue.

As the only combat hero in the U.S. military, Lin Jue's photo has already spread throughout the U.S. military and even made headlines in American newspapers.

It's hard for anyone not to recognize that distinctive and exceptionally handsome Asian face.

Upon Lin Jue's arrival, even Chester, the highest-ranking officer in the military camp, couldn't help but step forward and greet him with a smile.

He slowly shook hands with the founder of S.H.I.E.L.D., who changed his mind because of a grenade in the original comics and was the one who promoted Captain America to a superhero.

"Colonel Lin Jue, your arrival has set the camp in New Jersey ablaze!" Chester uttered his clumsy words of praise, looking at Lin Jue as if he were an equal.

Even though Lin Jue's face looks exceptionally young!

Behind him, Carter and the others suppressed their excitement, staring intently at Lin Jue's face, as if trying to understand why this man could break through the German blockade with a mortal body and create that incredible legend!

"Colonel Chester, hello. Is it an honor to be a new instructor at this training camp?"

Lin Jue smiled, gently released Chester's hand, and looked at the recruits who were still standing in the same spot, but whose heads were all turned around. He immediately spotted a small, thin figure.

At this moment, even the usually serious training instructors followed Chester with expressions of admiration.

Lin Jue slowly strolled past them and came to the recruits, casually looking at the group of energetic and muscular soldiers.

Their gazes lingered briefly on Steve, who stood ramrod straight with a determined look in his eyes.

The instructor, who had been keeping a close eye on Lin Jue, noticed his unusual behavior and quickly reprimanded him, "Steve, you can go back to camp and rest!"

Steve's face turned deathly pale instantly; he could immediately tell that the training officer was ashamed of him.

All eyes were on him, including those of the person he now revered. The feeling of the sky collapsing made it hard for him to breathe.

Just as he was about to turn and leave, Lin Jue, who was standing in front, suddenly took out a grenade from his side, pulled the fire hydrant, and casually threw it in front of the recruits!
