Chapter 25 The Reason for the Murder

In a dark, deep alley, thick snow seemed to tell of how deserted this place was. A blurry figure glided by, and Lin Jue's boots disappeared completely into the snow.

"etc!"

Whoosh!

With slightly rapid breathing, a woman in a leather jacket, with stunning curves, supported herself on her knees and gasped for breath.

She clearly looked very tired.

Patrinia stared directly at Lin Jue, who had his back to her, and spoke very quickly.

Why did you kill those guys?

"Kill them? They're stained with blood, reeking of sin; death is a mercy to them!"

A deep, resonant voice echoed through the alley. Lin Jue looked into the darkness without turning around. He could hear the woman's strong heartbeat behind him, which seemed to be a stark contrast to the one he had encountered before.

That was not a normal person's heartbeat; it was slow yet powerful!

He quickly recalled some superheroes or supervillains he knew from his previous life, and a figure flashed through his mind... but that person's appearance and figure were somewhat different from this person's!

Long ago, when Lin Jue saw Bruce Wayne's completely unfamiliar appearance in the newspaper, he realized that this world was completely different from what he had seen in the past. This world was filled with a large number of superhumans, and the trajectory of many things was also very different from before, so he would not deliberately intervene in this world.

Although it's said that he transmigrated into an American comic book world, Lin Jue felt that he had only transmigrated into a similar world, or rather, a parallel world. This world was much more chaotic, with no absolute good or evil!

"Killing doesn't solve everything!"

Patricia said softly, her voice surprisingly carrying a hint of persuasion.

Lin Jue's eyes flickered slightly, but the woman's words behind him did not shake his mind in the slightest. He was certainly not a bloodthirsty person, but if killing could quickly accumulate energy to cross dimensional worlds, Lin Jue felt that it was not so bad to have some sinful blood on his hands.

"What are you going to do with those girls?"

Seemingly having overheard their conversation, three girls huddled together slowly emerged from the dark alley. Their gazes were filled with a complex mix of gratitude and fear as they looked nervously at the black masks.

Previously, Lin Jue rushed into the carriage and killed the man guarding them with a single punch, which greatly frightened the three of them.

"It's up to you!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Lin Jue's figure vanished from the spot in an instant, without giving Patrinia any chance to react.

The extraordinary dynamic vision made Patricia's eyes follow Lin Jue's disappearing figure closely. Unlike ordinary people, who could only see afterimages, Patricia could clearly see every step Lin Jue took and every swing of his arms.

Knowing she couldn't catch up, Patricia simply gave up.

Watching the figure disappear into the night, Patricia thought to herself, "One day I'll find out who you really are!"

Her gaze then fell upon the three girls huddled together, looking at her, and a hint of pity flashed in her eyes.

After the crowd disappeared into the alley, about three hours later, police cars slowly drove through the alley.

In one of the police trucks with a large cargo bed, several officers were constantly operating computers, connecting to nearby surveillance cameras via the intranet.

George's gaze was fixed intently on the footage captured by each of the cameras.

"I didn't expect there to be a second person. Who is this guy?" The elderly detective looked surprised and pointed to a slender figure on the screen. Judging from the surveillance camera footage, this mysterious guy seemed to be tracking the Judge.

George's gaze, however, was fixed on the image of Patricia leaving with the three girls, and he quickly pinpointed the location.

As the police cars sped away, officers quickly surrounded a newly opened coffee shop.

As the coffee shop door was suddenly kicked open, George pointed his gun at the people in the lobby.

"what!"

Amidst the screams that rose and fell, his gaze swept quickly across the terrified faces.

"Officer, what's wrong?"

An elderly woman walked up to her, her face full of confusion, and asked.

"Please cooperate in the search for this wanted criminal!"

With a gesture of command, officers quickly rushed into the coffee shop's interior and found an open window in the second-floor restroom.

"Fuck!"

The officers reluctantly returned to the living room.

At this moment, George was comforting the three girls who were huddled in the corner of the living room.

"Did you get a good look at those two people?"

George felt somewhat helpless as he watched the three children shaking their heads frantically, their faces pale and filled with terror.

Soon, the three girls were taken back to the police station in a police car. After a brief statement was taken, the questioning ended amidst the angry shouts of the girls' parents.

"What are they doing? Go out and arrest criminals! They're targeting our savior!"

"Yes, yes, if Gotham's police department really worked for us taxpayers, society wouldn't be so chaotic!"

"My poor daughter, I almost never saw her again, sob... Thank you, judge!"

"Fuck you!"

Until they left.

The police station had just returned to peace, but everyone's faces were grim. They had actually discovered Huang Mao and his gang's criminal activities long ago and had been tracking them, but they never expected that the judges would take the lead and kill the criminals first.

Now they're the ones being insulted!

"Boss, let's just ignore that Judge anymore. I feel like that guy is even scarier than Batman. Look at those guys in Central, they've been turning a blind eye for a long time."

The police officer who had tried to intercept Lin Jue outside the factory said with lingering fear that the fear of an ordinary person being killed by an extraordinary person still haunted him.

"Can that guy be compared to Batman?"

George said irritably, his eyes fixed on the screen. This was the third time he had watched the blurry footage of Lin Jue rescuing three girls from the truck and then killing Huang Mao and the others.

clap clap clap!

The crisp sound of applause echoed throughout the police station. Under the astonished gazes of many officers, their police chief, with a beaming smile, welcomed a white-haired man in a tuxedo into the station.

The man smiled and clapped.

"Our East District Police Station is really dedicated. It's only the early hours of the morning, and everyone is already diligently working at their posts."

"Alan Grayson?"

Upon seeing that somewhat familiar face, George jumped up from his chair, a very serious expression on his face, and strode toward the man.

"Huh? Detective George, what are you doing?"

Leon, his face contorted with rage, stood in front of Allen.

New author, new book, begging for everything! (ω)
