Douluo: Yun Ming in the Spirit Hall Era
Chapter 2 The Beginning of Everything
Chapter 2 The Beginning
Douluo Continent, Northern Star Luo Empire, Yinchuan City
Yinchuan City is a major city in the northern part of the Xingluo Empire. Due to its flat terrain, mild climate, and abundant rainfall, it has unique advantages in medicinal herb cultivation and is an important town for the supply of medicinal herbs in northern Xingluo.
In the Douluo Continent, there are two great empires, or rather, two alliances. Within these two empires, vast territories are divided among feudal lords, and countless nobles possess armed forces.
One of these two empires is the Xingluo Empire, where Yinchuan City is located, and the other is the Tiandou Empire, which is located to the north of Xingluo.
Yinchuan City is less than 800 li away from the Heaven Dou Empire, making it the closest city in the Star Luo Empire to the Heaven Dou Empire.
As dawn broke, a faint, fish-belly white hue rose in the distance to the east.
Located in the Po clan's mansion in the eastern part of Yinchuan city, this is a secluded courtyard. Upon entering, the courtyard is not luxurious; instead, it is quiet and simple. The courtyard is paved with bluestone, and its layout is elegant and natural, with flower beds, lawns, and a medicinal herb garden arranged in a harmonious and comfortable manner. The architectural style is simple and natural, mainly using wood and stone, giving it a rustic and tranquil feel.
Inside the courtyard, a small, thin figure was practicing marksmanship with a miniature spear. He was a boy who looked about five or six years old, with bright, piercing eyes, spirited eyebrows, and a high, straight nose, making him unforgettable at first sight.
"Whoosh~"
"Whoosh~"
"Waaah~"
The spear danced, its tip like a dragon, arcing through the air with each movement, like a dragon emerging from the abyss, powerful and unparalleled. The graceful, flowing spear shadows were poetic and picturesque, agile yet composed, exuding an unmatched charm. Without witnessing it firsthand, it would be hard to imagine that such masterful spear technique could come from the hands of a child.
"Phew~~~"
After finishing his marksmanship demonstration, the boy exhaled a long breath, a white stream of air shooting out of his mouth like a ribbon. He put down his rifle, picked up a towel to wipe the sweat from his brow, and looked up at the dimly lit sky. He had something to do today, not only because it was necessary, but also to uncover the truth of what happened back then.
The young man was Yun Ming, the patriarch of the Po clan, the grandson of Yang Wudi, and also the master of Shrek Academy and Sea God Pavilion 20,000 years later.
Although Yun Ming returned to 20,000 years ago and was reborn, his memories were distorted. He still possesses the behavioral habits, personality, and physical instincts of his previous life, but his memories of that life have not yet been restored. Of course, they only haven't been restored yet!
The memories that remain in my mind now are all from this lifetime.
Today is special; it's Yunming's sixth birthday, and also a day of remembrance for the clan!
This is to commemorate the clansmen who died at the hands of the Spirit Hall because of the Clear Sky Sect, and to commemorate Yun Ming's deceased parents and uncle. Because of the special nature of this date, Yun Ming has never celebrated his birthday.
After calming his mind by observing the changing sky, Yun Ming returned to his room to wash and prepare for the upcoming sacrificial ceremony.
Perhaps sensing the sorrowful atmosphere of the Yang family, the weather was not good today. Thick clouds filled the sky, making the whole world gloomy.
Yun Ming had just finished washing up and was dressed in white mourning clothes when he stepped out of his room and saw an old man waiting in the courtyard.
The old man was tall and slender, with a well-proportioned build, black hair, and a ruddy complexion. However, his expression was somewhat gloomy, and his sinister eyes gave off a chilling feeling, making him appear cold and aloof. This man was none other than Yang Wudi, the current patriarch of the Po clan and Yun Ming's maternal grandfather.
When Yang Wudi saw that his grandson had finished getting ready, his expression remained unchanged, still cold, and he directly greeted Yun Ming.
"Let's go, it's about to start!"
Seeing this, Yun Ming didn't say much, but stepped forward and took Yang Wudi's hand. Yang Wudi was always in a particularly bad mood during these few days every year. Yun Ming knew the reason and was used to it. All he could do was let his grandfather feel his presence so that his grandfather wouldn't be so sad.
When Yang Wudi saw his grandson take the initiative to shake his hand, although his expression did not change much, the coldness in his eyes quietly faded a little. He also held Yun Ming's hand tightly, and together they walked towards the clan's ancestral hall.
When Yang Wudi and his grandson arrived at the ancestral hall, most of the other members of the clan had already gathered. There were only about four hundred people. Upon seeing the two arrive, they stepped forward to greet them.
"Chieftain!"
"Chieftain!"
"Chieftain!"
Yang Wudi nodded in response, and led Yun Ming through the crowd to the front of the ancestral hall, to the sacrificial table where various offerings were placed.
Yunming looked at the memorial tablets with his parents' names on them placed behind the sacrificial table. Although he tried his best to keep calm on his small face, his eyes carried a silent sorrow, quiet and poignant.
Looking at the sorrowful expression on Yun Ming's face, who had been intelligent, sensible, and strong since childhood, Yang Wudi felt as if his heart was being torn apart. But after the heartache came a deep-seated hatred, as if endless flames were burning in his chest, and he could not even suppress his own killing intent.
Sensing the violent killing intent emanating from Yang Wudi, everyone felt as if they had fallen into an ice cellar, trembling with fear. Yun Ming was also affected by this killing intent, temporarily shaking off his grief, and spoke up to remind his grandfather, Yang Wudi.
"Grandpa, it's time to begin the ancestral rites!"
Upon hearing Yun Ming's reminder, Yang Wudi also came to his senses. Looking at the fearful and uneasy clansmen around him, he withdrew his killing intent and spoke to the clansmen in charge of the sacrificial ceremony.
Let's begin!
Seeing that the clan leader had withdrawn his murderous aura, the clan members inside the ancestral hall relaxed and couldn't help but marvel at his power.
When the clansman spoke, the members of the clan who were performing the ritual quickly stepped forward to begin the ceremony.
"The ceremony begins!"
"play music!"
I'm currently reading the error-free version! This is the first time I've published this novel.
After the completion of each sacrificial ritual, including playing music, firing cannons, beating drums, ringing bells, and whisking, the process came to the incense offering stage.
After Yang Wudi finished offering incense, Yun Ming stepped forward, took the incense from Yang Wudi, looked at the memorial tablets of his parents and clansmen, and made a firm promise in his childish voice.
"Dad, Mom, Uncle, and the clansmen!"
"Yun Ming hereby swears an oath!"
"I will make the Clear Sky Sect pay the price for their betrayal back then."
"I will also settle the score between the Broken Clan and the Spirit Hall."
"Give our people an explanation!"
"From the highest heavens to the deepest hell!"
"This is my oath!"
"Never give up until death!!!"
Yun Ming's attitude towards the Spirit Hall was somewhat ambiguous; he was a little confused because he knew too little about what happened back then. The information Yun Ming currently had was insufficient for him to make a final decision.
Objectively speaking, the Spirit Hall did kill many members of the Breaking Clan back then, but the Breaking Clan also killed many members of the Spirit Hall! The conflict between the two sides back then was largely due to differences in their stances. With the news of the Breaking Clan's withdrawal from the Clear Sky Sect spreading throughout the continent, the Spirit Hall hasn't bothered them again in recent years. It's a complicated situation, and given the Breaking Clan's current state, they can't afford to get involved any further.
From a moral standpoint, although Yun Ming dislikes the Spirit Hall, he still acknowledges its contributions and importance to the Soul Master world over the years. Yun Ming cannot overthrow the entire Spirit Hall out of hatred.
From a personal perspective, Yun Ming only knows that his parents died because of that incident, but he doesn't know who his target for revenge is. Whether it's Bibi Dong or someone else, whether that person is alive or dead, Yun Ming has no idea.
Yang Wudi and the other members of the Broken Clan in the ancestral hall were stunned by Yun Ming's words and aura. They felt that Yun Ming was exuding an aura that could shake the world and that he was invincible. This made them feel a tremor from the depths of their souls. This feeling was even more unforgettable than when Yang Wudi's killing intent was leaked before.
This left Yang Wudi and the few remaining elders of the clan in a daze. This was the second time they had ever seen someone possess such an absolutely invincible aura. The last time was with Tang Chen, the former sect master of the Haotian Sect.
In an instant, the old men were so moved that tears welled up in their eyes, and their bodies trembled slightly. If it weren't for the inappropriate occasion, they would have knelt down and shouted with joy, "The gods have blessed us! They have sent a child of hope to our Po clan!"
Yun Ming's resolute tone, unwavering will, and overwhelming aura inspired trust in everyone, making them believe that this child would surely fulfill his vow in the future.
Looking at Yun Ming's face, so strikingly similar to his daughter's, Yang Wudi's eyes welled with tears, his heart filled with joy. He rejoiced at Yun Ming's innate aura of strength, at his daughter and son-in-law having such a fine son, and at himself having such a wonderful grandson. He was also happy that he had not failed his daughter's dying wish to raise her son into a true man. But after the joy subsided, Yang Wudi understood Yun Ming's intentions. His happiness faded, and a sense of worry welled up in his heart.
