Chapter 66 Frustrated Clark (Bonus chapter for the user with the last four digits 12224)

The morning sunlight shone on the yellow school bus.

"To be honest, I hated today's itinerary, visiting the Luther Chemical Plant."

Chloe frowned, her face reflected in the glass; the girl looked unhappy.

Pete, sitting next to me, grinned mischievously and said, "It's because Chloe's dad also works at a chemical plant, and her father is a total show-off."

"Shut up, Pete!"

As the two bickered, Pete was somewhat surprised that Clark remained silent, simply looking down at the metal plate of the school bus, as if observing something.

Pete waved his hand in front of Clark's eyes: "Clark, what are you thinking about?"

"what?"

Clark snapped out of his daze and licked his lips: "I wasn't thinking about anything."

From an angle unseen by others.

Beneath the school bus chassis, Earl, a Black man, was struggling to hide in a luggage storage compartment.

"Welcome, everyone, to Luther Chemical Plant!"

A middle-aged man in a suit and tie stood proudly with his chest puffed out, holding a file folder in his hand, looking at the dozens of students who were visiting today.

Clark, Chloe, Pitt, and Lana, along with her ex-boyfriend Whitney.

The middle-aged white man smiled and said, "I'm Gab Sullivan, the factory manager, and also a proud father, right, Chloe?"

Amidst the crowd and feeling the gazes directed at her, Chloe gave an awkward laugh: "That's right, Dad."

What else did the manager want to say to these students? Just then, a group of people surrounded Lex and headed towards the elevator.

"Mr. Lex."

Gaber immediately dropped his work of greeting the students.

"Oh? Today is student visit day?" Lex stopped, his gaze sweeping over Clark, a smile playing on his lips. "Gabber, let me show them around."

He was very curious about Clark's current strength.

When the big boss spoke, Gai Bo nodded in agreement.

Lex turned to his assistant and gave the order:

"Lina, go and bring them here, and let them take the elevator up."

"I'll wait for them on the fourth floor."

"Everyone," Lex's assistant said sullenly, the old woman with a long face, "put all electronic devices you're carrying into storage boxes. Taking photos and running around in the factory are not allowed."

"Uh, ma'am."

Clark seized the opportunity to ask, "I heard the factory used to have a third floor, is that true?"

The assistant shook his head without hesitation: "No, it's a rumor."

"Alright everyone, follow me, we're going up the stairs."

A large group of people followed their assistant into the elevator.

Shortly after they left, Earl, a Black man, pushed open the iron door of the storage room and turned to walk towards the emergency exit on the other side.

He walked through countless corridors filled with iron pipes and climbed the stairs that smelled of rust.

Soon, the Black man reached the doorway on the third floor.

"Huff huff"

He took a deep breath and then turned the doorknob.

"Click!"

As the iron gate opened, a small storage cabinet came into view.

"This, this is impossible!"

Earl's emotions were instantly ignited by the scene before him, and he rushed into the storage room like a madman, searching frantically.

But apart from a white wall and a cold iron frame, there was nothing else in the room.

"That's impossible!"

With his only hope shattered, Earl's eyes turned red, and the black man frantically pounded on the cold wall.

His future, his hope, were all gone!

With a distorted mindset, Earl was unable to accept this fact.

The Black man muttered to himself, "No, the third floor must exist."

His hand reached into his suit pocket.

Earl held a dark, American-style Iai pistol in his hand.

The black man's eyes were filled with intoxication as he stretched out his large, rough hand and stroked the gun.

"Click".

With a bullet chambered, Earl revealed a crumbling smile: "No, there must be hope. They must have hidden the third floor."

Fourth floor.

Students, notebooks in hand, gathered in the spacious office on the fourth floor of the factory.

Surrounded by sophisticated equipment, a group of scientists in white coats are monitoring various parameters on the computer.

"Welcome, everyone, to Luther Corporation." Lex, with his hands behind his back, led the group on a tour: "This is the factory's command center."

"We process 10 tons of animal waste here every year," Lex said with a wicked grin, licking his teeth. "I hope you guys don't bring any flammable materials, or we'll all be blown to bits."

Laughter rippled through the crowd, but Clark alone wore a troubled expression.

He was somewhat worried about whether Earl would be able to successfully infiltrate the area.

"Whoosh whoosh whoosh!"

A clanging sound of metal clashing interrupted Lex's speech.

The bald, domineering CEO glanced at Gaber: "Manager, go see what's going on?"

Gaber walked toward the source of the sound, to a locked iron gate.

"Splash!"

Before Gaber could get close, the iron gate was kicked open, and a tall, muscular black man with a fierce look grabbed Gaber by the neck and then raised the dark muzzle of a gun to Gaber's temple.

Before the man could even react, the black man grabbed him by the neck and subdued him.

The students were also taken aback by this sudden scene, and only Chloe let out a terrified scream: "Dad!"

The next second, many people came to their senses and realized that they had been kidnapped. Some timid girls even cried out in fear.

Clark roared, "Earl, what are you doing?"

At this moment, Clark was filled with remorse; he shouldn't have been so generous with his kindness and compassion.

Clark decides to prevent the tragedy he has caused.

The boy swung his arms and took a step, unleashing lightning speed in milliseconds. Everything around him seemed to freeze and slow down. Clark ran towards Earl, reaching out his right hand to grab Earl's gun-wielding arm.

"Snapped!"

The moment the skin touched him, the kryptonite flowing within Earl burst forth with a dazzling green light.

"what!"

Clark yelled, then was easily pushed to the ground by Earl.

"Thump!" Clark fell to the floor in a sorry state, but in the midst of the chaos, no one noticed Clark's unusual behavior.

People were screaming and crying.

"Shut up, all of you!" Earl roared at the crowd, silencing all the noise.

His voice was deep and hoarse as he roared at Gaber, "Gaber, you're the manager here, you should know where the third floor is. Take me there."

"Otherwise, I'll shoot you all dead!"

All he wants now is to recover; he's willing to give up the lives of others.

"Father!"

Chloe clenched her fists in the crowd.

The girl instinctively wanted to rush forward to rescue her father, but Lex grabbed her wrist and whispered, "Go through the emergency exit at the back. The code is 1017. Go to the basement level and find Gino. Be quick!"

Chloe rolled her eyes, suppressing her fear, nodded, and cautiously moved backward.

"Hey, you're Earl, right?" Lex stepped forward, trying to get Earl's attention. The bald man looked arrogant. "Since you want to kidnap someone to find the third level, why not find a hostage of sufficient importance?"

Earl asked warily, "Who are you?"

Lex puffed out his chest: "I'm Lex Luthor, the owner of this factory."
