Chapter 61 Gino's Doubts

Luther Factory.

The first basement level.

Bizarro, looking like a walking zombie, grinned as he followed Lex, repeatedly muttering the word "father."

This big, goofy guy seemed to have no worries at all, shouting with a big smile, completely oblivious to Lex's increasingly unpleasant expression.

After a period of instruction, Bizaro has learned some basic vocabulary.

"Shut up, Bizarro, go stand in the corner for a minute!" Lex glared fiercely at Bizarro.

"Oh." Bizarro scratched his head, wondering what he had done to anger his father. He moved to the corner to stand as punishment, muttering as he counted, "1, 2, 3."

"So, why does he call you father?" Gino asked, lying on the sofa.

Lex sighed. "Because those idiots told B-Zero that whoever created him is his father."

Gino grinned: "Congratulations! You're so young to have such a big son. Does Victoria know?"

Lex glared at Gino fiercely: "Shut up, Gino!"

The two brothers were bickering as usual when a security guard approached Gino.

The man bowed respectfully and said, "Mr. Gino, the security guard at the gate informed us that your classmate Chloe is waiting outside the factory."

"Chloe?"

Gino stood up and rubbed his cheeks, somewhat curious. What was the girl doing here?

Is it because you're worried that I haven't been to class for a few days?

With a sigh, Gino said quietly, "Tell the gatekeeper to let her in."

Chloe walked into the sprawling Luther factory.

Whether intentional or accidental, the Luther factory's architecture resembled a nuclear power plant, with towering chimneys belching black smoke into the sky.

The girl stared blankly up at the chimney above her head, lost in thought for a moment.

My dad works as a workshop foreman at this factory.

"Smack."

My shoulder was gently touched.

Chloe tensed her shoulders in fright and turned around to meet a pair of pure, azure eyes.

"Gino, Gino!?"

Looking into those bright blue eyes, Chloe stammered and backed away.

I don't know why, but after not seeing them for a few days, their eyes, which I used to look at so often, seemed even clearer and bluer.

"What's wrong?" Gino laughed, waving his right hand in front of Chloe's eyes, teasing, "Is there something in my eyes?"

"No, no, it's just that your eyes look very beautiful."

Chloe turned her head away to hide her guilt, the setting sun seemingly casting a layer of gold dust on the girl's beautiful short golden hair.

Gino casually remarked, "Ah, maybe it's just a bit dark today."

That's certainly not the reason. His eyes are azure because he's been practicing the Ice Beam technique all this time, which makes them appear somewhat blue.

"Yes, that's right."

Chloe nudged the books in her arms with her chin and looked at Gino, saying, "Final exams are next week, I think you need to study."

"I have already marked the key points for the exam in the textbook."

Gino listened patiently to the girl, nodding in agreement from time to time.

"Ring ring~"

A series of phone rings interrupted the two.

Upon answering the phone, Pete's anxious voice came through: "Gino! Clark has fainted."

Chloe, who was standing nearby, pricked up her ears to listen.

Hearing Pete's words, Gino was somewhat surprised: "Clark fainted?"

The two exchanged a glance.

"Okay, I'll be right there." Gino hung up the phone and looked at Chloe.

"Chloe, come with me to the hospital."

"Clark has fainted."

Gino returned to the town hospital, feeling a sense of nostalgia as if he were revisiting a familiar place.

Smelling the pungent smell of disinfectant in the corridor, he felt a little dazed, remembering that thirteen years ago, he and Lex were also reborn in this hospital.

Gino pushed open the door and walked into the ward with Chloe.

On the white hospital bed, Clark lay calmly with his eyes closed, breathing evenly, seemingly without any major problems.

"What happened?" Gino looked at Pete, who pursed his thick lips and recounted what had happened.

"Infected factory workers?" Gino frowned. "I don't know anything about that."

Ten years ago, when Earl was expelled, he even went with his mother to visit some mysterious magicians.

However, it is indeed something Lionel would do.

The boy frowned, but something else was on his mind.

Based on Pete's account of Earl's reaction, it's highly likely that Earl was also affected by Kryptonite, and he suggests that everything was caused by Lionel.

Perhaps this also proves that his father had been secretly researching kryptonite for over ten years.

But why did Lionel never tell him these things?

What are they hiding?

A shadow fell over his heart, but Gino's expression remained unchanged. He smiled and asked, "Where is Earl now?"

There were some things he planned to clarify in person.

How did Earl become like this? Was it due to the influence of Kryptonite? What did he see in the chemical plant?

These are all questions that Gino must find the answers to.

Pete scratched his head and pointed to the next ward: "He's handcuffed to the bed."

"Da da da".

The clock on the wall turned with a flowing rhythm.

The smell of disinfectant was mixed with the pungent smell of steel.

In the dimly lit hospital room, Earl slowly opened his eyes.

When people are in an unfamiliar environment, their first reaction is to observe.

He instinctively tried to sit up by supporting himself on the bed.

"Splash!"

The cold clanking of chains reached Earl's ears. He turned his head and found his arms handcuffed to the headboard.

"Huff huff"

Earl was breathing heavily, a little nervous, and instinctively clenched his fists. Had he been caught?

"Knock knock knock~"

A knock sounded on the door. Before Earl could react, the door opened, and a tall, blond-haired, blue-eyed boy stood expressionlessly in the doorway, staring at him.

The boy, wearing a casual white short-sleeved shirt, black shorts, and sneakers, slowly walked towards Earl while whistling.

"Who...who are you?!"

Earl swallowed nervously at the stranger who had barged into the room, staring intently at the boy's face.

A jumble of thoughts raced through Earl's mind. Who was this person? What did he intend to do by barging in? Could he be an assassin sent by Lionel?

Earl had also worked at the Luther Group and had heard his colleagues mention the Seed Family's "disappearance technique."

The girl in the metal barrel beneath the concrete of Wall Street has the most to say on this.

"Earl Skinner, right?"

Gino ignored the man's question and just stared at the black man on the hospital bed.

He stood in front of the man, his face cold, and said, "I want to ask you a few questions."

"You used to work at a chemical plant in a small town. What turned you into the person you are today?"

Upon hearing Gino's question, Earl did not answer. Instead, he stared at Gino warily and demanded, "Who are you?"

"Oh, I forgot." Gino sighed, patting his head as if annoyed by his forgetfulness. He stared into the black man's eyes, pressed his hand to his chest, and said, word by word, "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Gino, Gino Luther."

Upon hearing Gino's words, the black man's eyes widened in surprise!
