Chapter 50 The Ball Turmoil
Chapter 50 The Ball Turmoil
Smallville Town High School.
The news that Gino was going to have a dance spread like wildfire throughout the campus.
"Hey, did you hear? That rich kid's throwing a dance?"
"My God, I can't even imagine how lively it will be."
"Some say there's exquisite food and fine wine there!"
Almost everyone was talking about the ball.
What these high school students cared about even more was who received invitations and who wasn't eligible to attend the dance.
In the minds of these high school students, school reputation has become synonymous with eligibility for the prom.
At this moment, Clark and Pete were surrounded by a crowd on the school playground.
"Please, Pete, I think I need this invitation~" The busty girl winked at Pete, who was short and dark-skinned, and looked expectantly at the stack of invitations.
The crowd was noisy, like hundreds of flies buzzing around.
"Oh my god!" Little Black Pete couldn't help but groan, saying to Clark beside him, "I now suspect that Gino had anticipated this situation, which is why he made us do this."
Pete quipped, "And he himself took Chloe to buy a prom dress."
Clark didn't have time to pay attention to Pete's complaints. He was standing with Lana, registering applicants, and even though he was busy to the point of dizziness, he felt incredibly happy.
After parting ways with Gino, Clark immediately sought out Lana and asked his goddess for help.
Lana suggested to Clark that they first count how many people wanted to participate, and then conduct a second screening to confirm the list.
"Hey, may I sign up?"
A gentle voice rang out, and Clark looked up to see a slightly overweight girl standing timidly in the crowd.
She was wearing a purple shirt and baggy jeans, and when she lowered her head slightly, a double chin appeared.
This is undoubtedly a chubby girl, and her evasive gaze indicates her low self-esteem.
"Wow, what are we seeing?" A high school student holding a basketball sneered from the crowd, "A whale trying to attend a celebrity party?"
"What are you going there for? To perform swallowing food like a whale?"
Before he could finish speaking, the crowd erupted in laughter.
Clearly, people's joys and sorrows are not shared.
"Hey, don't talk about her like that!" Pete couldn't stand it anymore and glared at the basketball boy, threateningly saying, "If you cause any more trouble, I won't send you an invitation!"
Hearing Pete's threat, the basketball boy shrugged and turned his head away: "Wow, I didn't expect you to like fat girls."
"Hahaha!"
Another burst of laughter erupted, but this time, the mocking glances and sneers from the crowd felt like sharp swords piercing the fat girl's heart. She covered her face and quickly moved away from the playground.
"Julie!" Pete wanted to chase after her to ask about the girl's situation, but the next second, a bunch of people surrounded him and asked about the invitation.
"Waaaaah!"
Julie didn't know how she got home. She ran into her room, collapsed onto her bed, and cried bitterly.
"Nobody likes me, I'm just a big fat pig!"
Tears streamed down the girl's chubby cheeks, wetting the pillow. Seemingly exhausted from crying, Julie slowly sat up, her gaze resolute.
"No, I want to lose weight!"
She rushed out of the room and into her own vegetable garden.
The girl squatted down and pulled some green vegetables from the garden.
She had a plan in mind: to juice these vegetables and replace the food she ate every day.
"These nasty stones."
The girl grasped the green stones mixed in with the soil and threw them into the trash can.
After doing all this, Julie carried the vegetables into the kitchen.
"Buzz!"
The juicer blends and crushes the vegetables into a thick, green juice.
Julie took a deep breath, looked at the astringent green water in the glass, closed her eyes, and drank it all in one gulp.
She smacked her lips, wiped the vegetable crumbs from the corner of her mouth, and muttered to herself, "I hope this will help me lose weight."
It was another morning when Julie, the chubby girl, woke up. She rubbed her eyes, put on her shoes, and began the first thing she did every morning – weigh herself.
She gently stepped onto the scale, and as the red numbers on the scale changed, Julie was surprised to find that she had actually lost weight!
"This is amazing!"
The girl walked excitedly to the mirror. She gently lifted her pajamas, and her previously bloated belly visibly slimmed down, even revealing an attractive six-pack.
The unsightly double chin had disappeared, and the thick thighs had slimmed down.
"This, this is amazing!" Julie clenched her fists excitedly, the feeling of losing weight intoxicating her.
Then, she began to wonder why she had lost weight.
"That's right, it's that vegetable juice!" Julie's eyes lit up, and she rushed barefoot downstairs.
If, if I lose weight, maybe I'll be qualified to get an invitation to the ball from Pitt!
Luther Castle.
On the table.
"Are you having a dance tonight?" Lex picked up a fried egg and put it in his mouth.
"Of course, this castle is too deserted; it should be more lively." Gino raised an eyebrow, took a sip of his favorite milk, and asked, "Would you like to come? I can send you an invitation."
"Forget it." Lex picked up a napkin and elegantly wiped his mouth. "I plan to set up an agricultural alliance locally to turn around the company's losses and, incidentally, shut that vampire up."
"Oh, right." Lex seemed to have thought of something, staring at Gino: "You've found a dance partner?"
"Yes, a girl from a local high school."
Lex smiled and said, "Lucky girl."
"So, half of the two hundred invitations have already been sent out?"
Inside the school, Gino had his arm around Clark's neck, teasingly asking, "Let me think, is Lana on the invitation list?"
"Hey, Gino, don't say that." Clark stammered, not giving a direct answer: "Lana has a great personality, she's warm and cheerful, she deserves to be at the party."
As the two were talking, Chloe and Pete suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
"You won't believe it!" Chloe exclaimed excitedly, glancing at the dejected little black Pete, "Pete actually has someone who likes him."
"Hey!" Pete exclaimed, "I'm excellent too, okay?"
"Oh? Which girl?" Gino raised an eyebrow. "Did you give her an invitation?"
"Here you go, here you go." Pete rubbed his cheek and said, "I can't believe my eyes. The girl named Julie was still quite chubby yesterday, but when she asked me this morning if I could be her dance partner, she had lost a lot of weight."
"Like a slightly chubby beauty." Chloe crossed her arms and said what Pete wanted to say, but the girl's eyes were full of doubt: "But I can't think of anything that can make someone lose weight overnight."
Clark didn't have so many concerns; he just smiled and patted Pete on the shoulder: "Not bad, congratulations."
