Chapter 48 True Power
Chapter 48 True Power
Basement level -1.
The elevator doors slowly opened, and Tina timidly followed Gino out of the elevator.
Her eyes widened in disbelief at what she was seeing.
This is a vast experimental base.
Rows of experimental tanks are neatly arranged at the center of the base.
Scientists in white coats were busy working in an orderly fashion; the place was like an anthill, busy yet orderly.
"What, what are those two things?" Tina asked in horror, looking at the things soaking in the jar.
In the dark green nutrient solution, there was a headless corpse, completely naked and with pale skin.
The other corpse was as ugly and terrifying as a skinned zombie from a legend.
Gino scoffed, "You killed your own mother, yet you're afraid of two corpses. How amusing."
Tina lowered her head in silence. She wanted to explain that she had accidentally pushed her mother down the stairs, and that it was just an accident.
But when the words reached his lips, he couldn't say anything.
"Lex".
Gino approached the owner of the lab, whose bald head was easily recognizable in a crowd.
Lex glanced at Gino, then at Tina beside him, and raised an eyebrow. "Is this the girl?"
"That's right, she can transform into anyone she's ever seen." Gino shrugged. "Useful to me."
Gino's plan was simple: he would send the girl to Talia's side as an informant.
However, just as Gino was worried about Talia, he also needed to set limits for Tina.
Tina, standing to the side, kept her head down but listened intently, taking their conversation to heart.
She couldn't help but think back to the ten minutes earlier when Gino took out a camera to test her transformation ability.
From the woman in the camera, to Lana, Chloe, until she could no longer maintain her shapeshifting ability, the other party finally ended the experiment.
For a moment, Tina's little head was buzzing. She was somewhat afraid that the other party would leave her here as a sample for the laboratory.
"Let's begin then."
Lex waved his hand, and soon two scientists came over carrying a needle.
"Wait, what are you going to do to me? I, I don't want a shot." Tina looked terrified and kept shaking her head and backing away.
"Don't be nervous." Gino glanced at Tina and explained, "This needle contains a little gadget called a nanobomb."
"It will be inserted into your neck through the needle."
Gino smiled and spoke in the gentlest tone, but the words that sent chills down Tina's spine: "Afterwards, through satellite control, no matter where you are, as long as you press a button, the bomb in your neck can be detonated, blowing your head and body to pieces."
After saying that, Gino clenched his five fingers together and then opened them again, making a firework-like gesture.
To be honest, his idea came from a movie he watched in his previous life called "Suicide Squad".
Back then, Amanda, that old, fat black woman, used this trick to control a group of vicious anti-heroes to work for her.
Gino thought it was a great idea and told Lex about it not long ago after Talia left.
From now on, whenever we see someone who doesn't obey, we'll plant a nano-bomb inside that person's body, and then...
And his older brother lived up to expectations. Lex made full use of his wisdom, diligence and extraordinary wealth, and created the nanobomb in just one week. It was connected to Lex Group's satellite and could be remotely controlled anytime, anywhere.
"Nah, a nanobomb!?"
Tina, tears welling in her eyes, shook her head frantically: "No, I don't want to have something like that installed in my body, it's too terrifying."
Imagine if one day she lost her usefulness or knew too much, Gino could simply press a button and send her to hell.
The feeling of having her life in someone else's hands terrified Tina.
"Heh." Looking at the crying Tina, Gino shook his head with a smile: "Looks like you still don't understand."
Gino approached Tina and then raised his hand to slap her without any mercy.
"Snapped!"
The girl stumbled and fell to the ground, a red mark quickly appearing on her delicate face. She shook her head, feeling wronged, and brushed aside her messy hair. She saw Gino squatting down with a smile on his face, but his tone was icy as he said, "I'm not negotiating with you, this is an order."
This stupid woman doesn't even realize that his money isn't so easy to take.
Tina covered her cheek, bit her lip, and said, "I... I understand."
The girl slowly stood up and watched the two scientists walk towards her.
She was prepared to face her fate.
Having witnessed the horrors of this laboratory, Tina didn't believe Gino would deceive her.
"it hurts."
Tina rubbed her neck, unsure if it was just psychological. Ever since the needle pierced her skin, she had felt somewhat uncomfortable.
Gino ignored the resentful woman and took Tina back to his castle.
"Young Master."
The old butler came out to greet them.
Gino pointed at the girl:
"Her name is Tina, she's my classmate. Pick a room for her on the first floor, she'll stay here tonight."
"Okay." The old butler nodded and left with Tina, while Gino returned to his room, turned on his computer, and sent a message to Talia in his contacts.
Alcatraz Island.
Inside the secret headquarters of this assassin guild, in a cold stone cave, the guild leader, Lei Xiaogu, stared intently at the young man before him with his hawk-like eyes: "You want to learn martial arts? Why?"
"For myself," the young man said calmly, "for some things that must be done."
"interesting."
Lei Xiaogu hadn't seen a young man like this in a long time; he could see a flame burning in the young man's eyes.
A flame called Revenge, its temperature high enough to burn everything, stirred Lei Xiaogu's appreciation for talent. He nodded and sneered, "Then, go and accept the Alliance's introductory trial. As long as you survive, I will personally teach you martial arts."
The young man nodded and left.
After he left, Lei Xiaogu turned to look at the shadowy corner behind him: "What do you think of him?"
"How is it?" A figure emerged from the shadows, and under the moonlight, a pair of legs slowly walked towards Lei Xiaogu.
Shift your gaze upwards.
After a long absence, Talia's demeanor had become even colder.
A slight, cold smile curled at the corner of her lips. Her foolish father simply didn't understand what true strength was.
An invulnerable body, terrifying speed and reflexes, and an oppressive aura that inspires despair.
To be honest, Talia didn't see any trace of strength in the young man she had just met, but she knew she couldn't disobey her father.
So she smiled and said, "I agree with you, Leader."
Hearing the woman's reply, Lei Xiaogu snorted with satisfaction and waved for his daughter to leave.
