Chapter 45 Bank Robbery

early morning.

Kent Farm.

"Breaking news from Smallville: Around midnight local time, a large truck fully loaded with gasoline overturned on the highway and caught fire."

According to the local police investigation, the two deceased were a truck driver and a physical education teacher from a local high school. The physical education teacher was reportedly a very good rugby coach.

Jonathan put down his newspaper, a hint of sadness in his voice: "Another person in town has died."

Jonathan wasn't sure if it was just his imagination, but he always felt that someone in the town would die every now and then, as if they were under some kind of strange curse.

At the dinner table, Clark was visibly taken aback when he heard Coach Watt's name.

Recalling his encounter with Gino last night, a bad feeling crept into his mind.

It's highly likely that Coach Watt was ousted by Ginobili.

"I'm stuffed."

Clark sighed, ate the peanut sandwich in his hand, slung his backpack over his shoulder, and left the farm.

He seemed preoccupied, and the reason was quite simple.

Clark believes that Coach Watt was killed by Ginobili.

But Clark also felt that Gino must have had his reasons for killing Watt.

So Clark is in a dilemma. He wants to advise his friend not to kill indiscriminately, but when he thinks back to what happened with Gino, he feels that he has no right to ask Gino to do anything.

Clark tossed his backpack into the passenger seat, got into the driver's seat, and started the SUV that Gino had given him.

After his big argument with his adoptive father, Jonathan fixed the SUV in an effort to ease tensions between them.

Clark was just lucky; his punch shattered the water tank instead of the engine.

Small town.

"Dream" Bank is located in a yellow commercial storefront in the center of the town.

"Click".

The store door opened, and Gino, carrying a red backpack, walked into the bank with a wicked grin on his face.

"Mr. Gino?"

The bank manager, sitting in his office, hurriedly hung up the phone; the Luther family were VIPs of the local bank.

The chubby manager was somewhat surprised by the sudden arrival of the young man.

Generally speaking, if the other party needs money, all they have to do is make a phone call, and they will arrange for someone to deliver the money.

"How can I help you?"

The manager wore a warm smile, flashing a bright white tooth as he extended his hand in a friendly gesture.

"Well, it's nothing." Gino smoothed his hair, smiled, and shook hands with the manager. "I want to close my bank account and withdraw the money."

"What!?" Upon hearing Gino's words, the manager's face was filled with horror: "Please, is there anything you're dissatisfied with about our bank?"

Please tell me, we will definitely improve!

It's no wonder the manager was afraid; if the bank's biggest depositor left, his job as manager would be over.

"Why do I need to explain myself to you?" Gino frowned, staring coldly at the manager.

"Of course not."

The manager chuckled awkwardly, inwardly cursing his bad luck, and walked towards the counter: "How much money would you like to withdraw?"

"Okay, take them all out."

"all?"

The manager frowned and looked Gino up and down: "You have a full five hundred thousand dollars in your account. If you were to withdraw it all at once, you probably wouldn't be able to carry it all by yourself."

Gino's smile faltered slightly, and he stammered, "Then, shall we take out fifty thousand US dollars?"

The manager stared at Gino suspiciously, then quickly took out an accounting book: "Please sign here."

"OK."

Gino wrote his name in a crooked and shaky hand.

The manager picked up the check and glanced at Gino's handwriting from thirteen years ago in the cabinet.

The former is crooked and distorted, while the latter is vigorous and flowing.

These two characters don't look like they were written by the same person at all!

The manager narrowed his eyes slightly, his suspicions growing stronger.

He raised an eyebrow, his eyes fixed on Gino's face. "Mr. Gino, may I see your driver's license?"

Upon hearing the manager's words, Gino's expression stiffened for a moment, then he smiled and said, "Of course."

His hand reached for his backpack, and the next second...

"Whoosh!"

Gino gripped a gleaming black American-style iaido sword in his hand, his handsome face contorted with savagery: "Give me the money now! Immediately!"

"Buzz!"

Clark drove his SUV along the town's roads, a road he had traveled countless times before, leading to the school.

"Ring ring!"

The bank by the roadside sounded its piercing alarm.

"What happened?" Clark frowned and looked toward the roadside.

He saw his friend Gino running briskly, carrying a red backpack.

"Gino?"

Clark stopped the truck and stood in front of Gino: "What are you doing?"

Clark knew Gino; even when it came to running, Gino wouldn't be this slow.

"Get out of my way!" Gino glared at Clark, who was blocking his path, and shoved him away with both hands.

"Bang!" Before Clark could even react, his body flew backward, smashing the glass on the side of the road. He lay there rather disheveled among the mannequins, staring blankly at Gino's back.

Clark rubbed his eyes and saw the surrounding scene turn black and white. He saw a running skeleton, and what surprised Clark the most was that the skeleton was almost soaked in a dark green color, and was running further and further away with its backpack.

Clark scratched his head, brushed the shards of glass off his clothes, and muttered in confusion under the shop owner's murderous glare, "What happened?"

Smallville High School.

During the first indoor physical education class.

The substitute teacher clapped his hands and urged, "Hurry up, hurry up and climb up!"

"Today's task is to climb up and then climb down again, and that will count as completing the task."

Several thick hemp ropes were suspended high in the air, and the students climbed to the highest point and then came down according to the teacher's instructions.

The men and women were divided into two groups. At this moment, Clark said to Gino with a worried expression, "Something strange happened this morning. I saw you rob a bank."

"Me?" Gino chuckled at Clark's words, pointed to his cheek, and rubbed his temples. "I don't remember today being April Fool's Day. This joke isn't funny."

He, a member of the prestigious Daejeon family, a second-generation rich American, who would be a chaebol in South Korea, actually went and robbed a bank.

Gino joked, "Maybe someone is impersonating me."

Upon hearing Gino's words, Clark looked thoughtful: "Maybe it really is an imposter."

Clark leaned closer to Gino and asked mysteriously, "Gino, have you been doing 'that' lately?"

"What do you mean, 'that'?" Gino frowned and silently increased the distance between himself and Clark.

"Uh, it's just that I discovered I've awakened a new ability."

Clark moved closer to Gino and whispered to him what had happened that morning.

"After I discovered that I had gained the ability, I saw that the person's skeleton was green and smaller than that of an adult male. The imposter was impersonating you."

Hearing Clark's words, Gino's face lit up with interest: "Green bones? Interesting."
