Chapter 423 Your Pain
Chapter 423 Your Pain
This is an iron box.
Its entire surface is smooth, making it look like a flat, smooth cuboid.
"Is this made of iron, or...?"
Chloe reached out and touched the tin box, her face full of curiosity.
"I have no idea."
Lana shook her head. She glanced at the metal box, then looked away, taking out her phone from her pocket and making a call.
beep~
After a brief busy signal, the call was quickly answered, and Clark's voice came through the phone.
"What's wrong, Lana?"
Lana pursed her lips: "Here's a package for you. I wonder if it's from a member of the Justice League or Gino?"
"express delivery?"
Clark's voice on the other end of the phone sounded puzzled: "Who would send me a package?"
You know, I'm a speed demon. If I want something, I'll buy it immediately. And it's not Christmas yet, nor is it any special holiday. Why would someone send me a package?
Clark's curiosity was piqued.
"I don't know, maybe you can let me open it and take a look?" Before Lana could finish speaking, Clark had already appeared in front of the two women.
"Is this the package?"
Clark looked at the tin box with curiosity.
"Aren't you going to open it and take a look?" Chloe took out another chocolate bar and gently bit into it.
"No."
Clark shook his head and said, "We have to be careful, that's what Gino told me."
Of course, some of these experiences were lessons learned by Clark after suffering numerous setbacks.
He narrowed his eyes slightly: "Let me use my X-ray vision to take a look first."
Swish!
His eyes seemed to be covered with a layer of blue light, and the originally solid and invisible iron box became transparent, revealing the contents inside.
Clark stared wide-eyed at the contents of the metal box.
Curious, Lana moved closer to Clark, so close he could smell her clothes, and asked, "What did you see?"
"One, I don't know how to describe it, a starfish." Clark's expression was strange. He began to wonder who had given her the starfish. Could it be the little wolf girl?
As he thought about it, Clark gently grasped the metal box containing the starfish and gently broke it open.
"Click~"
A crisp sound echoed, and a limp starfish appeared in Clark's field of vision.
This starfish has a colorful sheen on its surface, making it look like a dreamlike scene and giving people a dreamlike feeling.
"Isn't it beautiful?"
Lana moved closer, reached out and grasped the soft starfish. She played with it in her hand before handing it to Clark.
"It feels great, try touching it."
"oh oh."
Clark scratched his head and took the starfish Lana handed him.
But at that moment, the starfish, which had been lying motionless in Clark's palm as if dead, suddenly sprang up and, like a bolt of lightning, slammed onto Clark's cheek with incredible speed.
"Starro~"
The starfish pressed against Clark's cheek let out a cryptic whisper, and before Clark could reach out to pull it off, his body suddenly stiffened, as if it were a pre-programmed sequence of events.
With his head raised and his legs kicking, Clark shot into the sky like a streak of light and disappeared from everyone's sight.
"My God, what happened?" Chloe was shocked. She couldn't believe her eyes. Clark had a starfish stuck to his face and then flew away as if he were being controlled.
"Oh no, oh no, this is a disaster! Clark has been kidnapped by the starfish!" Chloe frantically pulled out her phone and started dialing Gino's number.
Lana, standing to the side, was stunned by this sudden turn of events. She never expected that an ordinary-looking starfish would suddenly jump up and subdue Clark.
"Hey, I just saw Clark come over here. Where is he now?" Abby, the pretty girl, also came to the side of the two girls, but her gaze was more focused on Lana.
Putting everything else aside, the girl's intuition in certain matters was frighteningly sharp. She knew that Larry was her biggest rival, so she had to keep a close eye on Clark at all times.
"Clark," Lana stammered, "was controlled and flown away by a starfish pressed against his face."
Abby: ? ? ?
Do you think I'm easy to fool?
"I don't think you're easy to fool; I'm just telling the truth!"
The two women immediately started arguing, and it was clear that Abby could not agree with Lana's absurd words.
Just as the two women were arguing, Chloe's phone, which had been constantly busy, finally connected.
"Hello, this is Gino. What's up?"
The boy on the other end of the phone seemed to be drinking milk, and his voice sounded somewhat muffled as he spoke.
"Gino, it's me, Chloe."
"I know, we're classmates, aren't we?"
On the other end of the phone, Gino was leisurely lying on the sofa, looking up at the TV in his castle's living room, which was showing an analysis of Superman and his own abilities.
Gino found it amusing to watch these so-called experts give their serious analyses.
That's right.
Chloe hesitated for a moment, then said, "Clark was kidnapped by a starfish!"
"What?" Gino was completely bewildered. "Snatched by a starfish? Are you kidding me?"
He knew his friend's strength: superhuman power, absolute speed, and unparalleled reflexes. Even an alien starfish couldn't capture Clark; this guy could hold his own against Darkseid.
"Perhaps my description is not very accurate, but Clark was indeed stuck to his face by a starfish and flew away like a parasite."
"A starfish stuck to your face?"
Gino narrowed his eyes slightly, and distant memories began to surface in his mind. Soon, he had the relevant information in his head.
"Starro, an alien creature."
"A monster that can split and mutate, acquiring energy from parasitic organisms to strengthen itself."
"But how could this thing suddenly appear on Earth? If it wanted to appear on Earth silently, there's no way it could bypass the watchtower protection system that the Singer and I built, right?"
Filled with confusion, Gino still stood up, his sharp blue eyes scanning the surroundings before he quickly said into the phone, "I'll be there soon!"
After the call ended, Gino's image flickered as if in a still frame.
When it reappeared, it was standing in a wheat field a kilometer away.
"What happened?"
The sudden appearance of the boy interrupted the two girls' argument. They both looked at Gino, and under his imposing presence, they shut their mouths.
Gino squinted, his gaze fixed on the metal box:
"Chloe, tell me, where did my lousy friend go?"
