Chapter 390 Batman's Actions
Chapter 390 Batman's Actions
Gotham City.
Arkham Asylum.
Arkham Asylum is not called that; its full name is Elizabeth Arkham Asylum for Mental and Criminal Infectious Diseases.
Rather than calling it an asylum, it's more accurate to describe it as Batman's "abnormal human research institute" and a "gathering place for Batman's loyal fans."
You could even say, how can you tell if someone is a true Batman fan?
A: Just check his resume to see if there is a record of him studying at the "Assam Asylum".
Anyone who hasn't been to Arkham Asylum doesn't deserve to be called a true Batman fan.
Inside Arkham Asylum at this moment.
"Shut your stinking mouth, you two-faced bastard! If you flick your coin while I'm sleeping again, I swear I'll shove that coin right up your eyeball when we get out!"
Inside the iron cage made of countless reinforced concrete bars, Bane, bound into a shape like a dumpling by countless chains, stared fiercely at Two-Face in the opposite cage with his eyes that had turned green from overuse.
Two-Face was also a patient at Arkham Asylum.
It's a bit sad to talk about this person.
This man's real name is Harvey Dent, and he is one of the few prosecutors in Gotham City.
While other prosecutors were busy accepting bribes from the mob, he alone maintained his upright and incorruptible conduct, resolutely and firmly fighting against the dark forces of Gotham. He was even called the Knight of Light by the people of Gotham because of his noble character.
But Gotham City is like a fallen woman who is always eager to destroy any noble and virtuous person, dragging them down to become dark and hideous monsters.
During a court hearing, Harvey was targeted by the Gotham City mob as retaliation. They hired someone to throw acid in his face, disfiguring his handsome features.
The strong corrosiveness of the sulfuric acid turned half of the man's face into a pitted and twisted monster.
The Knight of Light of Gotham could not accept that he had become such a wretched and hateful figure.
And so, just like in most third-rate novels, he went mad. A wicked personality emerged from his disfigured face, who would always flip a coin to decide what to do and attribute it to fate.
"Heh, very good suggestion. My head is starting to ache now. Maybe I should flip a coin to decide whether to run or walk." The two-faced man shrugged indifferently, tossing the coin in his hand and watching it tumble into his palm.
"Bang bang bang!"
Next door, his cellmate—or rather, his fellow inmate, the Joker—was repeatedly banging his head against the wall, muttering strange phrases as he did so: "Batman loves me, Batman doesn't love me."
"What's wrong with him?" Seeing the Joker's reaction, Bane was a little curious. Staying in Mrs. Arkham Hospital, his freedom of movement was restricted all day long. All he did was eat and sleep. Bane was a little bored and watched the madman with green hair and skin that looked like he had been bleached frantically banging his head against the wall.
He remembered that the Joker had become like this ever since Batman captured him, muttering words of betrayal from time to time, looking like a wife betrayed by her husband.
"What else could it be?" Two-Face chuckled indifferently. Although he had a split personality, his intelligence remained intact: "Only Batman could turn the Joker into this. Perhaps Batman did something."
As the two chatted idly, near the exit, the agonizing roar of the Killer Croc suddenly echoed in their ears: "Damn bat, how dare you show your face here!"
As he spoke of his trump card, he slammed his massive body against the steel and concrete walls, creating a dull thud that startled many of the sleeping Arkham mental prisoners.
"What?"
"bat?"
Upon hearing the word "bat," many people immediately fell into a kind of inexplicable frenzy—perhaps anger, perhaps excitement—but all eyes were drawn to the iron gate at the entrance.
The dim light couldn't dispel the darkness, and a faint black shadow emerged from it. Even Bane's eyes widened, his breathing quickened, and his fingers clenched together, making a cracking sound.
"Baby bat!"
Yes, he couldn't be wrong, that's just how that damn Batman is.
Even from a great distance, he could smell the deep, dark scent.
"Splash!"
The black cloak brushed gently against the cold floor, making a soft rustling sound.
The Joker, who was banging his head against the wall, immediately looked up, his bloodshot eyes filled with fanatical excitement: "Batman, is that you! Batman? You've finally come to play with me?"
"Damn Batman, let me out, I'm going to crush your head!"
What is the most distinctive feature of Arkham Asylum? It's that almost 99% of the prisoners there were brought in by Batman himself.
If these guys were like figurines, Batman would have collected a whole warehouse of them.
People were shouting, but Batman maintained his unchanging icy expression, silently watching the clamor of these villains.
Batman always seems to be good at dealing with this situation, or rather, no one can accept the feeling of being subjected to passive-aggressive treatment.
Batman's silence prompted the villains to also fall silent. In fact, they would have been happy if Batman had argued with them, but ignoring him was just too hurtful!
So, the most frustrated ones fell silent, intending to listen to what Batman had to say.
They were all on high alert, and everyone was eagerly anticipating what was to come.
Batman smirked, as if he had thought of something amusing, and said, "I'm afraid we'll never see each other again."
All the criminals: ! ? ?
"Batman, what do you mean?!" Two-Face was the first to speak, and even his cellmate Joker looked at Batman with some confusion, wondering what kind of trouble his nemesis was up to.
"My fellow Justice League members and I have faced an unprecedented crisis and a powerful enemy."
Batman continued speaking to himself, but the group of criminals' eyes lit up when they heard this. Didn't this mean that Batman was going to suffer?
"Then I wish you ribs and bones to be broken by those alien creatures!" Bane cursed as he offered his blessing.
Despite the accusations from numerous former adversaries, Batman remains silent.
Only after most of the criminals had finished their tirade did he calmly say, "I don't think I'll be coming back alive this time."
"As you know, I spend most of my time dealing with you. I catch you, you escape, and I catch you again. This repetitive game sometimes gets tiring, and perhaps it should end here."
