Chapter 39 Holding
Chapter 39 Holding
Time passes neither too fast nor too slow, but it slips away unnoticed through our fingers.
Gray held a slip of paper in his hand, then tied the letter to the bug and controlled it to fly towards Luther Castle.
Having done all this, a smile appeared on Gray's greasy white face, and he closed his eyes with satisfaction.
It felt amazing to be using his brain; he thought he was the smartest person in his town.
After consuming the flesh and blood of Gino and Clark and absorbing their genes, he will become stronger.
As he thought about it, he could vaguely feel insects wriggling under the dough of the Ge Rui noodles.
"Thump!"
The spiderwebs outside the steel factory were disturbed, and Gray suddenly opened his eyes, a mocking smile playing on his lips: "They're here."
Although he didn't understand why Gino had arrived so quickly, Gray was already getting impatient.
"Bang!"
Like an insect falling from the sky, Gray's legs slammed heavily onto the iron plate on the ground with a dull thud.
Gray crouched low, like a nimble dung beetle hiding behind a thick steel pipe.
This location offers perfect surveillance of the entire ironworks and is a blind spot at the entrance, making it ideal for ambushes and hunts.
"Well."
Hanging in mid-air, Clark's face turned green. He opened his mouth, trying to shout to warn Gino, but he was too weak and in pain to make a sound. He could only watch helplessly as Gray's arms transformed into sharp forelimb blades.
Clark's big eyes were filled with helplessness; he couldn't let his friend die because of him!
The surroundings were quiet, except for Clark's painful groans, the buzzing of spider webs in the wind, and the slow, heavy footsteps approaching.
"Huff huff"
Gray's breathing quickened, his hands gripping the kryptonite tightly; he was ready.
The moment Gino showed his face, he pounced on him and pressed the kryptonite against Gino's body. At that moment, the guy would collapse to the ground, weakened, just like Clark.
"Da da".
The footsteps grew closer, and the owner of the voice seemed anxious.
Close, closer!
Just as Gray was tense and ready to pounce like a mantis, the footsteps suddenly stopped.
"What happened?"
Gray frowned, but before he could react, a metal can flew out from a distance, its terrifying speed turning it into a blur as it hurtled toward Gray's face.
"Bang!"
Grey was hit before he could react.
The heavy iron can hitting his face made Gray's head spin, and a tooth shattered, the broken tooth gushing out of Gray's mouth along with the blood and foam.
He couldn't understand why he had been discovered while hiding in the shadows.
His body slammed heavily onto the steel pipe, and out of the corner of his eye, Gray saw the metal can smash to the ground, and then...
"Bang!"
The iron can suddenly exploded, and the next second, countless dense and viscous green gases surged out, sweeping through the entire factory like a tsunami.
"What?"
Gray instinctively took a deep breath.
"Whoosh!"
Green gas rushed into his trachea along with the air.
"what!"
His internal organs felt as if they were being burned by fire, and the intense pain caused Gray to let out a piercing scream.
It itches, it itches so much, my whole body is itchy.
Gray waved his arms, frantically scratching his itchy skin.
The sharp claws pierced the skin, cutting through the flesh beneath, and fresh blood flowed out.
Under Gray's relentless scratching, the once menacing Gray quickly turned himself into a bloody mess!
"This gas!"
Gray's body trembled uncontrollably, and he felt dizzy and disoriented.
"I have to get out of here!"
Gray trembled as he tried to stand up.
But what happened next filled Gray with even more despair.
"Swish!"
Dozens of identical metal cans were dropped from the shadows, and another thick cloud of fog spewed out from the cans.
The green gas permeated the air, turning the entire ironworks into a "green sea" that made it impossible to discern directions.
"Damn Gino Luther!" Gray screamed in agony. As the fog thickened, his skin began to crack and break apart, and countless dead cockroaches and flies poured out of his flesh.
Feeling pain, weakness, and exhaustion all over his body, Gray was now experiencing the same pain Clark was going through.
In the thick fog, Gray suddenly heard a heavy breathing sound.
"Huff, huff."
The figure appeared to be wearing a protective suit, with a gas mask and a silver-gray protective suit. He was walking slowly toward Gray with his hands behind his back.
Gino isn't in a hurry at all, really.
Five minutes earlier, after guessing Gray's location using a map, he rushed to the factory to investigate. When he discovered Gray hiding in the factory and Clark hanging in mid-air, Gino did not rush in to rescue them.
He first spent two seconds running to his own company to find Lex and get dozens of gene bombs targeting Gray from Lex before leisurely arriving here and "delivering" all of these gene bombs to Gray.
At this moment, Gino, wearing a lead protective suit, looked with great interest at the blood-soaked man, Gray, who resembled a monster.
"You look terrible?"
Gino smiled and approached. He knew that Gray had Kryptonite, so he had put on a heavily made lead protective suit before coming, which could naturally protect him from the effects of Kryptonite.
Given that Gray was already close to death, Gino wasn't worried about him piercing his protective suit, so he stood two meters away from Gray without fear, coldly mocking him.
"Shameless bastard!" Gray's not-so-bright brain had already guessed what the green smoke was—some kind of "insecticide" specifically targeting him.
"Thank you for the compliment."
Gino leisurely toyed with the last bottle of insecticide in his hand, and slowly walked towards Gray like a villain, saying, "Last time, Clark foolishly let you go."
"Now he's hanging in the sky, and no one can save you."
Hearing Gino's words, Gray struggled to open his pus-filled eyes, his gaze falling on Clark in the air with mixed feelings.
If I hadn't tied Clark up, would I still have any hope of escaping?
"Don't look at me like that, you don't deserve it," Gino said with a smile, while mercilessly grabbing Gray's chin.
With just a gentle pinch, the chin, which had already crumbled into pieces, opened up.
"Hmm, harder, take it in." Gino gripped the tin can and shoved the insecticide into Gray's mouth, which looked like a monster.
Then, under Gray's horrified and desperate gaze, the boy gently turned on the switch.
"Pfft~"
As the valve opened, countless wisps of green smoke flowed into Gray's body through his mouth.
In the last second before his consciousness dissipated, Gray heard Gino chuckle: "I wonder if Lex can still study this corpse now that it's rotten like this."
This demon even considered what to do with his own corpse after he died.
