Chapter 386 Intelligence
Chapter 386 Intelligence
In the boundless universe.
"Whoosh!"
Two beams of light, one blue and one red, streaked across the silent universe.
"Alright, just stand here and don't move forward!"
Clark stopped and floated slowly in mid-air, gazing at the distant scenery.
In the vast expanse of space, a silver-white spaceship was speeding toward the two of them, trailing a streak of light, with the beautiful blue Earth behind them.
"That's... a spaceship?"
Shazam placed his hands on his eyebrows, gazing into the distance. He subconsciously looked at Clark beside him, and it was clear that Clark held the dominant position between the two.
Shazam asked in confusion:
"What should we do?"
Clark crossed his arms, stared blankly at the approaching spaceship, pursed his lips, and mimicked Gino's usual demeanor as he said, "This thing is coming for us."
"So what should we do now?"
Shazam scratched his head, looked down at the white lightning bolt symbol on his chest, and then repeated the question, clenching his fist and feeling the divine power surging within him.
For a moment, Shazam was actually quite eager to go forward and check the situation inside the spaceship.
He felt that with himself and Clark, two of the Alliance's top combatants, investigating a spaceship would be a piece of cake.
Although the Justice League doesn't have many members, who says baby Shazam doesn't want to "make a name for himself" and impress the veterans of the Justice League?
But Clark sensed the restlessness in the boy's heart. He grabbed the boy's wrist and then gazed leisurely at the spaceship not far away.
Clark felt a pang of emotion. The current bandit leader was just as young and reckless as he was a year ago, always trying to prove himself through action, but sometimes he would just end up causing trouble.
Even with his own X-ray vision, he couldn't see through the ship's outer metal shell, which meant that this ship was not simple.
Clark began by saying:
"Don't be impulsive, Shazam. You don't want to be punished by Gino and made to clean toilets, do you?"
The straw toilet that Clark mentioned was a punishment that Gino used to punish members who disobeyed orders.
Of course, you can also choose the latter, which is to serve a week on duty.
However, Shazam is just a primary school student named Billy who goes to school every day, let alone on duty for a week.
"Okay, I understand."
Upon hearing Gino's name, Shazam scratched his nose and stopped making a sound.
Although he was a reckless teenager, he, like everyone else, still held Gino in awe.
"Let's go, there's no need to look any further. Let's return to the watchtower and report this news to them."
Clark took another deep look at the spaceship, but just then, two more lights appeared not far behind the spaceship.
"What happened?"
Clark frowned as he looked over.
Behind the silver spaceship, a dark gold spaceship and a white spaceship were chasing after it.
Through the transparent glass cabin, Superman saw a woman wearing a silver helmet sitting inside the white spaceship, while a tall, muscular man with a wicked grin sat in the cabin next to her.
The man, dressed in a purple battle suit and wearing a ridiculous headdress resembling bull horns, was staring at the spaceship he was chasing with a wicked grin.
"Something seems off; they're here to chase that guy."
Clark pondered, and based on his experience fighting criminals in Smallville and Metropolis, he could tell from the smiles on these two men's faces that they were no good people.
So should I stop him?
After much deliberation, Clark made up his mind.
"Buzz!"
The heat rays shooting from their eyes struck the two propulsion engines at the bottom of the spaceship, and the two people inside the spaceship showed expressions of horror the moment the engines were shot down.
The two spaceships were almost out of control, falling into the distance and disappearing into the vast universe.
Taking advantage of the gap in the two spaceships' descent, the fleeing silver spaceship remained as menacing as it flew towards Earth, not far away.
"Whatever that thing is, we can't let it land on Earth!"
Clark moved with lightning speed, his red cape fluttering, and appeared in front of the spaceship in an instant. Then, the son of Krypton stood tall, blocking the spaceship's path.
"Bang!"
A pair of massive, steel-like hands gripped the front of the spaceship, the two forces intertwining and colliding before being abruptly stopped by Clark.
"Snapped!"
Clark pressed down on the spaceship's engine and gently pulled it open. Inside the cockpit, he saw a man in a golden suit lying weakly inside the spaceship.
"Cough cough."
The masked figure slowly raised its head, revealing a pair of human eyes.
He stared intently at Clark, and then, upon seeing the big boy, a deep, ecstatic look spread across his face.
Clutching his wounded right abdomen, Scott never imagined that he would encounter Superman, one of the Justice League's leaders, while piloting his spaceship to escape Earth.
"Superman!"
Scott's eyes gleamed with excitement: "I never expected to see you here!"
"Who are you?" Upon hearing the other person speak English, Clark remained on guard, but the red beam in his eyes slowly dimmed.
The ability to communicate implies a certain level of rationality.
"I... my name is Scott, yes..."
Scott pondered how he should answer Clark.
He didn't know who he was, or rather, he didn't know how to define his identity.
Is he a newcomer to Apokolips? Having grown up in Apokolips and been oppressed and enslaved since childhood, Scott has no feelings for Apokolips, so he is not an Apokolips person.
But the new Creation Star abandoned him, the Father abandoned him, and he was discarded by them like unwanted trash. Therefore, Skect did not recognize himself as a member of the Creation Star.
But only on Earth, and only on Earth, can he feel joy and warmth.
Whether it's food, entertainment, or culture, Earth, this insignificant planet that doesn't even rank among the top in the universe, always manages to amaze Scott. Although Earth may not be advanced, it gives Scott a strong sense of belonging.
So, after a brief silence, Sterling gave his answer: "My name is Scott, and I'm an Earthling!"
Clark: ?! Earthlings in outer space?
Almost instantly, Clark realized that things were not as simple as they seemed.
"Shazam, take him with you, we're going to the watchtower right now!"
Clark spread his arms to envelop the two of them in his bio-field, and then the three of them flew towards the distant watchtower like a streak of light.
The watchtower, floating silently in space, looks like a giant prismatic cone from a distance, exuding an aura of mystery.
