Chapter 37 Gray's Plan

late at night.

Inside a gym filled with metal equipment, a figure sat on a bench, slowly swinging a dumbbell in his hand.

"what!"

He frowned and strained his arms to lift the dumbbell.

But a sharp pain came from the bone that had been set at the hospital.

"hiss."

Whitney gasped, the pain preventing him from gripping the dumbbells properly. With a loud thud, the dumbbells crashed to the floor.

"Shit!"

Whitney roared as she stood up, angrily kicking the dumbbell away. The image of Gino’s cold face flashed through her mind, his eyes filled with resentment.

"Gino Luther! I will get my revenge!"

If it weren't for Gino, he would still be the captain of the football team and a popular figure on campus.

"interesting."

A cold voice sounded behind her, startling Whitney. She shuddered and her gaze fell on the transparent glass.

He saw a man in a black jacket standing behind him with his arms crossed.

"Grey, Grey?"

Whitney was somewhat surprised by Gray's transformation. The once short and ugly man had not only grown taller, but his face had also become smooth and soft.

But then he remembered the news that had spread throughout town that afternoon: Mrs. Ted had been murdered, and the killer seemed to be her son, Gray.

I'm with a murderer!

"What...what do you want to do?"

My body trembled uncontrollably, my teeth chattered, and fear grew in my heart, as if countless ghosts were surrounding me, making the air in the room several degrees colder.

Grey waved his hand: "Hehe, don't be nervous, Whitney."

He licked his lips: "I originally planned to eat you to regain my strength, but I've changed my mind."

"You hate Gino, and I hate him too, but we're friends."

As he spoke, Gray, in a very familiar manner, opened the refrigerator in Whitney's house, picked up a piece of raw, cold beef, and put it in his mouth to chew and swallow.

Whitney also dislikes Ginobili, which leads Gray to decide to let Whitney go.

After eating and drinking his fill, Gray wiped the raw meat bits from the corner of his mouth.

"I hope you keep what happened tonight to yourself."

After giving Whitney a cruel look, Gray slowly pushed open the window.

"Wait a minute!" Whitney gritted her teeth, forcing back her fear, and said, "You mean you hate Gino? What about Clark?"

Gray frowned slightly, his neck twisting a terrifying 180 degrees to stare at Whitney, and under her terrified gaze, he said in a low voice, "I hate it too."

As a rival in love, how could Gray not see the love Clark had for Lana? But Lana was his, and any man who dared to lay a finger on her would die!

"Alright, I can help you." Whitney's gaze gradually hardened.

"help me?"

Gary scoffed, looking Whitney up and down as if she were a piece of indescribable garbage.

"Wait, I know Clark's weakness!" Whitney saw the contempt in Gray's eyes, but he still forced himself to speak, "My ex-girlfriend used to have a necklace."

"Shut up!" Gray frowned, pointing at Whitney with his arm. "Call her by her name!"

Whitney gritted her teeth: "Okay, Lana used to wear an emerald necklace all the time, and I noticed that whenever Lana got close to Clark, his face would turn deathly pale."

"It seems," Whitney recalled each time Lana approached Clark, "that Clark always seemed very weak when he was near Lana."

"Until this morning when Lana and I broke up, she met Clark, but Clark wasn't affected at all."

"And that day, Lana happened to lose her necklace."

Whitney offered her own reasoning, and it was logically sound.

As he listened to Whitney's explanation, Gray raised an eyebrow, recalling the scenes of observing Lana every day. It seemed that Clark would become weak whenever Lana approached wearing that necklace.

Recalling the scene of being brutally beaten by Gino tonight, Clark's ability to withstand a punch from Gino meant that the other party was no ordinary person either.

As he pondered this, a wicked plan began to take shape in Gray's mind.

A cruel smile curled at the corner of his lips as Gray stared at Whitney and said, "Describe in detail what the necklace looks like."

Whitney paused for a moment and said, "Lana told me that the necklace was a keepsake left to her by her family, and every night it would emit a dazzling green light. It looked like agate, or like jade, a very peculiar stone."

As Whitney's description became clearer, Gray couldn't help but smile, thinking of the similar stones in his own glass tank where he cultivated insects.

"I understand." Gray interrupted Whitney abruptly, then leaped away and disappeared into the night outside the window.

Run, run like crazy.

The road beneath my feet, the trees around me, the air around me.

Everything rushed past me at an incredibly fast speed.

The wind whipped his short sleeves, sending gusts of wind through them, and Clark swung his arms back and forth, his movements like a bullet whistling through the air in the pitch-black night.

Clark ran aimlessly.

His eyes were glazed over, and memories kept flashing through his mind.

Gino's anger, Lana's disappointment, Gray's mockery, and the father's admonition.

"I'm such an idiot!"

Suddenly, Clark stopped in his tracks, his still body causing a slight breeze to rustle the branches and leaves of a distant tree.

"what!"

Clark raised his fist and slammed it hard into the tree trunk.

"Bang!"

The terrifying force instantly shattered the tree trunk, sending wood chips flying everywhere.

Clark frantically swung his fists, punching the broken tree trunk.

"What should I do? What's the right thing to do?"

His father told him to be a kind person, to respect life, and to protect the weak.

But Gino told him that he should show no mercy to his enemies and kill them all.

The clash between two different ideologies left Clark's young mind filled with confusion.

He could only vent his anger on himself. Although he said things like "I'll handle it myself," he had no idea how to investigate Gray's whereabouts, let alone catch him.

Therefore, Clark can only blame himself for not being decisive enough and not being smart enough.

"Clap clap clap!"

The fist struck the tree trunk with a muffled thunderous sound that traveled far and wide through the air.

Until the poor tree could no longer withstand the Kryptonians' furious blows, it quickly turned into a pile of broken wood chips, which were then blown away by the breeze.

"Huff huff"

Clark clenched his fist, closed his eyes, and breathed heavily.

"Feeling terrible?"

A voice sounded from behind.

Clark's eyes narrowed, and without turning his head, he grabbed a tree trunk and threw it behind him.

Clark turned around and coldly stared at Gray's shadowy figure in the moonlight.

"Murderer, how dare you show your face in front of me?"

"It's because I miss you, Clark, of course."

With an exaggerated twist and turn of his waist and abdomen, Gray dodged the wooden spikes that came flying at him like javelins, a wicked smile on his face. Then, he pulled out several stones that shimmered with green light from his pocket.

"I'm sure you'll like the little gift I brought you."
