Chapter 36 The Reckless Clark
Chapter 36 The Reckless Clark
"Bang bang bang!"
The rhythmic, beat-like sounds echoed through the room.
Wood chips flew everywhere as Gino moved so fast that Gray, whom he was holding, became a blur.
"Bang!"
Another violent impact left Gray lying quietly on the broken wooden planks, his face bruised and swollen, blood trickling from his face and mouth.
"To be honest, you disgust me."
Gino stretched out a foot and gently stomped on Gray's face, grinding it back and forth.
Clark remained silent, but his gaze toward Gino held a familiar look; he had seen that expression before by the bridge.
"Your mother raised you for 18 years, only to be killed by you in return." Gino sneered, looking down at Gray, grabbing Gray by the collar and raising his fist in Gray's terrified gaze.
"Click-clack".
Gino clenched his fist, the immense power emanating from his arm causing the veins to bulge.
An inexplicable fear rose in Gray's heart. If he were punched in the head, he would surely die!
"Die." Gino uttered two words, pronouncing Gray's fate.
He could have kept Gray and dumped him on Lex, letting Lex lock the guy up in the dark, deep underground lab built beneath his factory, but he didn't want the thing to live.
"Whoosh!"
The enormous fist gradually magnified in Gray's eyes, getting closer and closer.
"No, don't kill me!" Gray screamed.
Just as the fist was about to land on Gray's cheek.
"Snapped!"
A hand struggled to block Gino's fist.
The collision of fists and palms even created a huge shockwave that spread outwards into the air.
The scorching wind made Gray squint.
When he opened his eyes, he discovered that the person who had saved him was Clark.
Since he didn't understand why this fool had stopped his friend, it didn't stop him from preparing for his escape.
"Wait a minute, Gino, we can't kill him. We should hand him over to the law for trial." Clark looked at Gino with a serious expression. He couldn't bear to watch a living person die before his eyes.
Gino turned his gaze and coldly fixed it on Clark:
"Clark, I'll only say this once: let go."
Looking at Gino's cold eyes, Clark felt a chill in his heart, but he still forced himself to raise his head and said, "We are just ordinary citizens and have no right to judge whether he lives or dies."
"Oh."
Gino smiled and shook his head, saying, "So what do you think will happen to him if we hand him over to the police?"
Gino ignored Clark's hesitation and continued, "He will be secretly imprisoned in the military's experimental base, where every change in his body will be studied. He will eventually die on the experimental table, and then this town will never have peace again."
"The military will do everything they can to uncover the secrets of this town."
"So, I'm killing him now for his own good, and for everyone's good." Gino smiled considerately. "So, don't stop me."
"No, we can't kill people." Clark didn't back down and opened his mouth to argue with Gino.
Just as Clark was about to speak, Gray, who had been lying on the ground with his eyes half-closed and a dying expression, suddenly leaped up.
He jumped very high, leaping onto Clark's head:
"Ha, you two idiots!"
Gray let out a sneer. If Clark hadn't bought him time, he wouldn't have had time to change his body structure and complete his escape plan.
Gray spread his arms, and his black jacket fluttered even without wind.
Suddenly, his body exploded, transforming into a swarm of flies buzzing towards the second floor and escaping through the shattered glass window.
All of this happened in just one second.
Gino was helpless as he watched the swarm of hundreds of flies disappear into the night.
"He...he ran away?"
Clark looked like he'd seen a ghost, clearly not expecting Gray to be able to transform into a swarm of insects and escape.
"Yes, thanks to you."
Shake off Clark's hand.
Gino retorted sarcastically, "Thanks to your help, several more innocent people will die at his hands."
To be honest, Clark is a good friend—kind, shy, and gentle, but too kind in some ways.
"To be merciful to the enemy is to be cruel to oneself."
"I…"
Before Clark could finish speaking, seeing Clark's guilty face, Gino couldn't suppress his anger and swiftly swung his fist.
"Bang!"
The fist landed squarely on Clark's face, causing him to stagger backward, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.

The punch landed on Clark's face, causing his cheek to sting with pain.
But if you're wrong, you have to admit it; if you get punished, you have to stand up straight.
It was my fault for letting Gray escape, putting everyone in danger.
So Clark moved his lips, but in the end he didn't say anything and hung his head in frustration.
"Are you all alright?"
Lana, looking nervous, clutched a pillow in her arms as she surveyed the mess in her living room. She was worried that her aunt would definitely kill her when she returned.
But none of that matters. Lana pursed her lips and said, "Did you catch him? I just saw a swarm of flies fly out of my room."
Gino didn't speak, he just looked up at the huge hole that had been torn open above his head.
Clark couldn't stand the silence, coupled with the fact that he had acted so foolishly that evening.
Driven by his pride, Clark lowered his head and murmured, "I'll take responsibility for this."
After saying that, Clark covered his head and rushed out of the house, moving so fast that he became a blur.
"This!?" Lana could hardly believe her eyes. "How can Clark be so fast..."
"You don't need to know, just remember to keep it a secret." Gino glanced indifferently at Lana, then took out his phone and dialed a number: "Hey, Lex, I need your help."
Twenty minutes later.
Lana hugged her pillow and watched the construction crew come and go from her house.
Thankfully, Lana's aunt went to officiate at Mrs. Ted's funeral tonight, otherwise Lana felt her ears would have suffered terribly.
"Ugh."
Lana sighed inwardly, then turned her gaze to the figure standing under the crooked tree in the distance.
"So, you want the chemical plant to produce some pesticides?" Lex asked with a strange expression.
Gino shook his head and stated his request:
"This is not a regular insecticide, but a concentrated and heavily dosed one to ensure that all insects within a 100-meter radius are killed."
"It's a bit troublesome, but not a big problem." Lex rubbed his chin. "Remember to leave that guy's body for me; my experiment is showing some promise."
Gino knew Lex was referring to the lab, and nodded in agreement.
"So what are you planning to do next?" Lex pulled a cigarette out of his pocket and lit it. In just a few seconds, his clever mind had already figured out how to make an "insecticide".
