Chapter 352 Mysterious Man

Midday.

Jesse remained lingering at a bar counter, one hand supporting his chin, the other idly twirling the ice cubes in his glass.

Another day of hedonistic living, and he always felt that this was how his life would always be.

Being a fake, incompetent missionary, just loafing around and waiting to die, that's about it.

Neither good nor bad?

As I was thinking this, the bar door was pushed open again.

"A glass of whiskey and a glass of milk."

The voice sounded rather young, and Jesse casually glanced up at it.

A tall young man wearing a cowboy hat from the Wild West era walked into the bar.

It has to be said that even Jesse, who likes to give the middle finger to everyone, couldn't help but widen his eyes the moment he saw this boy.

The reason is simple: this guy is too good-looking.

The young man sat down next to Jesse, gazing at him with a faint smile on his face.

At the same time, Jesse suddenly found that his body was trembling uncontrollably.

At the same time, a voice inside him seemed to be frantically urging him to escape.

Jesse was baffled. He found himself terrified of this young man he had only met once.

It seemed as if the other party possessed some kind of energy that I feared, but they just looked like an ordinary human being.

Good evening, please have a drink.

Seeing the drink offered by the young man, Jesse didn't stand on ceremony. He raised an eyebrow and downed the drink in one gulp.

"Jesse."

"Peter."

The bartender brought over drinks, and the boy pushed the whiskey, which was full of liquor, to Jesse, while he picked up the milk and took a big gulp.

Jesse was even more puzzled by the guy's act of buying milk at the bar. He thought to himself that this guy was an interesting person, or rather, an eccentric person.

"Hey, what did I just see?"

It seems that no matter where you go, there will be some annoying bugs and rotten people around you.

Upon seeing the boy order a glass of milk at the bar, several thugs at the next table burst into mocking laughter.

"Kid, bars are places to drink, not places for you to suckle!"

"If I were you, I'd better be smart and put down that glass of milk, then get out of here!"

It seems that alcohol always numbs people's thinking, making them more confused and irritable.

A group of men at the next table stood up with malicious smiles on their faces.

"Hey, what he drinks is none of your business!"

Jesse was a little annoyed. Although the two had only just met, he was determined not to let these jerks mess with his new friend, just because the other party had offered him drinks.

"Jesse, this is none of your business, don't meddle!"

"Excuse me, but as a missionary, I just like to meddle in other people's business." Jesse rubbed his neck, looking defiant.

The battle quickly broke out, with Jesse displaying his arrogant nature by taking on four opponents single-handedly.

With left and right hooks, combined with footwork, he quickly overwhelmed the men, leaving them defenseless.

"this one?"

After knocking one person down with his final punch, Jesse smiled dismissively.

What level is he? He doesn't even deserve to fight Jesse one-on-one.

"You should all run home crying to your mothers and beg for milk!"

Jesse laughed and shook his head in a joke.

But upon hearing his words, the four men who had been lying on the ground groaning immediately stood up straight as if they had been roused, and then rushed out of the tavern like madmen.

"Huh?" Jesse looked bewildered. Why were these guys running so fast?

This wasn't the first time he'd fought with this group, but today these guys seemed to have some important family business to attend to.

"Tsk tsk, you've accomplished another feat without even knowing it."

On the other side, the boy who called himself Peter also finished his milk, his eyes under his blond hair full of mockery.

"What do you mean?"

Jesse was somewhat puzzled.

The other party did not state it directly, but rather implied:

"Perhaps you could ask the people around you how Mr. Ron, who prayed to you this morning, is doing."

Jesse scratched his head, then went to ask the nearest well-informed man.

But the result shocked Jesse.

"You mean Ron? That guy must have gone crazy this morning, ran home, grabbed a fruit knife, ripped open his chest, and pulled out his heart to give to his mother."

"His mother was completely terrified after witnessing this horrific scene."

The man at the table shook his head with a sigh: "Maybe he's just another pathetic guy who's taken too many drugs."

"what?"

After listening to the man's story, Jesse looked completely bewildered.

Open your heart?

"What does this have to do with me?" Jesse looked at the boy in confusion, trying to get some inspiration from him.

"Have you forgotten?" The blond boy smiled, "He asked you for advice this morning, and you suggested that he open up and talk to his mother."

"Then he did as you suggested."

Listening to the other person's story, Jesse's eyes widened, but he quickly shook his head: "That's unrealistic. I'm not God, I don't do whatever he says."

"Oh, although you are not, the power within you allows you to do this."

The other person smiled and looked at the skeptical Jesse, saying, "If you don't believe me, you can try it and see if what I said is true."

"Alright," Jesse said, looking at the boy, "Stand up and dance for me!"

Without any reaction, the boy remained calm and unperturbed, completely unaffected by Jesse.

"See? I told you it didn't work! You're lying to me again!" Jesse's eyes widened, and her face turned somewhat ugly.

He never imagined that he would actually believe the other person's crazy talk.

"Is there a possibility?" The boy stroked his chin with a half-smile, "I'm actually much more powerful than that thing inside you, so it doesn't have the authority to control me."

"Powerful? Who are you?" Jesse frowned.

"That's a good question, but to make it easier for you to understand..."

"You can think of me as Lucifer."

"Lucifer? Son of the Morning Star, the first dragon in the world, the first man under God?"

Although he was only a half-baked missionary, Jesse had read the Bible quite a bit and naturally knew who Lucifer was.

"So you should find someone else."

Jesse nodded, his gaze fixed on the bartender behind the bar counter, and said in a low voice, "Buy me three whiskeys."

He spoke as if nothing was wrong, but the security guard's pupils contracted involuntarily, and then, to Jesse's astonishment, he brought over three glasses of whiskey.

He didn't know how he managed to take the drinks and drink them all in one gulp, but the man could feel his heartbeat gradually quickening and his breathing becoming heavy.

It turns out what they said was true!
