Chapter 33 Investigation

Grey's house is located on the west side of the town, and not far from his house is an abandoned factory.

Because of the environmental pollution caused by the factory in its early days, the neighbors moved away long ago, leaving only the Grey family's house standing alone in this area, appearing empty and lonely.

Pete led the group to stand outside the Grey family's house:

"This is the Grey family home."

Gino stood there, looking around the room.

This is a small two-story house with white painted walls. The wooden door at the entrance is closed, and the glass is tightly shut, making it impossible to see what's inside.

Lana looked very excited. The girl rushed forward and reached out to knock on the door.

"Mrs. Ted, are you home?"

"Mrs. Ted?"

No one answered; only Lana's voice echoed around.

Lana's face was full of anxiety; she desperately wanted to know if Gray had taken a picture of her without her knowledge.

"Bang bang bang".

The door was knocked on so hard it shook, and a few specks of dust fell from the eaves.

Chloe sighed and crossed her arms, saying, "I heard that Gray's father died in a mining accident, and their house hasn't been cleaned in a long time."

Lana's shouts went unanswered.

The house was quiet, as if the owner had gone out and was not at home.

"Move aside." Gino pushed Lana aside with a calm expression and walked to the door.

"Snapped!"

Gino stretched out his arm, his fist moving so fast it became a blur.

The wooden door, only a few centimeters long, was easily shattered by Gino's single punch, as if it were made of paper.

"Oh My God!"

Lana stared in surprise at the large hole in the door, instinctively covering her mouth, and looked at Gino's arm with some concern: "Won't this hurt?"

Lana instinctively reached out to grab Gino's arm to check.

"no problem."

Gino glanced indifferently at Lana as she stopped her.

The girl awkwardly withdrew her hand, watching Gino, who seemed to feel no pain, fumble for the switch inside the door with his right hand.

Soon, my index finger touched the cool little thing.

"Found it."

Gino gripped the bolt; the door appeared to be locked from the inside.

"Smack."

Hold the latch inside the room with two fingers and pull it gently.

"Squeak~"

The old door opened slowly with a sickening thud, revealing the scene inside to everyone.

Sunlight streamed into the room from behind the group, revealing numerous dust particles floating in the air.

A musty, rotten smell permeated the air inside the room, drifting out through the open door and causing the people to instinctively cover their noses.

Everyone went inside together.

"How long has it been since this place was cleaned?" Xiao Hei asked, looking at the messy living room.

Broken lampshades were scattered haphazardly in the living room.

The overturned sofa and broken glass shards seemed to silently tell of some unhappy events that had occurred here.

Moreover, Gino even smelled a faint scent of blood in the air.

Gino and Clark exchanged a glance, both understanding each other's thoughts.

Something doesn't seem right about this.

"What's on the table?"

Chloe, being observant, noticed a stack of videotapes on the set-top box.

"Put it in and see."

Gino glanced at the television and watched Chloe insert the videotape into the DVD player.

With a flickering screen, Lana and Whitney soon appeared on the television, laughing and picnicking.

"Whoosh!"

Lana's face turned deathly pale instantly. The scene of her picnic with her boyfriend had been clearly recorded, so it seemed that the person who took the photos was none other than Gray!

Looking at the two laughing and talking on TV, Clark's expression turned grim. He pursed his lips, stepped forward, and took out the videotape: "Stop watching. We need to figure out what happened here."

"No way, I haven't finished watching yet." Chloe pouted, expressing her displeasure at Clark's sycophantic behavior towards her goddess.

However, she also knew that she needed to investigate Gray's whereabouts, so she shrugged and stopped talking.

"Let's go check the kitchen."

Gino's blue eyes were fixed on the kitchen around the corner.

That pungent smell of blood was coming from over there.

"Da da~"

The sneakers made a crisp tapping sound as they stepped on the floor.

As they drew closer, a pair of women's high heels first came into Gino's view, followed by a pair of short legs.

Gino sighed inwardly, already having some vague guesses in his mind.

She took a few quick steps forward, revealing a floral dress on her legs. A woman with wide eyes and a bluish face stared intently at the ceiling without blinking.

It wasn't that her eyes weren't dry, but rather that her slightly swollen face and the huge wound on her abdomen proved that the woman had been dead for a long time.

Apart from Gino, who remained expressionless, everyone was horrified by the corpse lying in the kitchen.

Inside the ruptured chest, bloody internal organs could even be seen.

Countless drops of blood stained the floor and the woman's clothes.

A faint, pungent stench of decay assaulted everyone's nostrils.

Fear, fear is spreading, fear is pervasive!

The first to give in was Little Black Pete.

The fear etched into his genes made Little Black Pete let out a scream first. The boy's eyes rolled back, his body convulsed as if he had a stroke, his arms and legs flailing as if he had been whipped by a farmer. His eyes rolled upwards, and he collapsed to the floor with a dull thud.

Chloe wasn't much better off. The first time she looked at the corpse, the woman's unseeing expression made Chloe's face turn pale, and she felt her stomach churning.

"vomit!"

Chloe covered her mouth and dashed out of the kitchen at lightning speed. She didn't want to offend the dead; she was very superstitious about such things.

Soon, painful vomiting and crying could be heard from outside.

Not everyone can remain calm when they see a corpse. Lana, who was behind Gino, was also terrified and instinctively wanted to find a hug for support.

Then, Lana's gaze unconsciously fell on Gino.

For some reason, Lana took a step forward and tried to hug Gino.

However, Gino stepped forward to avoid the woman's embrace, slowly walked towards the corpse, and even squatted down to carefully examine the wounds.

It seemed that it wasn't a corpse, but rather some interesting textbook.

Left with no other choice, Lana, her face pale, turned and threw herself into Clark's arms.

"Clark, I'm scared."

Although he was equally afraid, Clark straightened his back, determined not to embarrass himself in front of the goddess.

"Gino, Gino, shall we leave?"

Clark swallowed hard, his heart pounding with anxiety. He felt as if Mrs. Ted's eyes were secretly watching him, constantly shifting.

"Why leave? Just because of a corpse?"

Gino scoffed, broke off a piece of wood, and held it in his hand.

These young people are too fragile. Wouldn't they be terrified if they witnessed themselves smashing Jeremy's head in?

"However, if you are afraid, you can wait in the living room."
