Chapter 3 What's yours is mine

A black sedan sped along a country road, with ambulances and fire trucks passing by from time to time.

The town, devastated by the meteorite, was filled with scars and disaster. Today was destined to be a catastrophic day for the town. Gino sat in the back seat of a car, and through the window, he could see many families driving away from the town.

The car drove over the fields where Gino had previously been, where the towering cornfields had been leveled by the impact of the meteorite explosion.

Even though the town is now in chaos, nothing can stop Lionel's desire to make money.

"Seriously, why don't we stay in the hospital and instead follow this vampire?" Lex complained in Gino's ear, displaying the qualities of a devoted son from a young age.

Just minutes earlier, when Lionel mentioned the Kents' names, Gino insisted on going with them.

"Come on, he bought you that expensive suit you're wearing." Gino pointed at Lex's suit, which made the other man depressed again, his little face long.

"Boss, we've arrived." The driver brought the car to a smooth stop. Through the window, we could see a somewhat old farm.

"Who would live in a place like this?" Lex looked at the dilapidated farm with disdain.

"So that's why I'm telling you to work hard." Lionel sneered, pushed open the door, and got out of the car.

Gino silently opened the car door and got out as well.

"Oh my god, I stepped in a pile of poop!"

As soon as he got out of the car, Lex was unlucky enough to step in a pile of poultry droppings on the edge of the road.

Gino walked past Lex, laughing mockingly, "Good luck as always, Lex."

Set your sights on this farm.

The entrance gate was chained up, suggesting that the homeowner was not home.

"We made a wasted trip! This is such a waste of my time." The shrewd businessman Lionel was annoyed. Sniffing the air filled with the smell of poultry droppings, he couldn't help but turn and scold Lex: "Damn it, Lex, throw those shoes away! Stop rubbing them everywhere!"

Lex was a little embarrassed and took off his shoes and threw them in the field. Being scolded by his father in front of Gino made Lex even more embarrassed, and he ran to the car with a dark face.

"Father, it seems we've met that family." Gino pointed meaningfully at two figures in the distance, standing on tiptoe.

They were a young couple. The man's face was full of taciturnity and simplicity. He was an honest man who could be recognized at a glance in a crowd, giving people a sense of calm and reliability.

His wife seemed to be saying something to him, and he nodded with a smile, but his worried look revealed that he was not in a good mood.

His wife, on the other hand, had beautiful blonde hair. She was tightly clutching her coat to her chest, as if she were hiding something inside, which made her frequently glance at the coat.

"Thank God, they're finally here." Lionel breathed a sigh of relief and walked over to the couple.

He blocked their way, pulling an account book from his pocket as he said, "Hey, gentlemen, I'm Lionel Luther, chairman of the Luther Group."

Lionel waved his banknotes at Jonathan and said, "Let's get straight to the point. How much do you want? I'll give you an irresistible price to buy this farm."

"Wait, Martha and I..." Before Jonathan could finish speaking, Lionel pulled him aside to discuss the price. In Lionel's view, there was nothing that money couldn't buy.

Martha, the young wife, watched Lionel negotiate with her husband with concern. In her view, the Luther Group was a behemoth they couldn't afford to offend, and given her husband's stubborn nature, a conflict with Lionel was very likely.

Just as Martha was getting worried, she felt her trouser leg being gently tugged. The woman looked down and saw a cute little boy looking up at her with a bright, clear voice.

"Beautiful sister, what are you holding in your arms?" The cunning Gino made full use of his cute appearance and eloquent tongue to ask Martha.

Looking at the adorable boy, Martha glanced down at the boy she had picked up by the roadside, smiled, and said, "He's my adopted child."

"A baby?" Gino asked, his face lighting up with eager anticipation. "May I see him?"

"This..." Martha wanted to refuse, but seeing Gino's pitiful expression, Martha sighed, squatted down, and showed the baby wrapped in swaddling clothes to Gino.

"He's so cute." Gino stared at the baby wrapped in the coat, with his short black hair and peaceful sleeping face. The baby's pinkish-white skin could evoke a woman's maternal instincts. No wonder Martha insisted on keeping young Clark.

"May I touch his hair?"

Martha pursed her lips: "Okay, but be quiet, he's sleeping."

"Of course." Gino nodded seriously, pointing to the black sedan behind him: "I often put my younger brother to sleep, so I have experience in this area."

Martha looked up at Lex, who was sitting in the car with a dark expression, unaware that she had become a younger brother, before she felt relieved and handed the swaddled baby to Gino.

Gino stared at Clark, then extended two fingers, revealing a card radiating golden light between them, out of sight of others.

The finger slowly reached towards Clark, and the moment the index finger touched Clark's forehead, the golden card turned into a cloud of gold dust and sprinkled onto young Clark's body.

The system's cold voice echoed in my mind.

Gino was a little puzzled. To be honest, he didn't feel anything strange. It was as calm and unchanging as breathing.

Besides the indescribable comfort of the sunset shining on my body.

"This system isn't fake, is it?" Gino's expression was strange. He wanted to know if there was a complaint channel for the system; he wanted to file a complaint against it!

Just as Gino was pondering this, Jonathan and Lionel, not far away, also had a heated argument.

"I'm sorry, Lionel, but I will not sell my farm for any amount of money. I love it here; it's an integral part of me!"

Lionel turned away angrily: "Whatever, you stubborn idiot!"

"Gino, let's go!"

Gino glanced at his furious father, gave a worried Martha an apologetic smile, and then turned to leave with Lionel.

Sitting in the car, Lionel was clearly furious, and he kept ranting about Jonathan's stubbornness and stupidity the whole way.

Gino was also a little unhappy. Touching the knife in his pocket, he was unsure whether he had really gained superhuman abilities. If he had, why was there no change?

Gino instinctively clenched his fist.

"Click."

A crisp sound rang out in his pocket. Gino glanced down at his pocket and found that the sharp fruit knife in his palm had been twisted into a tangled mess of metal and was now unusable.
