Chapter 208 The Laboratory Explodes Again
Chapter 208 The Laboratory Explodes Again
metropolis.
Luther Group.
Oh no, now it should probably be called the Justice League Headquarters.
On the top floor, in a large conference room with at least ten chairs, Diana leaned forward, her hands on the table, her brown eyes fixed on the incredibly handsome young man who was slumping into his chair.
Diana heard the deep confusion in her own question and said, "I don't understand."
"I've already told you that guy is called Ratman..."
"It's Batman."
"It doesn't matter, those two things look pretty much the same."
Gino shrugged, intending to explain the difference between bats and mice in detail, but when he met Diana's unfriendly gaze, he shrugged helplessly, indicating that he would choose to keep quiet.
Decades have allowed Diana to seamlessly integrate into human society, and her personality has become much stronger over time.
For a moment, Gino even missed the girl on Paradise Island who would take off her clothes at the drop of a hat, but he knew that was all in the past.
"I don't understand." Diana stood up, pacing back and forth with her hands behind her back. "I've already told you that guy called Batman has ulterior motives. He doesn't trust you, and he doesn't trust us."
"But you still hired him, why?"
"Because he's useful, Diana." Gino sighed and pulled the girl's hand to sit on his lap.
This obviously ambiguous gesture made Diana blush slightly, but her face remained tense, as if to say, "This isn't over until you explain this to me today."
Smelling the faint fragrance on the woman's clothes, Gino smiled and explained to her, "You know my personality; I don't really like meddling."
"For example, the establishment of the canteen, how many chairs to put inside, what the recruitment conditions are, and how to differentiate the levels of different heroes."
Gino shrugged: "Neither you nor I are good at dealing with these trivial matters, let alone my silly high school friend."
"Besides, you don't think those politicians will give up on causing us trouble just because we established this organization without Congressional approval, do you?"
Gino sighed: "And these are all troublesome and things to consider. Which organization you stay in depends on many factors, and you also need people who can manage the organization."
"So, you mean...?" Diana tilted her head. "Batman is this guy?"
"That's right." Gino nodded: "You can say he's neurotic, meticulous, has many ideas, and doesn't trust his teammates, but you can't deny his intelligence."
"That guy is a ruthless person who can come up with hundreds of solutions to a problem."
Otherwise, why would comic book fans say, "You can always believe in Batman"?
As a friend, Batman is certainly lacking, but as a leader and strategist, he is almost invincible.
"I know that guy called Batman doesn't trust me; he wants to spy on me."
"But so far, there are almost no ways he can beat me."
"So, why should we resist this guy?"
Gino smiled indifferently; he wasn't afraid of Batman.
"Okay, I'm just reminding you," Diana said, pouting, still somewhat indignant. "But I'll still keep an eye on him for you within the Alliance."
"I'm going to see him." Gino patted Diana's waist, gesturing for her to stand up.
He couldn't wait for Batman to join the Justice League.
After all, the league needs a large amount of money to operate, and passing this burden on to Batman is just right. I believe he would be happy to take it on.
Don't ask why, just ask because he's Batman.
.....
"Bang!"
A scorching, surging wave of air exploded outwards, and the figures that sped past swept across the sky, leaving trails of cloud waves in the air like blades cutting through the clouds.
"Whoosh!"
Like a fleeting shadow, it suddenly flashed and landed, until it landed in a small alley, its white sneakers gently stepping on the concrete pavement.
Keno looked around the familiar Gotham City with great interest.
The pungent, acrid smell still lingered in the air.
The sirens echoed in every corner of Gotham City. It was truly a law-abiding city, a place teeming with talented people.
Meanwhile, at a nearby gold shop, several masked kidnappers had smashed the glass and were frantically grabbing gold jewelry and stuffing it into their backpacks.
Gino crossed his arms, not turning his head, and jokingly said towards the alley behind him, "Aren't you going to make a move?"
As soon as he finished speaking, a series of steady footsteps sounded from behind him.
Wearing the Batsuit, Batman silently walked towards the gold shop kidnappers and quietly drew his grappling hook from his waist.
Without going into too much detail, taking care of a few kidnappers is already a daily routine for Batman.
Eat, sleep, beat criminals.
As the last kidnapper's bullet struck the bat-shaped protective gear, sending sparks flying, the black figure darted towards the prisoner and knocked him unconscious with a single punch.
After dealing with the kidnappers, Batman took a deep breath. He knew that he still had to face the consequences.
"You've come." Batman turned around, looked at Gino, and stared at the tall figure, his mind churning.
He couldn't help but ask the question that had been buried deep in his heart for so long.
"What did that finger you raised mean?"
"What does it mean?" Gino stared at the black-clad man exuding a cold and melancholic aura, smiled, and said, "Nothing much, I just thought it was funny."
Two pairs of azure eyes met, their gazes locked, but only silence remained.
Batman doesn't believe Gino's words, but he also can't force Gino to tell the truth.
Gino smiled:
"Let's get straight to the point. I'm here to invite you to join the Justice League. You can get a seat in it, but you'll be responsible for the League's daily operations and selection process."
The boy made his request.
Batman nodded:
"I see."
Seemingly unsurprised that Gino would agree, Batman nodded in agreement.
have to say.
It's easy for two smart people to talk.
Batman knew that Gino intended to use him as a tool, and Gino was also aware of Batman's intentions.
What was originally a very difficult matter was resolved in just a few words for them.
Gino was about to discuss some details with Batman when the Singer's report interrupted him.
"Sir, emergency! An explosion has occurred in the underground laboratory of the Luther Chemical Plant. The situation is serious."
"explode?"
Gino frowned, while Batman on the other side subtly pricked up his ears to eavesdrop.
"I'll go back right away."
Gino had no time to linger in Gotham City. He merely raised his head slightly, and in the next instant, the biofield lifted him up like a rocket, shattering the ground beneath his feet. He vanished into the clouds as a blur, still asking the Singer, "How's Lex?"
"The energy fluctuations are severe, and we cannot confirm Lex's condition at this time."
"I see."
With that thought in mind, Gino increased his speed again, activated the Speed Force, and streaked across the sky like a shooting star, instantly standing outside the Luther Factory.
